We really liked this company very much, the products were great and the spec was superb, not cheap crap, but quality German product with Chinese Batteries and Inverter, which I was happy with. This was not my first rodeo, I've had solar panels before so I had some knowledge. BUT....we asked about bird protection/ prevention and were told by Brandon the sales man that we would not need that and that their panels were installed much closer to the roof negating the need for mesh protection. Fast forward 5 months and we have had some many problems with Pigeons its unreal. They have been waking us early in the morning, they have blocked all the gutters with debris and worse than anything they have infested our house with Bird Mites to such an extent that we had to move out. We have had the house fumigated now twice, my fiancee was bitten from head to toe. If we had not been miss-sold this would never have happened. If I had more time I would sue them for the damages and additional expense we have had to go to so solve this problem, it has been a living nightmare - we have had to pay out over £1000 to get the roof bird-proofed , sprayed with chemicals, pesticide smoke bombes in the loft space and upstairs bedrooms too not to mention the expenditure of hotel accommodation - ridiculous - great product but this has been a living hell !!!

Great communication, which is so important. Everything from the scaffold to the installation, all took place on time, when we were told it would. Really happy with our panels, the guys who installed them and the back up team on the phone who are able to answer and sort out any questions the we might have. Would, and have, recommend solar home.

The sales process was more personal than other companies that we were looking at. Unlike othet companies we looked at who did a Google street view survey, Solar Home sent a real person out talk us through the installation and use process. The sales engineer was knowledgeable and able to advise us on all aspects of the process and equipment, answering many questions we had.
The technology of the panels were of a higher spec than many other companies and the installation was fast and efficient, even when one of the panels got broken in transit, it was replaced within a couple of days.
We have been very pleased with the system and how it has operated and when we had a few questions post installation, we found the support team to be fast and efficient at providing answers.
The only issue we experienced was the day after installation, a series of pigeons moved in under the panels and tried to nest under them. This is not a problem with Solar Home, but just mentioning this as something to look out for if anyone else wants to buys panels. Since then we found a company who installed ant bird mesh around the panels which stopped the birds from coming back. I would advise anyone who gets panels to also get anti bird mesh also installed. We found a company that installed a system that doesn't invalidate our panel warranty.

The original survey proposed an in-house system which was not possible as the installers found out. A cabinet fitted to the outside of the house is far too big and leaked until the pod point engineer put some gel round the cables to stop the leak.
The cuttings from the tiles on the roof were left with no attempt to sweep them up. The loft was left in an untidy state.
However when I called to have the internet changed to a new provider the engineer came out promptly.
As far as I am aware the system is working satisfactorily.

A rep visited our home and explained everything in great detail and ensured we understood everything. There was no pressure to buy. The installation was smooth and prompt in-spite of terrible weather and the administration office was extremely helpful and efficient. Had no complaints.

Original review was last year but as a result of continued issues and Solarhomes response to my review I have updated my review.

I had them installed in March and this was absolutely fine, but I quickly became aware that the panels attracted pigeons to nest under.

As previously advised I asked Solarhome for help and advice and got the response that they were really unaware of issues with pigeons. This is really quite unbelievable as you only have to look on the internet, YouTube etc that this is a real problem and for Solarhome to stick there heads in the sand isn’t acceptable. In there earlier response to my review they seemed to criticise me for not including their full response. So for full disclosure the part I didn’t include was their ‘ solution’ was if I was having a problem they recommended a pest control company.

So their solution is after spending a
considerable amount on their product that if I experience a known problem I should go elsewhere to resolve this problem at more cost to myself. The absolute breathtaking arrogance of this approach to customer service with no accountability. I would have expected a response that we are aware of potential issues and are working on a solution for those affected . nothing like that ,just go away and spend more money not our problem!

It’s like buying a car in Sweden and when you slide off the icy road being told we’ve never had any example’s of this but you may want to buy winter tyres.

If I sold a product to my clients which causes them unexpected issues with no solution being offered but spend more money elsewhere I wouldnt expect to remain in business.
If you are looking to purchase solar panels , whoever you use , you might want to ask them whether the product is pigeon proofed, because you may be one of the unlucky ones who could be plagued by pigeons.

For me I didn’t go to their recommendation as it was an industrial pest control company and thought the cost would be too great. Unfortunately my cheaper alternative didn’t work and I had to then hire a pest control company to finally solve my 9 month problem. So the total cost of this has more than wiped out my first year energy savings.

They kept in contact, and stuck to the installation dates offered - and when installation date came they found we could fit some more panels on the roof area, so gave me this option (which I took) - just did a good job, which seems to be unusual these days - well done SOLARhome.

The company were fantastic from start to finish. The actual sales person was very knowledgeable. He was however, not pushy or pressuring. He explained every aspect of the job.
We then had a survey of the house completed by yet another helpful extremely knowledgeable professional.
We had a company of scaffolders erect steel to the front of the house.
The panel installers were on sight for about two to three hours. They were the most polite guys. They left no damage dirt or sign of their visit other than the panels on the roof in excellent working condition. Superb!

Solarhome have been professional in all our dealings with them, from quoting to installation. They have answered all queries promptly. We are very pleased with the performance of the panels.

Very happy with the process from start to finish. Everything was clearly explained and all staff were prompt, courteous and cheerful. Also very happy with the installation, which has saved us a considerable amount of expenditure on electricity, despite the poor weather this summer. Our neighbour has also used SOLARhome and is very happy with them.

From the initial visit, through to the installation everyone was helpful honest and reliable.
The setup has been even more productive than I expected and has left me in no doubt of solar power, but o would strongly recommend a battery to maximise the full potential.

Everyone from Solarhome was very professional. There was no hard sell, but a professional presentation showing all the various options available. Installation and certification was absolutely painless. The installers covered all our floors with dust sheets, made very little mess and cleared up what little they made. The installation of the battery etc in the loft was particularly neat. After installation we received all the certification etc promptly and the system is outperforming the estimates in the presentations. Very satisfied with a very professional installation and would recommend Solarhome highly.

The salesman/advisor was excellent. He asked good questions and desigened a system to suit our needs. The solar panels, inverter and battery were installed within the timeframe offered, the installer did a very neat and tidy job and everything works perfectly. I was kept informed every step of the way. I can recommend SOLARhome without reservation.

The team installing our system was brilliant; pleasant, efficient, hardworking, and tidy. It was an awful day in December, but they worked hard without complaint.
There was a 4-month delay in installing our system due to a shortage of batteries, so outside the company's control, although communication could have been much better.
We are very pleased with the system itself; it has exceeded our expectations and the initial financial outlay is proving to be well worth it. We just wish we'd had a larger capacity battery installed, but this wasn't mentioned when we ordered it.
There was no help or advice offered regarding registering for the SEG, which would have been appreciated, as this proved to be rather a hassle. Nor was any documentation or information provided regarding managing the system in the event of a problem. This would have been much appreciated, as when the software stops working, it is quite worrying. There is information available on the Huawei app I have discovered, but it's not downloadable and is too small to read on screen.

The salesman was very informative and friendly as well as not being too pushy . He had a wide knowledge of the product and gave us lot of confidence.

Arrived on time fitted in accordance with the timetable. Would have had a five star rating but had an issue with the solar tripping one phase of the electrics, which took a couple of visits to sort .

Solarhome quotation was reasonable as regards compared to other companies always kept us up today as regards time period to install panels and kept to their original quoted installation date

Everything provided by Solarhome - the pre-sales service, the fitting, the equipment and the after-sales service- has all been superb! The process of getting estimates, deciding what system best met my needs etc was easy and customer focused. The actual installation last November went exceptionally well, not least because my fitter - Hans, a great guy - was unexpectedly on his own, but still completed the job in one day and worked well into the evening to do so. He was determined not to let me down. On top of that, he did a fantastic job, leaving everything working perfectly, and despite the late hour taking plenty of time to explain how everything worked. And now, nearly 9 months later, it's all still working perfectly. After sales/installation service was also great, and everyone was so helpful. Obviously, with the very wet and cloudy winter, the system was only generating small amounts of power from Nov to mid-March, but once it started to pick up it has never looked back. The panels, inverter and battery all appear to be performing brilliantly, well above expectations, and I have now not been paying for any electricity at all since mid-April. I have also been seeing steadily increasing exports to the National Grid for around three months and really enjoy getting the ever increasing repayments. If I have one 'complaint', it is that Solarhome do not fit what I now know to be the oh-so-essential pigeon guards to stop them nesting underneath the panels. It could be done so easily and cheaply when the panels are installed and while the scaffolding is up. But it did cost me just under a thousand pounds to have them fitted a few months later when the pigeons started waking me up at dawn EVERY morning!
