Solar Energy Lighting are a scam company, coupled to all of there advertising which is totally false. I bought a solar lamp on 4th January 2025 it eventually arrived as it was a typical outside lighting unit. We were pleased with the unit so we ordered another on 2nd March, they took the payment on my Barclaycard and provided me with an order acknowledgement, but since then they have totally disappeared. The do send out a standard emails to anyone, but now you can now see its a scam.

Unfortunately this is a scam company. They sent something (eventually) that was entirely different to what I purchased. They will not refund my money, respond to emails or help in anyway. The most they do is ask me to re explain the issue every time and then don’t respond again until the next time I follow up. They clearly are looking to have me get bored and write off the £100+ that they have acquired under false pretences.

This started in November 2024 and is still on going 5 months later. Do not use

AVOID! I bought 2x 150W solar floodlights with remotes in mid January. Both arrived with batteries for the remotes that had corroded/exploded in their packaging. The internal batteries in the lights were clearly flat & despite charging in bright sunlight for several days, one light does not turn on at all, one turns itself on & goes flat in a very short time and isn't even as bright as a 4W bulb when they are supposed to be 150W! It is now March and has now been over a month since I contacted them for a refund and they keep tossing the ball down the road asking for videos of them not working. I send a video in & 3 weeks later they ask for another video. Have started payment dispute with Amex as clearly they are never going to refund me for faulty lights!
They are extremely good a lying to your credit card provider too - the report they have sent to Amex is completely different to the emails that have been sent & they have conveniently snipped the email chain to support their argument & not the fact that the lights were faulty and UK regulations stipulate they have to offer a refund if faulty!! Astonishing!

Ordered a sturdy looking outdoor solar light and received something very small, cheap and ineffective. Have been trying to return and get a refund for months - as indeed advertised and offered on their website - only to receive evasive replies from 'John Smith' and 'Nenad'. Every excuse why they won't do this....requiring photos and then videos. Total scammers and not a UK company - AVOID AT ALL COST!

La lampe (reçue tardivement) était très belle mais après seulement six semaines d'utilisation, les leds ont commencé à faire fondre les bâtonnets en plastique qui les entouraient !!! Un des bâtonnets est tombé brûlant sur notre tapis et aurait pu créer un incendie / accident grave.
J'en ai parlé au service client qui ne m'a fait aucun retour.
Je déconseille très fortement ce site et les modèles de ses lampes (trouvables également sur d'autres sites).

Stay away from this company! They are not British . I ordered x2 wall lights on 18th of January they are still not here and it’s the 18th of February. Hardly any response to emails . They are a Chinese company not uk ! Wish I’d read the reviews first .

Stay well clear they took my money then said delivery delayed as they have moved ! Still no light . Scammers !

Entreprise à fuir impérativement. Arnaque. J'ai commandé une plaque signalétique blanche pour ma maison. Je l'ai reçue en GRIS. Je les ai les contactés 3 fois, n'ont pas eu le courage ni le professionnalisme de répondre. Une véritable honte. Si vous ne voulez pas vivre la même chose, passez votre tour et achetez ailleurs. Sinon vous gaspillerez votre argent.

Do not waste your money with this company. I ordered a solar powered light from them. It took 4 weeks to arrive from China and was completely useless. Their customer services were completly un-responsive. I then bought a similar item from a local company and it worked perfectly. Dont put your money into the Chinese economy. Buy British!

Avoid this company at all costs! I ordered a light fitting for over £100 and received what can only be described as a flimsy plastic knockoff—cheap-looking, incomplete, and with no instructions. Their customer service is a joke—responses are vague and incoherent, and when I asked for return details, they simply stopped replying! Now I’m stuck with a worthless piece of plastic that isn’t even fit for landfill. Save yourself the frustration and shop elsewhere

Just awful, their communications are poor at best, I get bland emails from John Smith?? They have never answered my queries, I made a mistake and asked them to correct it - nothing but bland nonsense replies, however by some miracle the right product turned up.
He tells me their email traffic is very high at the moment and can't answer - I wonder why?? These emails are not likely to be an automated response because they come several days later, it is more likely a person (John Smith ;)) puts together a holding email hoping I will eventually give up and go away.
I love the design but the quality doesn't match the price. The instructions are in Chinese so I'm going to have to guess how to wire them up. I don't even know if they meet UK standards (I'll be checking with the relevant authorities).
These guys are simply 'drop shippers' they add no value whatsoever in my opinion.
Just look at their lack of responses to similar postings, nothing, that's how much they care about their customers.
My advice is stay clear of them.

Awful - ordered 3 lights all of which took nearly 20 days to arrive, the quality is awful, I have contacted them for a refund and return with no response hoping this review will trigger a reply…

I placed an order on the 20th December 2024. Delivery was quoted as within 7 days.

I needed the items within that period. Chased for updates, just got automated email responses from "John Smith' Really? This is a Chinese based company, not in the UK. Finally received a response telling me to look at tracking number. Now its the 4th January and it states on tracking '2025-01-02 02:25 Departure from the original airport' What an absolute joke.

In the last 12 months we have purchased 5 solar lights and only 1 remains functioning. Their support Team (A bit of joke!!) do not respond to emails, (22 emails sent since Sept 2024). We are a small charity and this loss of money is crucifying our finances but Solar lighting have no morals and are not interested in providing any support once they have your cash.... Please do not order from this company as all we are doing is financing the scammers...

Absolutely rip off the money they cost for the product you receive is horrendous I’ve sent numerous emails and messages for returns label and requested refund all ignored avoid,avoid avoid please don’t buy from this company
