I can't praise them highly enough!
In late July 2021 I decided to investigate the installation of a solar set-up at my house. I knew nothing at all about what might be involved so I did a Web search and discovered Solar Choice. I immediately engaged with them and was astounded at the assistance provided to me AT NO COST! From that point onward I was guided painlessly by the Solar Choice Team - they were fantastic and, almost before I knew it, I had a great system installed and operating. I can't praise them highly enough!

claims to provide instant quotes yet demands my phone number and that I agree that providers can phone me. No instant quotes were provided. Some kind of phishing scam? No doubt my details will be used by some sort of dodgy phone list and I will have more calls to report to scam watch

Overall, this was a very positive experience and a very good web site. The general information is good and the "Compare personalised solar panel and battery quotes" section is excellent and very clear. My only peeve was the total inability to look at the other sections on the same front page - "Locate your roof and create your profile" and the "Explore your roof's potential" buttons. Despite signing up via email etc.

In the early parts of January many installers take a well-deserved break as with the way the rebate is designed they are often working up until the 31st of December to get as many jobs in before the end of the year as possible.

Solar installed within a week.
Within a day of inquiring at Solar Choice all three Solar agency/installer contacted me and offer me different choices and explain to me about solar panels and inverters. I compare the offers and was able to chose one. Within a week my solar system is installed. I am very happy.

Even if you knew nothing about solar panels and batteries, after reading the relevant articles on the site you come away with a much better understanding and the confidence to talk to suppliers of solar systems without becoming bamboozled with their "solar speak".

Solar choice provides a comprehensive resource on PV solar and a platform from which to compare products and solutions.
After deciding on the merits of solar PV I tried getting an independent quote from 1) a cold phone call marketer and 2) a door knock marketer. In both cases the information can best be described as flimflam and the the quotes + sales pressure was a rip-off.
I went back to Solar choice and I got an immediate response from two companies.
I selected one company that gave me credible answers to my questions and also their pricing was comparable to the best in our neighbourhood.

Hi Glenn, You might be confusing us with another solar company. All of our staff are located at our head office at Level 3, 39 East Esplanade, Manly, NSW 2095. Drop by anytime.
Standard template would help compare quotes
Solar choice helpfully put us in contact with 3 local suppliers. This was useful and we ended up going with one of them.
However the 3 quotes were not directly comparable because they had different descriptions of the battery material (which we think all turned out to be the same anyway), different descriptions of how their costs fitted within the ACT Governments NextGen program, and how they treated gst.
A standard solarchoice template could avoid comparative issues in future.

We will look into including some pop up tips on the battery chemistries. There are a number of subtle differences in the chemistries of the most of the popular batteries. E.g. Tesla is lithium nickel-manganese-cobalt while Alpha ESS is lithium iron phosphate.
Electrician failed to attend…
Electrician failed to attend appointment. Solar Choice only responded after my calls to them. I would have considered Solar Choice to replace the existing panels but will not do so now. That’s $8-10k of lost business due to poor customer service. Expensive lesson.
