Very low quality materials used in the construction of Divan base
How they can claim that their fleece electric blanket fits a single bed is beyond belief. I put it on the bed and it looks like a postage stamp. It only just fit the cot if her baby sister. I was disgusted with the size as it only covered a quarter of the bed making it quite uncomfortable. The mist disappointing part is that the have the audacity to charge £30 for it. Not worth the money for the quality.
Bought rollo hybrid mattress. In just over a year it had dipped and we were having broken nights sleep and back and hip ache. Engineer came and said it was within normal parameters and not a manufacturers fault so nothing they could do. Tried contacting them again and never got an answer. Can't afford another mattress as we are still paying off this one so left with a mattress that is causing us pain and lack of sleep. AVOID!!!
First mattress was delivered with a live bug sealed within the protective plastic sheeting. Had to wait 9 days for a replacement. This dipped in the middle from the first night. Went back to the store and lay on the same mattress and it did not dip.
They said contact customer services. They told me to rotate mattress weekly! I said it was like this from day 1 and their leaflet says to rotate fortnightly. They said send in photos. Have to wait 5 working days for a reply. Then get a generic message asking for photos, measurements, photos of the base, anything to try to get out of sorting out a defective mattress. Now waiting a further 5 working days + for a reply to the last email. Found bad reviews of Slumberland mattresses. Benson For Beds need to listen to customers
Second mattress was found to be faulty. Had to wait weeks but third mattress is due this week. Third time lucky?
Not sure if we were sold the wrong firmness of mattress by Bensons for Beds but the Rollo Hybrid Duo mattress became unsupportive after about two and a half years causing my husband and I to have back problems. It was seen by an independent tester who concluded the dips in the mattress were normal settlement and that the mattress wasn’t faulty.
Bought the Slumberland AIR 6.0 Mattress from bensons beds and I’ve had it 2yrs and it is absolutely awful. It dips in the middle, I’ve had it checked out by bensons and apparently the dip is normal and it is to mould to your body. No it doesn’t and it’s dipped all the time and gets even worse when I’m on it. I wanted a firm mattress because I’m a stomach sleeper and now my body hurts because it dips so my body isn’t straight. There is a problem with the memory foam technology that no one is admitting too and this needs sorting. There is no bounce back, it’s just awful. This is the worse mattress I have ever had and the most expensive. A very expensive mistake that’s just going to be dumped at the tip when I get a new one. I bought a £100 memory foam topper hoping it would help but it’s still got a dip.. I’m absolutely fuming. Slumberland need to read the reviews on what people are saying about the dipping as this is not normal. You need to correct your memory foam and make a better quality one. No one wants to take responsibility for this poor quality mattress. I think the springs are fine, I think it’s 100% down to the bad quality memory foam. Please believe the people who have slept on this mattress more than 6 months as I thought this mattress was amazing at first too.
Just an update on a previous review. I'd complained about my order and slumberland requested me to email, which I did.
Order ref #30250
Just to let slumberland know
I have ditched the pillows
I have had laundered (at my expense) the topper and quilt and donated them to charity
Paid £26 for 2 supposedly duck feather pillows from Slumberland but it should be Lumberland as lying on wood is a closer description. If these are duck feathers, they must still be attached to the duck. They are noisy - scratchy - lumpy and uncomfortable. This is like lying on a bale of hay. Do NOT be drawn in by this contrick, Supposed to have a 2 year warranty - ??? More lies and it seems I am not alone
Will post this on a dozen social media sites - one way or another I will cost LUMBERLAND more then the £26 they conned me for
TP won't allow links to other reviews so go to Slumberland reviews and check out all the negative reviews about this bale of hay - sorry pillows from LUMBERLAND
Interesting reading. We bought a Slumberland Duo 2200 in January. Waited 3 weeks for delivery then after 2 days use it had dipped leaving a large lump in the middle of the mattress. This mattress was replaced on 25th April. The same problem has occurred. We now have to wait until 12th June for a technician to survey the mattress. We were told today “they never have ever had any complaints or problems with this mattress”. Wolverhampton store are very good at selling you a mattress but any problems you are on your own with only the internet or telephone dealing with queries and not able to contact technicians at all
Checking on the internet these technicians
can repair bases and frames but have little experience with mattresses. We have no intention of having a brand new mattress repaired
I bought the Slumberland Duo 2200 (medium) sold exclusively by Bensons for Beds ( both owned by the same company). The salesman neglected to mention that this mattress will not spring back like the store one does, but will deform from day one of you sleeping on it. 2 days after delivery you get an unsolicited email advising that the mattress will undergo 'settlement' to mould to your body 'over time' so they absolve themselves of this being anything other than 'normal'. I just spent £650 for a immediately lumpy mattress and I won't get a refund and it's never going to be comfortable for all of the 8 year guarantee. Avoid buying Slumberland and Bensons, once bought you cannot exchange it under the 40 day return policy without considerable extra expense (10% of the sake price plus redelivery, the replacement won't be covered by the 40 day policy and if its cheaper they don't refund the difference. Avoid
Absolute rubbish is the only way I can describe, I purchased a Slumberland 9000 Clima Airstream, it lasted a few weeks, it was returned and swapped for another, again NO support and big "dips" appeared where we lay. This time replaced by Matt Eco Solutions 2200, this time lasted around 7 months, I am now waiting on customer service to call me with a solution to our poor quality mattresses, 3 mattresses in a year is NOT acceptable. This time an inspection was carried out by a technician. Bensons customer service is quite good to be fair but the Slumberland brand is very very poor, seems it collapses with no support after a short while!
I need a no star for this one. Had to exchange a mattress with an 8 year guarantee after 2 years. Extremely poor quality, massive holes where we sleep, health problems due to this. Bensons have kindly organised a replacement. Very poor quality.
'Slumberland Natural Solutions 2800' medium comfort purchased from Bensons (good service) £999 got £150 off + an extra 10% off. We like that it's eco friendly with bamboo microclimate to keep you cool.
The mattress for me was awful, rock hard like sleeping on a table, after 5 days I felt pain in my sides and wasn't sleeping, we added a thick topper but that made my husband sweat and what's the point in paying so much to need a topper. We returned to store and tried out the mattress again and we were both convinced we'd received the wrong mattress, the store one was so much softer, however upon inspection of the label at home it was correct. How can it be so different? My husband thinks our mattress is firm and comfortable but even he said it is definitely not the same as the one in store. There is a Bensons 40night guarantee option (have to pay 10% of the original mattress price) but if I was to choose a replacement mattress I would choose the same one in store so I was reluctant to take this opportunity. We have just passed the 40nights and I'm getting used to it, but I don't get in bed think 'oh what bliss', disappointed.
I had to buy a new mattress as I thought the IKEA one I had wasn't doing me any good. I went to Benson's for beds and went on the test bed to see where my pressure points were and I was told what I needed and shown round to the ones compatible with me.
I am disabled unemployed parent, but due to my back and hip pains I needed to get a good quality mattress. I tried a few but kept going back to the clima airstream as I thought this was really comfortable, @ £950 I was guessing this was going to be a REALLY GOOD Mattress! I was reluctant to purchase with it been so expensive but I really needed something comfortable. After a few months I noticed it wasn't as comfortable as it was when new, I hear and feel the springs popping when laid in bed where they must be settling from where I have moved ( I wouldn't have expected this to happen on nearly a £1k mattress. I also felt like I was rolling into my partner and have to put a pillow in the middle and rest my back on it to keep me from rolling, the pillow top has stretched over to one side nearly hanging off, although it's entered and exited equally from both sides, it definitely doesn't feel like it did in the shop and I do swap the mattress round ever few weeks to help it wear even( I was determined to look after my expensive mattress). Earlier this year I called up to complain which was well before the 12 month mark and they was sending someone out to look at, but due to my I'll health I had to cancel a couple of appointments, which finally I had a few days ago.
The technician came and as soon as he walked in he saw the dip on my side, he did his tests, he told me they have various measurements for settlement! putting a line over the bed and then pushing it down and puttin some card with measurements on. As he put it on he pushed on it and it was at 4.5 for a while, not sure if it was cm or mm, then when he decided to taket the pic it was at 4 ( he told me that 12-24 months old the 4 was the recommended scale for settlement, but this was like it before 12 months and if it's already at 4 it's 12 months and it's defo going to be over in the next 6-12 months!
He then looked under the mattress to "measure my slat width" I didn't even know that was a thing...... He told me my slats are too far apart they should be between a certain distance apart and mine or more. So he basically told me that maybe the reason for it not preform as it should pmsl I was gob smacked, he then did a lay on the bed test, ( for 30 seconds) and told be he feels no roll lol.
I called Benson for beds up today, he didn't put anything on the report about the springs or the pillow top that's sagging to one side. He's said that the bed is comfortable and nothing wrong with it and stated about the slats. I was advised to contact my bed frame manufacturer which I have, and they said that is the space on the slats so there is no manufacturer fault there either.
I'm just waiting on a "senior" technician to contact me back about the mattress and see what why say ( I'm not holding my breath) I have been in contact with the consumer helpline too so just waiting on what I'm going to do.
I asked the lady at Benson for beds if there was anything on their website or in the T's&C's about slat distance for mattress and she said no! If this could void your warranty this should be one of the things they advised you about when you only buy a mattress from them, the lady said it's on Google that she found the information about slat gaps lol, I didn't even know about it to look on the first place.
I feel this mattress is more of a 3/400 pound one you can get off FB bed people disgraceful quality.
On my second slumberland airstream matress.. the first collapsed .. the metal frame pretruding through the sides of matress.. report stated manufacturing fault.. replaced with what should be a firm matress.. sinking when sat on and collapsing again.. bensons initially tried to get me to return second matress under their comfort guarantee and incur charges.. on being passed to second advisor and her seeing pictures it was agreed unsatisfactory and im awaiting my third.. a full refund will be expected if more problems.. the person using this matress has severe back problems and even though it was explained that the matress is making these issues worse we're having to wait wks for exchange.
Will never buy slumberland again.. and not overly impressed with bensons for beds either..
I purchased a Slumberland Clima Airstream Memory 6000 Mattress. It has been in use less than 6 months. It is turned weekly but has excessive bobbling. I have approached the retailer Bensons who inform me that Slumberland are difficult to deal with and nothing can be done. I expected more than 6 months life in a mattress. I will not buy Slumberland again.
If I could give ZERO stars, I will!!!
Bought 1 slumberland Clima airstream memory 9000 mattress, which cost me a record £970 (not on sale).
The model we have tried in Bensons, was the most comfortable mattress we ever tried. Me and my wife fell in love... Had to wait for 5 weeks delivery... On the arrival, we immediate felt it was much harder, and could not feel any memory foam (not as the same one we have tried in Bensons)... Contacted Bensons, and advised to wait 40 days (trial period), so we could exchange for another one. After phone calls and time wasted on the phones... Managed to get another option to exchange for, which costed us an extra 10% £97 fee, plus another £30, for a second delivery. But the painful of all, still have to wait again another 5 weeks of pain sleeping on this RUBBISH mattress until next week... My wife is disabled, and both of us can't stay in bed for more than 5 hours, it sinks in the middle, and giving us both a terrible back pain. Not comfortable at all. The biggest mistake of all time. Never again will buy another Slumberland mattress. Not sure if it's faulty, but 100% not the same we tried in Bensons? Felt We have been conned, and unable to have a proper sleep for nearly 10 weeks... What a punishment....!!! ZERO STARS TO SLUMBERLAND, SHAME ON YOU!!!
bought rollo mattress from bensons, wasn't a good experience and wrote review, however this is about a slumberland mattress, which had a fault in manufacture unknown to us for a few months before we realised as it was getting uncomfortable, rang slumberland and advised needed to get an independent home inspection, cost £60, given two companies, bit of a pain but money returned if faulty, inspector came, agreed faulty and sent report to slumberland, they contacted me within a couple of days and agreed to relace mattress and remove faulty one, refunded the report cost , all in all a good service, new mattress fine, no problems,if report had been free would have given 5 stars, recommend company
