My daughter downloaded Sittsy wanting to work as a pet sitter. During sign-up, she accepted the Terms & Conditions — and immediately, without any payment confirmation screen or breakdown of what I was paying for, €29 was charged to her card.
No summary page. No "you are about to be charged." Nothing.
I requested a refund the same day and day after. No reply. My bank declined the chargeback. Sittsy's support is fully automated — I couldn't reach a human no matter how many times I asked.
This is not how a legitimate platform operates. In the EU, you are legally required to show a payment summary before processing a charge. They did not. I am now filing a complaint with Postal Police.
Don't use this app and be very careful.

We’re sorry to hear about this experience. Sittsy does not allow users under 18 to register as pet sitters, and the registration process requires the user to confirm their age.
Payment authorization and processing are handled through the user’s bank/payment provider, not directly by Sittsy. Depending on the bank, additional verification such as an SMS code or 3-D Secure may be required, and the bank decides how that verification is handled.
We’re also sorry that your bank declined the refund request. That decision is made by the bank and is outside Sittsy’s control.
The applicable payment and refund conditions are presented during registration and payment. Users are under no obligation to proceed if they do not agree with the terms or feel comfortable making the payment.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience. Sittsy presents the applicable Terms & Conditions, pricing and payment information before a user authorizes a payment. Our payment process is also subject to security and verification requirements from Apple, Google Play and our payment provider.
Sittsy does not independently process or authorize card payments. Payments are handled by our payment partners, including Stripe, together with the user’s bank. The bank decides what additional authentication is required, such as SMS verification, 3-D Secure, biometric authentication or another security step.
We’re also sorry that your bank declined your chargeback request. That decision is made by your bank and is outside Sittsy’s control.
If you believe the payment was processed incorrectly, please contact us at support@sittsy.com and include reference SIT-84627 so we can locate your account and review the specific transaction.
