I never signed up for a similarweb account. It seems they recently purchased a company that I do have an account with. It seems as if, they pulled the account information from that company including CC info, and setup a free trial, that when the free period was over would automatically convert to a paid subscription.

I only learned of this because of emails from them. When I went to the site to figure out what was going on I couldn't access the account they said I signed up for. I had to use Google Auth to get into the account - Which had never been previously used for SimilarWeb.

I was able to cancel the subscription. But, we'll see if they try to charge me. From what I have read here they have a pretty bad reputation for unauthorized service charges.

Lead you through all sorts of data capture to over $100 / month?! and then the site locks you into the sign-up page. Horrible interface / seems sneaky. Good thing I put a fake phone number in!

I canceled my 7-day trial on the same day I signed up, but I was still charged $199 unexpectedly. I never intended to continue the subscription, and I simply can’t afford this amount. It’s extremely stressful. I’ve submitted a support request (Ticket ID: #1489194) and my invoice number is INV00368197, but I haven’t received any reply yet. Please refund me and cancel the subscription immediately.

They charged me twice $423+ then $80+ within a scope of 2 days for a service I didn't sign up for! I emailed them to refund me for that $423+, they replied after 2 days that the refund will come within 7 to 14 days! But they immediately charged me again with that $80+ without my consent and authorization! What is going on?? I want a refund for both amount ASAP.

Using SimilarWeb helped me gain insights into data about both my potential customers as well as competition. While in many cases it is used for "inbound" purposes, i use it for outbound. As our product depends on customer website traffic, this information is useful and handy within similarweb. Similarly, it helps me shape my ICP and getting additional ad related information from the industry.

The tool gives a more detailed view of the competitive environment, compared to other tools on the market. Many useful features to the different team in the agency.

A sales rep told me their product integrates with our CRM and provides company info like size, revenue, and so on. Based on that, I paid 129 for a one-month trial. I was actually charged 150 due to hidden taxes in the fine print.

Once inside, I found that the features I signed up for are locked behind higher-tier plans. To even see pricing, I have to book a meeting with their sales team. Total bait-and-switch.

I've been using Similarweb for many years now and it's useful to inform our business decisions and strategy as it gives us many great competitive insights and intelligence that we won't not have otherwise.

Using similarweb for more then 5 years now. Its essential tool for me to make decisions about marketing, portfolio management etc. especially on smaller market like CEE, where is lack of information about partners. But the most important is knowledge of the customer before and during meeting with them. Knowledge is power !

[REFUNDED] I was charged $199 immediately for just 1 month use. After I canceled my 7-day trial on the first day of visiting the website, the free usage for 7 days was all gone, leaving me with a blank page. I thought I subscribed again and the 7-day trial would be refreshed, but NO, $199 was charged immediately. Now I don't even dare to cancel because I don't know if I can use it within my 1-month charged. I submitted many forms with ticket ID 1488225, 1488219, 1488218, but no response. I cannot afford this much cost. REFUND and CANCEL my subscription asap. This is too pricey

Charged $240 for a subscription I never knowingly signed up for. No trial notification, no purchase confirmation email, nothing. Haven't even used the product. This feels like a scam - taking money without proper consent or communication

I signed up for a free trial in English. Every part of the process—from onboarding to the dashboard—was in English. They then billed me on day 6 - before the trial was over. But the only notification warning me of the impending charge? Sent entirely in French. I don’t speak French. I never selected French. And I never had a fair chance to cancel.

This isn’t just lazy—it’s predatory.

They knew exactly what they were doing. Burying a key communication in another language is a clever loophole to get one more subscription over the line. But clever doesn’t make it ethical. Or legal.

No refund. No accountability. Just silence. Still waiting on a response!

If this is how Similarweb operates—relying on obfuscation and dark patterns—I’d think twice before trusting them with your data, your business, or your wallet.

Working in Sales in the e-commerce industry, it's imperative to understand a site's website traffic, technologies they're using and contacts at the company. SimilarWeb extension and Pro gives me all this data in one place and the AI meeting prep tool writes out an entire game plan for a meeting including key talking points, my company's competitive advantage, and market trends. Cannot recommend it enough -- every sales org should have this tool.

I have been using Similarweb for more than 8years across all agencies I have worked at, while the last 3 years we are using it in-house in one of the biggest retailers.
As I am part of the Search team, I am mainly using the Keyword Research, Monthly Competitive Overview, Traffic Leaders and Search Traffic Overview dashboards and reports using them to strategic actions. We have been using some of the insights to create testing roadmaps aligned & tailored to the areas of improvement that Similarweb is "flagging" to us via the data provided. We have also increased our Keyword portfolio using the Keyword Research report.

Similarweb has become my go-to tool to pull competitive insights, estimated performance, traffic over time, and search demand. These insights have been successful in persuading my client to take action, and oftentimes the clients will respond with how useful this data is in getting buy in from their own leadership. A new feature around AI insights has been particularly useful, showing how much traffic ChatGPT and other AI bots is driving to sites. I'm in SimilarWeb every single day and finding new insights that help push my client's performance forward.

For competitor benchmarking I would recommend Similarweb. Similarweb allows you to conduct competitor analysis at a domain and/or subdomain level, with in-depth analysis for up to 5 website domains/subdomains.

Additionally, they have recently released a new "Market Analysis" feature which has replaced Website Category Analysis, which provides more in-depth features and allows you to build custom industries, which is very useful.

Finally, Similarweb's website segment analysis feature is becoming more and more important, with the ability to analyse specific website pages/folders and replicate against various competitor sets to ensure representative comparisons against competitors if you have a product/service area in need of analysis.

It's a scam, they callect a lot of data about you then charge you $199 or $125 per month for their plan. But you can only see the Plans after you gave them all your data.

C'est pour moi le meilleur outil pour comparer les performances d'un site web par rapport à ses concurrents. L'outil est très complet en termes de données fournies (visites, sources de trafic, mots clés les plus performants, etc.). L'accès à la plateforme est certes un peu cher et les données ne sont pas toujours en ligne avec celles calculées en interne mais il reste selon moi indispensable pour se comparer vs ses concurrents (surtout en termes d'évolution mensuelle).
