I placed my 1st order with self-portrait recently. The dress wasn’t quite right on me sadly, so I returned it.
After a week of no news about the return I dropped them an email just to ask how long it would take. Then I had the best service by a ‘real’ and helpful, friendly member of staff (Sophie) explaining the timescales and process.
The refund happened a day later anyway - but it was just lovely to receive great service with my query. Rare and refreshing.

I had a good experience ! Marta was absolutely wonderful – kind, professional, and very helpful. She answered all my questions promptly and found quick solutions to everything I needed. Communication was smooth and clear. I highly recommend this shop, especially thanks to the excellent customer service provided by Marta!

Always answer the phone, always reply to your message or mails. Always pleasant what more could you want.........Fabulous well made clothes and fabulous designs. cant wait for the next sale I have my eye on a numbr of items !!

Parfait ! J’ai acheté sur le site ma robe pour mon mariage civil. Elle était très belle et conforme aux photos ; chic et de belle qualité. Le délai de livraison a été respecté. J’avais une inquiétude à ce sujet et le service client, en la personne de Haruka que je remercie, m’a immédiatement renseignée et m’a confirmer que je recevrai bien ma robe à temps pour mon mariage, ce qui fut le cas ! Je recommanderai sans hésiter !

I ordered two dresses - both of them didnt fit and one of them had brown stains on it, so I needed to return both of them. You have to pay for the return yourself, which was 25 euro for me, which I think is very expensive, but they did write the terms, so that was my own responsibility. But afterwards I didnt hear anything from then, so after 4 weeks I contacted them and asked for the refund! Even though they recieved the package 4 days after I sent it - they responded that they only had registered one of the dresses and asked for proof for the package weight - I felt that they were accusing me for cheating - I was very anxious for not getting the refund for the other dress which was 250 euro!! After several emails I got the refund for the other dress and was very relieved - but I have NEVER had such a bad experience with a return process, and did not expect it for such a brand with those prices and reputation. I will NEVER buy anything from self portrait again, because the return process was so stressful and time consuming.

Never order from them!
Big order placed 2 months ago and never received as it was sent to another country. Refused to refund despite numerous reminders. Simply thieves. Flee!

Ich hatte am 21. Mai 2025 insgesamt 3 Kleider für 749 Euro bei Self-Portrait bestellt, die ich alle 3 als Retoure angemeldet habe und direkt wieder zurück geschickt habe. Der dazu vorgesehene QR Code hat mir auch angezeigt, dass das Paket wieder bei Self-Portrait angekommen ist. Ungefähr 1 Monat später (19. Juni 2025) kam eine Rückerstattung in Höhe von 477 Euro für 2 der Kleider (abzüglich 20 Euro Gebühr für die Retoure). Wegen der Rückerstattung des 3. Kleides bin ich bis heute am Schreiben, telefonieren und Diskutieren. Heute ist der 15. Juli 2025.
Vor 10 Tagen hatte mir eine Mitarbeiterin von Self Portrait die Rückzahlung per Telefon zugesagt, es ist aber nichts passiert. Nach dem heutigen 5. Telefonat mit Self-Portrait heißt es, dass sie nicht wissen, wo das Kleid geblieben ist und sie deshalb die restlichen 272 Euro nicht zurück zahlen.
Ich werde nie wieder bei Self-Portait bestellen und überlege mir, einen Anwalt einzuschalten!

I went through an extremely stressful and difficult time in my life and making my return was not top of my to-do list. I realised a couple of days late that the 14-day window had passed. I emailed and called, and was told by very rude and uninterested customer service staff there was nothing to be done, leaving me with a very expensive order that I have no use for. Will not be buying from them again.

Why you keep sending me an email that... "Your new look is waiting"? When those products are already sold out???

Their filter are never working properly. Even you put your size but they will show the sold out one for you anyway...

Why don't you update your website if there's out of stock?????????????????

Love the dresses and the customer care is different level good. I had one issue with my order and Arunima helped me instantly and made it such a joyful experience.

I have ordered 2 dresses that were not true to size (I own already some self portrait dresses all were at the same size) so I've requested a return. They don't have a return label so the returns are made with the customer's cost, which in my case was 68 euro for 2 dresses with value of 240,00 euro. They have received my return via DHL the 2nd of June and I have only took 210,00 euro back after hundred's of emails and proof that they have indeed received my package. So in the end, my cost for the return was almost 100 euro! I will never order again!

Very bad customer service. They cut my order in half, sent the first part to my address, and when I contacted them for the second part, they said that I put the wrong address on the order. When I asked them how it was possible to put two addresses on one order, they said that I put the wrong delivery country. So, the items I ordered were some of the last pieces and they obviously sold out, and they lied that I wrote the wrong delivery address. Very bad communication, they don't respect customers at all, they didn't offer to re-deliver, but offered to refund the money in 15 days, which actually tells me that they sold out of everything and didn't have it in stock. Very, very bad customer support, I will never buy from them again!

Ordine effettuato il 23/05 e sin da subito i problemi sono stati evidenti: nessuna conferma d’ordine ricevuta, nessuna comunicazione chiara su quando l’ordine sarebbe stato spedito o consegnato. Dopo aver pagato 20€ di spedizione, sono rimasta completamente all’oscuro per giorni, senza sapere nemmeno se l’ordine fosse andato a buon fine.

Quando finalmente i capi sono arrivati (due abiti della stessa taglia), ho scoperto che uno vestiva correttamente e l’altro era incredibilmente piccolo, pur essendo indicato come la stessa taglia. Ho quindi richiesto un reso il 30/05 e spedito il pacco il 3/06, pagando altri 20€ per il reso.

Oggi è il 3 luglio e sto ancora aspettando il rimborso. Ho speso 40€ solo in spedizioni per un servizio che definire scadente è un complimento.

Un brand che si presenta di fascia alta ma che offre un servizio clienti amatoriale e disorganizzato, taglie incoerenti e nessuna attenzione al consumatore.

Non consiglio a nessuno di acquistare da Self-Portrait. Ci sono tanti altri brand sul mercato che offrono prodotti di qualità comparabile ma con un’assistenza clienti degna di questo nome. Dopo questa esperienza, non farò mai più un ordine con loro.

I ordered it came quickly great! I returned it’s taken two weeks to start processing my return and now another 5 to 10 working days to get my money back. My first order I won’t be doing ordering again. This is blatant use of customer money to fund cashflow. Please don’t tell me you are so busy and popular that’s why it take so long just do the right thing. I emailed customer service and no reply. So goodbye

Excellent customer service, one I haven't experienced for such a very long time. I had requested the cancellation of my order before the shippment was done and the team was super reactive but also I didn't have the feeling I was talking to a machine. Self Portrait really took the time - of a human - to asnwer my request.
