No follow-through on quote

I contacted Santa Fe Relocation regarding a potential move from Germany to Spain and initially had very positive impression. Communication started off well, and we arranged a virtual survey on 18 February, which was conducted professionally by a service partner (Move4U). I was then informed that a quote would be prepared and sent shortly.

After following up, I received a reply apologizing for the delay due to sick leave and was assured that the quote would be sent the following Monday. Unfortunately, despite this and two more follow-ups on my side, I have not received any quote or further communication since. It has now been over a month since I last heard back from them.

The lack of follow-through and absence of communication is disappointing, especially for a service where reliability and planning are essential.

International move from Switzerland to Italy – very disappointing experience

In April 2025 I requested quotes from three companies (Santa Fe, Gosselin and Bollinger) for a move from Switzerland to Italy, with the possibility of one to two months of storage. We chose Santa Fe because they sent a surveyor to our home who inspected every cupboard and room in person and provided a detailed estimate of the required volume. The other companies quoted via video, and we did not negotiate with any provider, assuming the surveyor’s assessment would be accurate.

Once we signed the contract and paid the deposit, communication became very limited. Despite repeated requests, Santa Fe did not confirm our preferred moving dates until just a few days before the move at the end of September. This created unnecessary stress.

The packing process was also problematic. On day one, three packers arrived but took many breaks and left early, having packed very little. On day two they left at midday and a second crew had to be brought in, who worked until after 8pm. At that point we were told that the actual volume was double the surveyor’s estimate. We had not purchased any new items, and in fact had removed three carloads of belongings to our UK home before the move. During packing, a large wardrobe door was also damaged.

Following this, we spent months being chased for additional payment. We ultimately had to pay the increased charges in order to receive delivery. Delivery itself took six weeks. When the team arrived in Italy, we were told we needed to pay for two additional people and a few thousand euros more because we live on the 5th floor. In reality, only eight items needed to be carried by hand; everything else fit easily into the lift.

The unpacking crew in Italy were professional, but unfortunately many items were damaged due to poor packing. Several boxes contained mostly paper with very few items inside, which unnecessarily increased the volume and cost.

Having moved many times internationally, this has been our only negative experience. It was extremely stressful, significantly more expensive than quoted, and the overall service was poor. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Santa Fe for international removals.

Worst nightmare

After months of planning and coordination, the actual move within London could not have gone worse! This was not the cheapest quote, but none of the agreements were held up.
- arrival time was not adhered to
- nobody picked up the phone, no calls returned
- we requested a small van to be able to park in the mews, instead a 30 metre van arrives!
- our goods were stalled 'temporarily' outside the flat in public, whilst team went for lunch
- team could not move us in a day, leading to additonal cost for a hotel!!

Absolutely terrible - never again

Barcelona to Dubai - wonderful experience!

We had our stuff moved from Barcelona to Dubai. The entire process, from communication and packing to home delivery, was handled with excellence. Despite a massive power outage across Spain, the packing was not delayed; the team arrived at my doorstep at exactly 8:00 AM, as agreed. I was especially worried because our shipment was stored for four months during the extreme summer heat in Dubai. I expected the worst: damage, mould, unpleasant smells… but was amazed to find that all our belongings arrived in perfect condition, completely free of stains or odours, as if they had been packed just yesterday. Fantastic work! Will be happy to use Santa Fe in the future again and recommend them to our friends.

Very bad experience.

Very bad experience.
Team wasn't able to speak English, didn't care anything about us or our things.
They try to give a good initial impression with the visit. Then the real team is totally inexperienced and they damaged several items and lost many others.

International movement /SG to kl

We moved from Singapore to Malaysia via road movement and Santafe Movers was hired .

My worst move ( this being 5th across continents) . Everything from crockery to furniture chipped , broken and Bruised .
relocaters charge a bomb on international moves and are a nightmare when you Claim for your broken goods . Absolute waste
