Absolute trash facility
Don't waste your money on this place it is awful facility. No care no therapy and the treatment plan is just local NA/AA/CA meetings that you have to walk to. I had to teach myself how to eat again after attending and was still no better off. Paid for a detox and it was just cold turkey with 0 medical supervision
Feels like I was sent to North Korea…
Feels like I was sent to North Korea for treatment, staff didn't have a clue nor did Perry. Stay away from this place
The only reason I didn’t give it five…
The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because I would love it to be more affordable for those who desperately need help but can’t afford it. I went to PCP twice actually because you know I’m an addict and one of anything isn’t enough 🤣🤣🤣. One a serious note it helped me immensely as I’m still sober today . The staff there are absolutely incredible, Janet she’s just such an asset to that place amazing and hard working lady! Antonia the lady who made sure everyone is well fed ! She’s got the absolute best energy, I’ve never met anyone like her ❤️. Sofiaat , the nurse ladies, Maria , James , Chris, Amanda and Andy of course! Andy is extremely passionate and wants everyone to do well as do all of us of course! So if you’re struggling or a loved one is , give PCP a go , it works if you’re willing to put the work in. I would definitely recommend much love to all at PCP ❤️
PCP is an absolute brilliant rehab
PCP is an absolute brilliant rehab!
the dedication, commitment and hard work from every single member of staff is second to none..
arguably one of the best rehabs in UK
my son is now 2 years clean thanks to
PCP.
Dreadful
Dreadful. Filthy accommodation. Extremely dangerous lack of medical care. ALL they care about is money. I took them to court (settled out of court). These people disgust me. PLEASE avoid at all costs.
Changed my Life
I’d like to leave a review for Andy Kalli & the care workers at pcp in Luton.
I have had 4 detox’s in pcp in total. Each detox saved my life. Once I finally surrendered to the Recovery Program did I really start to listen… which I must emphasise was told to me from the very beginning.
Andy totally explains the nature of the disease of addiction , in a way I never fully understood. His advice has ALWAYS been right. Although I never always wanted to believe it. He ALWAYS has time for me no matter what time of the day or night.
The door has always been open to me for after care, advice & help.
I make daily contact with Andy . Even after 7 months of my last treatment stay. If he doesn’t hear from me. He will surely call me. He goes above & beyond his work commitments. I have phoned on advice when I don’t know what to do. He has never let me down & I know he never will.
All the care workers have been polite & most caring to me. I felt safe & secure in my stay there. The place gave me back my life & I will always be grateful for this.
They have rules & boundaries in place to protect us. I would recommend this rehab & Andy Kalli to anyone.
Kind Regards & Gratitude
Rose Johnson
Worst experience of my life leaving me with years of PTSD
You cook yourself , I would of preferred and expected a service which catered for me.
At the time they didn’t have their own 12 step service so they piggy backed on the free community services which we had to walk their threw all weathers no transport was provided.
My Key-worker at the time was decent however he didn’t stay long and I hear he left very shortly after me . He was too good.
This was some time ago when I was a patient. and this was my experience.
I was also bullied and wound up and forced to leave by police At their request however they later “made a mistake “ with later paperwork stating I left voluntarily when confronted with evidence they changed it to say I was discharged oh and they kept my medication that I brought in with me even though I requested it back.
All the best. Why aren’t I allowed to give 0 stars?
I'm still suffering from post traumatic stress of this place 6 years on out off £8000 and gave me £500 back during litigation they were making fun of the money from extended stay saying 12000 . I remember though if you look in the paper they may of been a previous bed bug problem because someone burnt the Luton branch down.
Thank you for the reply but I'd rather a FULL refund.thank you £500 of £14000 isn't acceptable if only I knew I had autism and severe PTSD back then I would of sought advice.
When I went to PCP the day before I had a cocaine induced psychosis diagnosed but a NHS doctor who prescribed me 2 days of antipsychotic meds and said if I wasn't going into what was a medical facility with a mental health nurse I would have to go to hospital.
When I got to PCP ths GP that prescribed the withdrawal drugs at 7pm when your told to come for 12 and then told he won't be long and he [the NHS GP working on the side in the evening] can't continue the mental health care and I would have to return the the facility that initially prescribed despite med containers and by staff took notice it was two days later after my phone had been taken off me and when my mental health was resurfacing the gates were locked and I couldn't call a ambulance not would they.
During the first week when your phone is taken away and the gates are locked after 8-9 for 12 hour is it still not possible to get emergency care. I was there in 2017
This review is in reference to PCP, Luton
This review is in reference to PCP, Luton and is being written jointly by the sister and mother of a former resident. Upon the reviews of other submissions it is unfathomable that some people have had experiences less than perfect. At the admission of my son he was a broken man. There was nowhere left for him to turn and thankfully he chose the right path and went to PCP. The facilities, accommodation and staff were all remarkable and far surpassed my expectations and my sons. The staff were friendly and approachable and I would like to give a huge "shout out" to Andy, who was my sons case worker. The family meetings we had were tough but rewarding and Andy was always on the end of the phone, and still is, for advice, guidance and reassurance. They help the whole family unit, not just the addict, and continue to do so even after release. After having just celebrated Christmas with my now sober son, we are looking forward to many years ahead to make memories both new and lost, thanks to PCP. My son is now in sheltered housing which was also set up by Andy and PCP so here is a huge Happy New Year to all at PCP, Luton - Thank you for saving my sons life x
Life saving
PCP is by far the best treatment centre Ive been resident at the staff really know there stuff when it comes to the disease of addiction they were very kind caring and compassionate Perry himself is a fine man who truly goes the extra mile for his clients !
I've seen some negative comments/reviews and honestly don't know how people have come to there conclusion I can only imagine they were trying to fault find from the beginning and as a result not grasped or learnt what is on offer there are some unfortunates I personally believe this is one of the best treatment centres in the country
Thank you PCP
I really wanted to reply to the fake 5…
I really wanted to reply to the fake 5 star reviews but no luck. PCP is a money business. they are all there to pay bills. Perry is a self serving parasite. His daughter (rightly so ) had nothing with his maid. He died a lonely old man
Said a representative will contact me…
Said a representative will contact me and nothing !
Robbed me and treated me terrible
Defo worse rehab ever and worst staff !
Amanda stunk of alcohol and micheal is the rudest person I’ve ever met !
Took more money than they was meant to charge me !
Worked first time but dodgy reviews now
N/A, I went there a few years ago it worked. But I've just got back on the drink due to personal problems. Trying it again. Perry seemed really keen to get mu deposit and give me a date. From what I've read on here it's really gone down hill and all about money. I'll give it a week or two depending who's there but if I don't like it I'm out and ill make sure I get my money back.
PCP Luton has made such a difference to…
PCP Luton has made such a difference to my Recovery journey – I will be always grateful to every member of the PCP team as well as the peers/friends I made there who helped pick me back up following a relapse – it’s renewed my love for Sobriety, the fellowships and everything the program has to offer.
I came in broken/scared and day by day I started to find myself/build my confidence with the caring support of those around me!
Originally, I came to PCP Luton for a 2 detox and extended an extra week due to a variety of factors:
• Everyone (peers and staff at PCP) makes you feel really welcome – which if you suffer anxiety really helps as after the first day I settled in really quickly.
• You fall into the structure of getting up/going to bed at certain times which is helpful and have days filled with workshops, Step papers (your own & listening to others) as well as attending 4 physical fellowship meetings each week.
• The medical team are great – the nurses Winne and Akita made me feel safe and comfortable and supported me throughout my stay even when I stopped my detox medication.
• The counselling team – Amanda, Andy (Manager) and Mandy are wonderful. I have been to PCP last year for a detox where the team was different, and I struggled with surrendering, so I relapsed months later. Having been in and out of the fellowship rooms for the last 5 years I highly recommend the program (12 steps) and workshops at PCP:
o They do Step papers for Steps 1-3 enabling you to really dig deep into your consequences, the problem and then the solution.
o Workshops include things like gratitude, big book reading, meditation etc.
o Psychology workshops are now included around triggers, recovery, building trust, change etc.
o They encourage peers to challenge each other’s behaviours which is super useful as it helps you to remove any barriers/self-defensiveness you may have (as well as receiving feedback from the counselling team themselves).
o They provide a safe space for you to get your emotions back – I was able to cry, get annoyed/angry, be happy/joyous.
• There is an Afrercare (weekly video call at PCP) which now includes current clients as well as clients who have left which lessens my anxiety for attending as I’ve already been part of it within PCP itself.
• The food (cooked by the lovely) Antonia is nutritional and good for healing the physical problems we are suffering from due to our addiction.
• Andy (the manager) also helped me to reconnect with my husband and start building the trust back (also extends to family members/loved ones) which has given me such a solid foundation to come home to for which I’ll be eternally grateful.
I can definitely see the benefit of staying 3 months at PCP to get into a good routine, good clean time under you to build more resilience though I was lucky enough to go into PCP with some important things in place (Sponsor, regular meetings I was attending near me) allowing me to readjust back to life.
I would highly recommend PCP Luton to anyone who is struggling with their addiction/alcoholism whether this is your first time or following a relapse – it’s a safe and comfortable space to start your life again in a super positive way :)
PCP Cardiff - Wonderful
A life-changing experience for this recovering addict.
Empathetic, caring and honest support from every one of their wonderful staff. Great food and comradeship from your fellow guests.
I've learnt so much and been so moved by what I've learnt, they will stay in my life and my heart forever.
Beautiful.
Hard work and challenging but supports…
Hard work and challenging but supports the person to really self analyse and reflect whilst building up their responsibilities slowly. Very experienced, knowledgeable staff. Thanks for everything.
PCP Cardiff
PCP Cardiff, So grateful we chose this place the staff were fantastic and very caring the food was amazing and i was provided with everything i needed. Maria Dave Dan Linda Peter Elsi Rhi & Dav Thank you!
I arrived at PCP nervous and broken
I arrived at PCP nervous and broken. From day one the councillors, staff and group were warm, friendly and welcoming. Within days I felt safe and knew I was in the right place to start my own journey to recovery. Special thanks to Andy who was a brilliant key worker and councillor, teaching me all the life skills I have already started to use now I’m out of treatment. I have learnt so much about my illness and myself in such a short space of time, through group sessions, 121’s and spending time with people just like me, I wish I had done this years ago. Thanks to all at PCP, I can’t thank you enough.
PCP cardiff saved my life!!
PCP cardiff saved my life!!! I started as a broken soul, lost in the grip of addiction and through the compassion, kindness, understanding, knowledge and wisdom pcp took me through a life changing process. I had no life when i entered treatment and today I’m living, one day at time, life on life’s terms clean and actually happy! i express and will continue to express my gratitude to pcp cardiff, every single day. Every single member of staff from the admission team to the counsellors to the support workers to the cooks played a significant role in my journey. I’m so blessed to have met you all and I hope anyone reading this, who is powerless over drugs/alcohol and believe like I did that there had to be another way, can take the courage and get to pcp. X gem. X
Make the step
I came into PCP as a scared 19 year old completely flat on my face and lost in my addiction, this place has worked me a miracle it really has. Andy, Micheal & Amanda are the most amazing people and they have helped me so much in learning about why my mind thinks the it does and helped me on the days I’ve felt scared and low. I’ve met so many great people in here and made some brilliant friends, I’m just so thankful I made this step as I was so arrogant about coming to rehab - but it was the best decision I’ve ever made. 100% recommend, if you need help - make the step.
I’m really grateful to Andy…
I’m really grateful to Andy Michael,Amanda and the whole team at pcp. I feel like I have been giving the tools to lead a sober life. I would recommend to anyone struggling.
