Gave these guys £500 up front to appeal our business rates. Heard nothing. They won't respond to emails or return phone calls. I contacted the local authority to find out what they had done. It appears they have requested a rate review, which was granted, then they never followed it up with evidence and/or reasons why the rates should be reduced. The deadline passed and the appeal was rejected. Now I cannot appeal the rates for the same reasons they stated in their initial request to the local authority. These people are quick to take your money and that's it. I suspect that is all they are about, I doubt they have any intention of actually acting on anybody's behalf......Avoid like the plague!!!!!

Avoid, total scammers. Took our money and now won't respond to our calls or emails. Just been informed by the valutaion office that our business rates appeal has been dismissed because Ratesandrentals did not repsond.

Bullies and a waste of money
You know that saying if it's too good to be true it probably is ! Well this is the case with this company. They draw you in and promise you a reduction as they have someone high up working for them in the Valuation Office then they just blame a back log when nothing happens for over 3 months. They are Bullies and even threaten court if you don't pay when they have done nothing ! The surveyor was here for 10 minutes and I had already told them it was inconvienant so he just turned up anyway. I have emailed them on numerous occasions and even pointed out that with the changes in the law we would have a reduction with no help from them but they don't believe it. My advice is have a look on the GOV website and do your own calculation. Don't waste your money they are just bullies !!!! Shame on them !!!!

Solid reduction
My reduction wasn't set in stone but they said they will do their best. After measuring up they said it was a good chance of getting a reduction and after about 8 weeks, the reduction came through. Very happy with the results and will be recommending rates and rental to my business colleagues.

failed application
They came in and told us they had an ex VOA high rank staff working for them and that the application would be guaranteed. Far from it, we were left with a failed application and the fee gone. Do not issue cheque if you want to waive good bye to it. Lesson learned. Poor communication from start to finish and yes, again, failed application due to minimal work carried out by Rates and Rental company
