Total waste of time. Another outlay of money with high expectations promises and no physical evidence that they actually did any work.
Delay after delay. Wish we had seen these reviews beforehand.

Since paying the money they have done absolutely nothing they sent a surveryor who we have tried to contact but he has not replied to any calls or emails, they are very difficult to get hold of in their main office. We have lost confidence in the company and we have now requested our full payment of £1200 to be returned if this is not received we will be taking legal advice and looking to report to trading standards, a CCJ would also be issued.

Don't go near this company,and definately don't sign anything,like I stupidly did ,I did not realise that any agreement which involves business to business (however small) has absolutely no cooling off period at all ,After days of relentless phone calls and threatening emails from them they're taking me to court for £995 +expenses for which they did absolutely nothing -and as long as they can get away with it they will continue to help themselves to other people's hard earned money ,

Utterly disgusted by there nasty tactics , bombarded with emails and calls eventhough didn’t agree anything on paper. They’ve now issued a ccj against my Co for not paying, THEY’ve not carried out any flipping work

Do not use this company, completely misled us and mis-sold us. The staff are so aggressive and threatening. Unacceptable. STAY AWAY!!

WARNING
I paid them over £1000.00 in September 2017.
Then I heard nothing.
They did not reply to my emails for ages.
Phone calls were answered with 'someone will get back to you later today with a full update' or 'its in negotiation' but of course no one ever did.
When I contacted the Valuation Office they said no appeal had been registered.
Eventually when I threatened them by asking for my money back they then did the bare minimum of work and of course the appeal failed.
There was a story on Radio 4 about the conduct of this company a few months ago, how I wish I had heard that before I gave them any money.
They also had the cheek to complain about my earlier review on this site.

Business rate reduction done and dusted within 12 weeks. See you in another couple years for the second round.

Virtually no contact from these guys since Sept 2016 they withdrew their rates reduction appeal with the VOA and is now trying to charge me £4000 because VOA has done a national re-eveluation and they reduced my business rates.. Rates and rental are now saying I owe them commission even though they did nothing to get the reduction.. They state it's in the contract although the surveyor Didn't go through the contract and said on his visit it's basically no win no commission and 30% would be charged if I got a "refund" of previous years nothing mentioned about commission on reductions made by VOA of their own backs.. My business is virtually bankrupt this will close the doors permanently thanks Rates and Rental great job.. Rip off merchants at their best !!! And yet again.this morning another threatening phone call from Roger extremely rude and condescending even after explaining on.the verge of bankruptcy his answer was "so your just trying to get out of paying" kept talking over me and spouting about the contract and that I was stupid to sign it of I didn't fully read it.. which I wasn't given the option to do I might add.... bully boy tactics comes to mind

Paid, then absolutely no contact.

Sold the world by a freelance ''Surveyor'' and then didn't hear anything for about 7 months. I emailed many times asking for updates and called numerous time and told that a surveyor would call me back very soon. Never happened.
Stay well clear of this ''company''. VERY bad business.
No idea where my money went to.

Didnt turn up for my tribunal, not answering phone now. What a joke. Dont trust this company. Need to be reported. Very keen and helpful until you have paid them the fee. They just didnt do what they said they were going to do. I feel I they have not provided or done what they said they would.

Waste of our money and a lot of money.
When you call they lye endlessly either its, we'll call you back or its been dealt with.
They also tell you that these bad reviews are by old staff members this is also a lye as we are not.
Wish I had read these reviews because I wouldn't of touched them with a barge pole.

Got us a reasonable rebate which was back dated quite a while.
The last company that tried failed to get anything

After trying to take us to court for not paying their fees for actually doing nothing. (they did not file the court papers in the end) last year, they have phoned me today, professing to be able to save me loads of money on my rates - the cheek and brass neck of them or is this just plain incompetence to try and catch me a second time.
The words I would use to describe this company have been altered so as not to offend them, but I SERIOUSLY WOULD NOT TRUST ANY THING THEY SAY, they will charge you a high fee and do nothing to get you a reduction.

Reductions obtained 2x (2011 and 2018). Happy to recommend them for any future dealings.

Do not use this company. Rates and Rental Ltd are a small and unorganised company that are often impossible to get hold off and do not provide a service that is anywhere near acceptable. They purposely delay the rates submission to maximise their profits and can take in excess of 12 months just to submit something that you yourself (or another company) could do in a matter of days.

The office I write my gaming content from was a little on the expensive side. Got in contact with rates and rental and was told they could get me a nice reduction and did.

Reduced my rates considerably (almost £5k off per annum). Thanks Rate and Rental.

Excellent customer service, reduction obtained in 2010 and 2017 saving our company thousands. Timescales a little longer than expected however worth the wait.

I hesitantly bought into this service because some reviews were lacking credit but I placed my money wisely. Today I got an email from the VOA office confirming my rates reduction and I have saved approx £5.5k off from annual rates bill so we thank Rates & Rental Surveyors for this great service.

My only advice to new clients is sit back and wait. Its a timely service but Rates and Rental Surveyors know what they are doing even when you think otherwise.
