Real relationships, both with the farms and our customers, are essential to Rare Tea. This is what we believe defines direct trade.
We focus on quality, sampling the finest and only selecting the best: our range is small but carefully chosen, seeking out tea-gardens and farmers crafting the most delicious leaves. We are extremely lucky and proud to work with unique farms producing extraordinary tea.
Some of our tea is very rare, with only a few kilos produced each year. Others can be grown on a larger scale. All of our tea is crafted by skilled men and women on independent farms, not industrially processed by large agribusinesses. We buy harvests from farmers, not a commodity from brokers.

I love dealing with the Rare Tea company. It’s so exciting seeing all the teas and learning how to make them, so they taste brilliant. I’ve now got the glass teapot so I can watch the leaves expand. I see clearly when it’s ready to drink.

The Sencha green tea is great (only discovered how much I really liked this a few months ago, when given some Rare Tea Company tea to drink).
In fact there's something cool about the whole infusing process.
The clear teapot is good too - makes it easy to know how much, and I can see the infusion happening.

Excellent tea
I’ve been a loyal fan of The Rare Tea Company for some time now, and I love their Speedy Breakfast Tea—it's the perfect start to my day!
Recently, I moved house and forgot to update my default delivery address. As a result, my tea was sent to my old address. I contacted customer service, and I can only praise them for their outstanding efficiency and care. Niamh handled my query and was incredibly helpful throughout the process. As soon as the tea was returned to them, they promptly resent it to my new address without any fuss.
Exceptional service paired with exceptional tea—The Rare Tea Company continues to impress. Highly recommended!

LIFE CHANGING TEA
I bought a 10 canister collection to go with the book Ms. Lovell wrote called Infused.
At first sip, this tea was life changing!
Definitely a WOW moment! Every cup since has been a delight.
The book just made my experience better. The recipes really helped me figure out how to get wonderful flavors.
I am a convert to loose leaf tea, now a BIG FAN of Rare Tea Company and I am raving about it to all of my friends!

The Rare Earl Grey is exceptional in…
The Rare Earl Grey is exceptional in its intricate flavours. This is hands down the most sublime tea I have ever devoured. The Rare Hibiscus Flowers has the most exquisite colour and intensity, I drink it unsweetened but that does leave a slightly bitter aftertaste - I just adore it. The level of service from the Rare Tea Company was flawless and impeccable. Thank you!!!

Disappointing
I was very excited to get this tea after trying it last year. Unfortunately I couldn’t taste the bergamot at all. I believe I was sent old tea because I tried steeping 3 minutes and sometimes even more in the hope that I would be able to enjoy my earl grey tea. Really disappointed
