This was a gift
This was a gift, so I have no knowledge of the purchasing experience. However, whilst the idea seems great, and it was given with love and consideration, I feel the item was VASTLY overpriced- 5 test tubes, a light wooden stand and , worst of all for a supposedly planet friendly company, a nylon/plastic bristled bottle brush.....WHY??
I feel my gift giver gave his gift choice an awful lot more thought than the Purple Turtle Co have given their business. Doesn't seem to add up in my head, and as for taking 3 plastic bottles out of circulation, I do this ( plus) pretty much every day when I go for a walk. Come on guys, lets have some honesty.

Thanks for your feedback, obviously this is disappointing to hear but never-the-less, we appreciate you calling out things that you believe could be done sustainability better.
With regard to pricing, we do feel we are competitive when it comes to similar products, but the reality is if you want to find alternatives cheaper, you probably can. The difference is we do have slightly higher costs because we use sustainable materials which do cost more.
Instead of using plastic bubble wrap for our glass vases we use expandable hive paper. Instead of plastic tape, plastic shipping bags and polystyrene fill, we use paper tape, recycled paper-padded bags and recycled paper filler.
As you mentioned we also donate funds to our partner to help clean up the ocean and donate to a lot of local community fundraisers. I understand recovering 3 plastic bottles does not sound like much, but this gets recovered directly from the ocean and recycled, which unfortunately does have a slightly higher cost to it than recovering it from land. You can track all the impact we have had on our website, we are very transparent with this and it’s verified by our partner Greenspark.
We also do a lot around creating educational content online to help raise awareness for sustainability issues, you’ll see this across our social media and website where we are active every week.
Your feedback is valid on the plastic cleaning brushes for the vases, we have looked into alternatives but unfortunately there are limited options without drastically increasing the price of the gift set. We have looked at the alternative options available but unfortunately none of them are viable or vegan, and this is also an important value for our customers. It’s always difficult to get the balance right when selecting materials between sustainability and keeping costs affordable, and this is one of those decisions we had to make.
We really do try our best to get that balance of sustainability and affordability right, as our mission is to also make sustainable shopping accessible for as many people as possible, and that does come with some trade-offs.
If you have any known suggestions for alternatives for the brushes we’d love to hear your thoughts to see if it’s something we have missed.
At Purple Turtle Co we are a family run business, and by family I mean just two of us. We are a business, but we do it because we love making an impact in something we care about. That being said, we know we are not perfect, we just try us best to make the best decisions we can.
So thank you again for calling out something which you believed to be dishonest, there is definitely a lot of greenwashing that goes on so we always champion people voicing concerns. We’ll have to agree to disagree on the comment around dishonesty but thanks for healthy discussion.

Great company.
Although there was a hiccup out of control by purple turtle. Purple Turtle have been amazing! They found a solution and their communication was amazing!
What could have been a terrible experience has now become a good experience and I would use the company again.

Great Gifts
Delivery was fast and the packaging very good. This is the second gift I’ve purchased from Purple Turtle and would definitely say the quality of the gifts are great. Would definitely recommend and will be ordering again.

I received a little crochet positive octopus today from my sis in law an it’s really made me feel very loved and cared for. Such a lovely idea and I am so lucky to have wonderful people. This is such a wonderful idea to show people you care and do something positive.

Received a propagation station as a birthday gift. Packaging was so cute and I can’t wait to start using. Also love that everything is planet friendly. Would definitely purchase additional products or give as a gift.

Great gift from a great company!
I received a propagation gift for my birthday from Purple Turtle. It was wrapped beautifully and the contents arrived intact. I really like the fact that there is a guide on how to propagate and a free 6 month membership to the Greg app. The gift looks great and well made. Just hope I can do it justice!
One final note, I like Purple Turtle’s approach to their business and sustainable gifting.
