I first used Pure Theatre around 8 years ago for a smaller audio setup in my house, and Chris was brilliant even back then. What stood out straight away was that he wasn’t trying to upsell — he genuinely wanted to understand what I needed and recommend the right solution.

Fast forward to now, I’ve built a garden games room with a golf simulator and home cinema, and I went straight back to them. Once again, Chris has been exceptional from start to finish.

This wasn’t a straightforward setup either — I had a lot of back and forth around projector options, screen size, and how to make it all work for both golf simulation and a proper cinema experience. I must have emailed him 25–30 times with drawings and questions, and every time he took the time to respond properly and guide me through it.

The end result is spot on. The projector works perfectly for both uses, the sound system is excellent, and everything just works the way it should.

What I really like is that they care about getting it right, not just making a sale. You feel like you’re getting proper advice rather than being sold to.

You can see why they have such strong reviews. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them and will definitely be using them again.

Chris showed a 100% TOTALLY UNBIASED approach and I was surprised to find the Sony & JVC projectors I was interested in were still in sealed boxes. He showed me other projectors for comparison, and they were far less expensive and he left it to me to decide after some side by side comparisons. I was not pressured in any way and Chris left it to me to make contact if I decided to go ahead with a purchase. I did buy a JVC after having time to consider the expensive cost. Delivery was prompt and support as been 1st Class. Highly recommend Pure Theatre.

Pure Theatre were very helpful and took us through a range of their services. Chris was our point of contact and was great. Our clients are delighted with their concealed ceiling projector. These guys are definitely the best on the market and i would thoroughly recommend them.

I purchased my home theatre equipment (projector, cables, motorised lift and screen) some years ago and it’s been brilliant. Five stars for the pre-sales advice and build quality of the products they design.
However, when I've encountered issues later on with the setup the post sales help has been 1 to 2 stars. The individual was very rude and disinterested. I would highly recommend their products, just a shame about the after sales attitude.

Update following feedback received from PureTheatre (“PT”) on 17th Feb ’25. I would like to clarify my experience and original feedback comments.

As stated by PT, I purchased the majority of my cinema equipment (projector, lift, motorised screen and first HDMI cable) in June 2015. I still have these products today (minus the cable) which is testament to the longevity and durability of this equipment, something I recognised in my initial comments.

My poor experience with PTs post-sales related to two separate occasions where I had faulty HDMI cables (supplied by PT in 2015 and 2017 respectively). Both cables came with lifetime manufacturer guarantees in addition to Pure Theatres own 5 year guarantee.

I have never sought to attribute blame for the cable failures (cables and equipment fail over time, fact) but simply help resolving the issue by discussing potential solutions. In both instances, when I called to discuss the issue with the cables, PT couldn’t have been less helpful and disinterested.

The most recent issue started in Sept ‘24 when I had a problem with my projector. I reached out to PT and they suggested trying a different cable and the secondary HDMI port - sage advice but I had already tried these options with little success so we discussed options for a replacement projector that would fit in my existing lift - extremely helpful discussion.

I opted to get the projector fixed elsewhere as an interim solution before I considered investing significant sums on a new projector. After refitting the projector, it would only display images from certain input devices which had me baffled. This is when I called PT, as the supplier of the equipment, on 17th February ‘25 to get some expert advice (over the phone) as to what the possible issue could be / what my potential options were. It was during this call that I experienced the rude and disinterested attitude from PTs technical department. This was similar to my previous experience in 2017.

I always believe in being fair and balanced in reviews, hence why I called out the positive aspects of my experience. But for clarity, my feedback was based on the on post-sales interaction on the two separate occasions I have had issues with cables supplied by PT. It’s very disappointing to see their response below.

I have to say - now I see what all the fuss is about.. I purchased our kit from Pure Theatre primarily based on the Trustpilot scores.

Not only is every part of the products manufactured with love, care and an abundance of common sense, but the aftercare support from Chris and the team has been fantastic.

We had a couple of unforeseen challenges with our builders damaging the screen material, and a faulty power brick for the lift, and Chris helped us resolve each of these issues for us in a very timely manner.

We can't wait to start enjoying our new home theatre !

Outstanding experience from the information gathering stage to installation and enjoying the final product. Chris at Pure Theatre was kind enough to listen and respond to my endless questions about the company’s projector lifts. Based on his advice we ordered and had it shipped to the US. The price was reasonable and significantly better than some of the competition for recessed lifts. The shipping was much faster than I anticipated and we had to wait a few days for final prep of the area before install. Since we were doing this ourselves, I emailed and called Chris several times and he would always patiently provide a response that always worked. The lift itself is an amazingly compact little piece of equipment and does an excellent job of concealing the projector so that our living room has a clean look. Will absolutely order future products from Pure Theatre when we upgrade.

They did a great job, best thing about it was the cleanliness. Wouldn't have known they'd been in the room.

I commissioned a custom rackmount shelf from Pure Theatre, and the finished product was much better than I could have imagined. The attention to detail was fantastic.

Chris called me to discuss my exact requirements, scanned my device, and produced the shelf with millimetre precision.

Delivery was great, came right on time. Product is excellent and I would recommend to everyone who wants quality and good service.

I bought a projector from them 4 years ago and at the time had a full demo of all of their projectors and sound systems with explanations of the differences between the projectors and sound systems. I recently went back to buy a new projector and was able to take my existing projector there to compare with the latest projectors to understand the differences and ensure I was making the right choice. I received excellent advice and at no point was there any sales pressure to buy. Chris, who owns the company, is a passionate AV fan and is more than happy to share his experience to help you make the right choices. Highly recommended!

I have used pure theatre for products and they are quick and efficient in sending them out, also they are competitively priced.

Both Chris and Mick were extremely helpful in first selecting the right cinema screen, projector and speakers for the 'cinema room' and then also talking my electricians through the installation. in fact it was so good, I ordered a further 4 speakers for the ceiling in my kitchen/diner!!!

If you are reading this review you are probably a home cinema convert already but if in doubt, be under no illusion that setting up a home cinema is a very worthwhile venture. It creates a whole new level of home entertainment and recreational activity that can’t be sourced from any TV and if done right, at a flick of a switch everything can be discreetly hidden away for when the in-laws come around.

I found Pure Theatre on an internet search in 2014. I wanted a discreet set up and needed to find a lift to house my projector and a screen that would retract and be out of view when not in use . My first home cinema suppled by Pure Theatre served me amazingly for eight years. Over those years I watched thousands of hours of entertainment from sad movies to uplifting true stories and super hero adventures. The mechanics of the Pure Theatre lift and the screen were flawless, the aesthetics were unrivalled in my view, particularly the lift which is unequalled by any of the competition out there. The combination of lift and screen work seamlessly together, the match and fit has been perfect.

So this year I decided to increase the size of the lift to house a new 4K projector.
There was no debate, Pure Theatre have now supplied my second install. The knowledge, support and customer service remains exemplary and frankly I am a life time Customer!!
The new CR50 lift is beautiful! I was more excited about the lift than the projector!! (Well almost) :)

So if in two minds whether the initial install work is worth it, trust me, it is and trust Pure Theatre to find the right solution for you and provide all the advice and support you need.
