What a shame! I tried to move away from Google and bought an annual subscription to get the whole service package from Proton. While Proton email performance has issues and tries hard to catchup, Proton Pass is just a sham. Half of the day it is not working, the sync between devices is delayed, sometimes it does not recognize form fields for auto-complete and you have to manually copy your credentials and details, sometimes you are not even able to pull out your data to view them. Some websites are not recognized at all or recognized as other service suggesting you auto-fill for other services instead.

The extensions for browser are even more tragic. Down most of the time.

While Proton is positioning themselves as a privacy-focused competitor to Google they're not even an inch close to replace them.

Apparently, their servers can't handle bigger loads and just go offline leaving you with no access, sometimes for hours.

I wish I could get my money back and close my account!

Ca fait 3 mois que j'utilise Proton Pass Plus et globalement je suis très déçu.
Outre les soucis d'ergonomie du logiciel qui sont assez agaçants, le plus ennuyeux ce sont les gros défauts de mise à jour.
Exemple comme changer un MDP sur Proton et s'apercevoir ensuite que Proton ne l'a pas enregistré. Et aussi le comportement assez erratique sur mobile via l'app ....

Everything I ever dreamt of in a password manager. Proton pass is very underrated, probably the best product Proton has. It has made my life so much easier, I loved it from day 1. Porting all my passwords there was quick, changing them to secure ones (As most were reused) took some time, but 100% worth it. It has brought peace of mind and great simple experience for a very reasonable cost.

My spirits to help Proton and support them with money for services has gone down to 0 at the moment.

I just uninstall all the Proton apps, began a brand new session, browser extensions checked and was on all these days and still not working!

I still use the 2 years VPN but after days of trouble, already did brand new Windows install and the protonpass is just not filling in randompasswords and if it does then its not adjusting it in it's own program.

So when you want to open your protonmail it says you you have to connect protonpass but you are already logged in there and not remembering the right password... you have to do the whole process of getting a NEW password again.

It just won't remember the new password. Just because it is a lot to explain, doesn't mean you can just skip reading it and ask me again.

I used ProtonPass email alias feature exactly as advertised: to protect my privacy, manage my digital footprint, and compartmentalize my accounts. However, without any prior warning about hidden technical limits, their automated system completely blocked my access for allegedly creating "too many" aliases.
Because of this sudden block, I currently have financial funds trapped in a third-party platform. I desperately need an email confirmation sent to one of my existing ProtonPass aliases to withdraw my money.
I contacted their support team explaining the critical nature of this issue and asked for a simple, temporary 48-hour unlock of my existing alias just to recover my funds. They completely refused. Instead of providing a solution, they hide behind rigid Terms and Conditions and automated bot-like responses, showing zero willingness to help a legitimate user avoid financial damage.
This is a clear case of false advertising. ProtonPass sells you a tool to "securely manage your digital life," but their aggressive, flawed anti-spam system will lock you out of your own data and hold your accounts hostage.
If you are considering ProtonPass, DO NOT use their email alias feature for anything important, especially not for financial platforms or crypto accounts. If their automated system flags you by mistake, their customer service will abandon you and you will lose your money.

Na een grondige vergelijking met andere bekende aanbieders ben ik overgestapt naar Proton Pass, en dat had ik veel eerder moeten doen. Waar sommige negatieve reviews de plank volledig misslaan, zie ik hier een product van absolute topklasse.

Wat Proton Pass voor mij de beste keuze maakt:
Overzichtelijke Layout: De interface is fantastisch. Het is groot, duidelijk en zeer overzichtelijk. Voor iemand die veel accounts moet beheren, is dit visuele gemak essentieel. Het oogt zeer professioneel.

Maximale Beveiliging: De combinatie van Proton Pass met Proton Mail is simpelweg onverslaanbaar. Je voelt aan alles dat je gegevens hier echt in veilige (Zwitserse) handen zijn.

Professionele uitstraling: De layout en de geboden opties zijn van een niveau dat je ook bij grote bedrijven zou verwachten. Het werkt intuïtief en snel.

Ik ga voor de beste deal en de hoogste veiligheid, en die heb ik hier gevonden. Er is momenteel simpelweg geen betere wachtwoordkluis op de markt. Veiligheid kost geld, maar bij Proton krijg je daar een superieur product voor terug!

I had never used any other password manager before. Previously, I only used the built-in password manager on my device, and even then I had to use the default browser just to keep my passwords synced. Now I’m using Proton Pass, and it turns out to be much easier and also works across devices. Plus, I often go to internet cafés, so it was really tiring to keep importing passwords back and forth or having to use a specific browser all the time. That’s why I finally decided to use Proton Pass.

Proton Pass ist für MacOS leider nicht brauchbar. Es gibt zwar eine OSX Version, die sich aber, im Gegensatz zur IOS Version, nicht in das Betriebssystem integriert.

Man kann in den Systemeinstellungen nicht einstellen, dass Proton Pass als PW-Manager und für Passkeys genutzt werden soll. Angeblich gibt es keine Möglichkeit, das zu integrieren. MSecure z.B. schafft das und funktioniert. Mehrere Anfragen konnten leider auch keine plausible Erklärung liefern, warum Proton das nicht kann oder nicht will. Wer sich in der reinen Mac-Welt bewegt, muss sich leider andere Lösungen suchen, um nicht ständig die Welten zu wechseln oder doppelte Daten zu pflegen.

probably the best free password manager right now. there is some room for improvement with detecting logins for autofill, especially on android, but it's ok.

Ich bin schon länger bei Protonmail und finde die Produkte bis jetzt gut. Und auch die Preisleistung ist gut.
Ebenfalls ist Protonpass für mich gut, habe Bitwarden und werde wechseln. das ausfüllen automatisch funktioniert fast immer mit protonpass.

I have been with Proton for some time, and have no complaints, but recently and for a long interval I was asked to put in my extra password, which i have forgotten.
I am still able to access the Account in Proton, so I went in on the assumption I could turn that off or reset it. But you cannot, you have to raise a support ticket. They then send you a huge list of questions to respond to, before they will help. Not limited to these below:

Is it just me or does this seem very intrusive, of them to be requesting this information.

After building my home server this year I initially had a plan to self-host Vaultwarden Password Manager. After checking out opinions of a few trusted bloggers I decided it is too much hassle to keep the server secure especially when all my passwords and account information are there. If at any point the server is hacked where my websites are self-hosted it one thing, but when it comes to passwords to everything it is too much of a risk in my opinion. After checking out the prices for Ptoton bundles I realized that I can switch my VPN from ExpressVPN to Proton VPN as well and I will even get more apps / services. So I decided to try Proton bundle starting with paid Unlimited bundle plan. I have not yet tried the Drive, but I am in love with Proton Mail, Proton Pass and Proton Authenticator. After a few days I upgraded to Duo bundle to increase the storage and for extra email addresses, even though I am the only user. GUI and choice of themes is amazing. No steep learning curve. I got used to it so fast! I rarely leave reviews, only when I am indeed in love with the service or a product, and this is the case here. Highly recommend Proton bundles!
