I experienced both the Sonoma and Napa Platypus tours, and they were nothing short of amazing! Gary and Jason were incredible tour guides who showed us wineries that we would have never thought to go to! It's easy to book a tasting at one of the larger, more well-known wineries in this region, but much more challenging to know which smaller spots to check out. They take out all of the guesswork and arrange for time in some of the best spots in the Sonoma and Napa regions.

All the tastings were well-organized, with a variety of wines to choose from. The employees at each were friendly, fun, and accommodating. Gary and Jason were both so knowledgeable in all things wine, as well as the Sonoma and Napa areas. The bus was very comfortable, and the tour group sizes were small.

The lunches provided were delicious, and Gary and Jason were able to take care of each dietary need for all guests. They also stored all purchases safely in the bus. We had so much fun! I highly recommend Platypus Tours (especially with Gary and Jason!), and already can't wait to recommend these to my clients, and to be back in California to experience them again myself!

The entire experience was delightful. From the smooth pick up time, the organized tours, to the fresh lunch in a lovely setting, the day was perfect. We liked the winery selection, each had their own twist on showcasing their wines. We liked being able to go into the vineyard and learn first hand about the grapes. our tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate.

The wineries we visited were all interesting and different. The small group allowed us to feel connected and enjoy one another’s company. Great memories for certain.

Casey was very knowledgeable about the area, wine and vineyards. He made it fun and the group we ended up being with were fun as well! Recommend and would do this tour again!

We had a great experience at all of the wineries

Andy Hyman was a gracious, knowledgeable guide. He truly educated our group about wine. The picnic lunch was delicious, and I appreciated my being given a vegetarian selection.

Excellent communication, very knowledgeable and entertaining guide, and logistically very smooth. Great selection of vineyards in North Sonoma.

The instructions for accessing the ferry and the bus after the ferry ride in Vallejo were very detailed and helpful. The bus picked us up promptly as our ferry arrived at the Vallejo terminal. Our tour guide, Andy, was friendly and informative. He even made booklets that we could take home that had Wine trivia and fun questions. All of the wineries were small wineries, with varying levels of information given. The first winery, Backstage, situated our tastings outside amongst the trees with the vineyards yards away. Excellent tasting, the most informative of all vintners. Box lunch was next, and rather bland. Second winery, Merryvale, situated its tasting indoors. Beautiful setting, but least amount of information from the winery regarding the wine. Last winery, Bread and Butter, was also indoors. The person pouring the wine was very friendly, informative, and outgoing. Lots of information about the wine was given. I enjoyed this tasting. The drive back to the ferry was good. One thing that I think could be improved was to bring us back to the terminal a bit earlier, and thus catch the earlier ferry back to San Francisco. I felt that there was some wasted time, and if the timeline had it been more tightly connected we would have been able to return to San Francisco an hour earlier. It was a long day. Overall though it was an enjoyable day.

The entire experience was terrific. From the drivers (Courtney and Rob) to the small family wineries that were chosen was awesome. We actually went on two tours and they made sure that we would not have repeat winery visits. We really connected with the folks at the wineries and were able to purchase some really unique wines (also we put our special wine box through as luggage and all the bottles made it through without issue!!!). We had fun connecting with the other folks on the tour as well - which made it that much more interesting!

Looking forward to heading back to the valley and taking more tours in the future!

Our tour included 12 people total, with 6 being in our group. It was a fun group of folks led by our tour guide, Linda. I have been on a lot of tours in my day and I must say Linda was exceptionally knowledgeable about the area and wines. We went to three wineries and we all felt the first and last were amazing. It was a good value and an excellent way to learn about Napa. We even got to pick grapes and sample different types.

They collected us from our Hotel our host was a guy called Lewis he made the day, we visited 3 x wineries all of them good and we had an extremely enjoyable day I would strongly recommend this company and hats off to Lewis he was great!

Gary was a great guide. He chose 3 wonderful wineries and was very knowledgeable about the wines and the history of the area. We enjoyed interacting with the others on the tour. We would highly recommend Platypus Tours.

We had a great time on the tour visiting places we never would have found on our own. Our host, Steve, was terrific sharing tidbits about Napa and the wine growing process. The provided lunch was excellent. I recommend this for anyone that wants to enjoy the tasting experience, have a few surprises and not have to worry about driving after imbibing.

Our drive, Linda, was high energy and had a lot of good information to share. The wineries had options for different tastes (white and red). Great option of you want to try wineries outside of Sonoma and don't want to drive.

The tour was fantastic. Andrew our driver and guide kept us informed and entertained. He was very knowledgeable about wines and also the wineries we visited. Wonderful experience. Highly recommend to anyone interested in Napa wine tasting.
