I've never had an issue with the website. The moderation team is great but sometimes they are a bit slow to fix issues with names or files not working.

I scanned many files with virus total, there is no malware detected. This is a rumor spread. The entire website is also FREE.

The website is great for crafters on a budget who cannot afford to pay $$$ just to preview a pattern and see if it is something they are interested in. Especially for knitting patterns.

There are also many patterns out of print and not available easily, patterns from the 50's and so forth that are old and rare. If you are looking for something hard to find or unique, I recommend registering and having a look.

In my personal experience, PINDIY raised a lot of red flags. I encountered copyright issues staight away and possible security risks, so I want to share a heads-up for others.

I also noticed many five-star reviews saying things like “I shop here all the time,” but a lot of those reviewers only had one review on their profile, which came across as suspicious to me.

When I looked around online, I found many other people describing similar concerns and sharing some pretty unsettling stories. 100% some of the patterns on there are not legitimately sourced as I know the designers very well and its gutting for them to be ripped off like this.

Because of all this, I personally recommend avoiding the site. Better to stay safe than sorry.

I've been using the site for a while now and never gotten any malware. all files are checked by moderators on the site, so no, there aren't files with viruses you might download. the only part of a crochet/knitting pattern that can be protected by copyright are the original photos, so sharing patterns in the community is not illegal. sorry that some creators are so upset by that.

Pindiy is perfectly safe. Just a community of likeminded people sharing patterns without profit in mind, unlike the many greedy pattern designers who charged top $ for a sphere with two legs. The reviews saying "malware" are false and probably pattern designers themselves lol

They steal crochet patterns despite the copyright. It's time to get a lawyer and stop this site!!
If you let "angeli86" ( and friends) post patterns from hard working (top) designers from the Netherlands you should be taken to court!!

There are a ton of stolen paid patterns from hard-working crochet designers! Don’t understand why this site is not shut down yet!? Please do not try to get any patterns and report this site ASAP!

Pirated patterns. Everything posted here is stolen. The pattern creators are not being paid. No clue why this website has not been shut down.

They are steling patterns and share them for free with trojan inside ! They just destoys many mark pictures !!!

Ich habe mir einen Account angelegt, gemeldet, und ich wurde für diese Seite gesperrt und meine Anleitungen erscheinen dort weiterhin. Kein handrln Seitens der Plattform, kein Hilfe beim entfernen der illegal verbreiteten Inhalte. Es handelt sich hier um Urheberrechtsverletzung. Alle Anleitungen dort sind gestohlen. Die originalen Anleitungen gibt es bei Crazypatterns, Etsy ect. Gebt dort kein Geld aus oder gebt Daten Preis. Hierbei handelt es sich um eine Scam Seite!!!!

AWFUL website, once they have your info you are stuck with them, there is NO WAY to delete your account and NO WAY to contact the administrators. Go to their FAQ and it tells you to click a non existent link. Dozens of people are asking how to delete their accounts and the messages keep getting archived. I wish I had thought to read the other review of this site before joining it. Sadly, being a crafting group who are supposed to share patterns, you don't think it can be a scam but it is.

Support the real designers (instead of putting them out of business) and find their patterns on Etsy etc. instead.
