Stay away from this man, lack of technical ability, rude and unresponsive when informed of poor repair.
Cancelled original appointment even though I'd taken afternoon off work for his visit. When he did turn up would only accept cash and left laptop in a worse state than when he arrived. Then when informed of the problem said he'd return the next day.
On following day blocked my no. and ignored text messages.
Only when called on another phone no. did Jon answer call to then tell me it's not his business and to contact his imaginary boss.
This very well spoken conman then went on to tell me that in the couple of hours after he'd left my house that I'd damaged the laptop again.
This man is giving people trying to run small businesses a bad name.
Please check the many poor reviews of this cowboy and don't make same mistake I did in trusting this joker.

Jon did a fantastic job of replacing my Macbook Pro retina screen. He dod it very quickly- you can see he’s done this many times before.
I will use this firm exclusively from now on.

UPDATE: I contacted Jon as I needed a new memory module which required him to be able to solder in a replacement which he said he could do. However he never did this as the problem continued when he returned my laptop, and after running Apple Diagnostics is shows there is still an issue with the Memory Module.
If I could upload the screengrab here I would.
All this con-man fraudster did was reinstall the hard drive, which he had the audacity to charge me extra for in any case.
I paid a total of £425 him, £80 in cash as a deposit.
Because this charlatan is a complete conman and FRAUDSTER he asked me to pay by Paypal using Friends and Family as this does not cover you if you need to make a claim, which this conman knows perfectly well.
I am reporting this FRAUDSTER to Action Fraud and Trading Standards and I suggest that anyone reading this does not use him and DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES PAY USING FRIENDS AND FAMILY VIA PAYPAL as he knows perfectly well you're not covered.
Paypal will be investigating Jonathan Dickson and all the "friends and family" payments he's receiving when he is a business and service.
My fault for trusting him and doing that and doing what he asked me to do there.
Please don't make the same mistake as me. Steer well clear of him.
I had to buy a new laptop.
Incidentally, I tried to resolve the issue with him directly but he blocked my mobile number. I called him up directly and he puts down the phone, because of course he does not want to refund any money.
ActionFraud contacted and a report filed.
UPDATE - THIS FRAUDSTER FLAGGED THIS REVIEW AS UNTRUE, WHEN IT IS 100% THE TRUTH, SO I'M RE-POSTING TO WARN EVERYONE ABOUT HIM.
Second update - as I've just seen the response to my review. This individual was given clear instruction to solder in a new memory module. I asked him, as I said in my review, in my initial call whether you could solder in new RAM which he said he could do. He did not solder ANYTHING in. He has been reported to the Police, Trading Standards and ActionFraud. I am most certainly not "unhinged" – I could have put that £425 towards a new computer. It's a lot of money. Note the other reviews that also reveal the truth about him.
6/4/23 I've just seen this conman's further response to my comment above. In response, I have every single email I sent you - two weeks after you handed me back my computer and ripped me off - the emails are dated, and include attachments which show my computer was still not working – with screen grabs of EXACTLY the same report when I ran diagnostics. The fault numbers of the memory modules were exactly the same. You did not respond to my emails. I have saved them all, and ActionFraud have them too. I am screen grabs, attachments and a video (which you are also sent) that clearly showed my my Mac was still faulty. The one thing you haven't answered is whether you soldered in memory as I asked you too - you've gone very quiet abou that in your responses here, because you know you didn't. And as you persist on lying about what you did, I am contacting TrustPilot's whistleblowing teams and supplying them with all the EVIDENCE of this case and how you operate. The lengths you go to, to lie, is quite something.

Great Service. Gave clear points and helped every step of the way. I had been searching online on the fix for my problem for days until I found this company which helped me to get my pc up and running again.
Fast and really knows his stuff
John knows his stuff. He diagnosed the problem and got it fixed fast. I was back working the following day. He's my new 'go-to' expert from now on.
Fast, Professional & Excellent Service
Having nursed along my iMac that constantly had the wheel of death (spinning ball) pop up every time I opened a document, a file, and in general going so slow and apple support telling me I needed a new hard drive or perhaps to replace the iMac which is 9 years old was currently not an option, financially.
We live in such a throw away world and I thought surely not...... it must be something that can be rectified. I searched on google and found Jon from pcandmacrepairs.co.uk - wow within a day of the call my iMac was firing on all cylinders. Thank you so much for the super fast service and now a super fast iMac. Delighted and grateful to you.
Not recommended - no technical skills and no integrity
I should have paid more attention to the reviews left by other users of this service providers - I had a bad experience with them. The person that came to fix my computer had no experience in the setting of my computer, and all he did was to reinstall windows from scratch, something that takes just few minutes. He spent the rest of his time trying to learn from YouTube videos what to do! Worse still, he admitted to be out of his depth, but asked to be paid for TWO HOURS of work! After I objected he agreed to charge for "only" 90 minutes. In short, if you rely on them and get stung and you have read this - you can only blame yourself.
Addendum: After a year of silence I get a 'reply' from the company. So they admit that they didn't know how to solve the problem (fair enough) but then go on to say that it is absolutely right for them to learn HOW to solve the problem - on my expense!!! So - they can spend the time learning how to solve the problem - and charge me for that! (By the way, even after 30 minutes of watching videos he still didn't have a clue how to resolve the problem). If that reply doesn't show you why so many people have left a 1 star review - well, I guess nothing will.
Addendum2: The business owner asked his name to be removed from this review - but as the company looks like a one man band judging from the fact that only his name is ever mentioned in all other reviews - I don't mind doing it.

I randomly looked for help & support for my IT issues, problems and requirements... Jon came to my home.. everything was sorted there and then plus a diagnosis and a prognosis to consider..... I like this .. Thank you
AVOID at all costs !
A real test of the integrity of a company or in this case a one man band is when things don't turn out as expected. He was very quick to turn up and charge £175 for 40 min work ! then when issue was not fixed and the free software he installed expired then no response to calls, e-mails, Wassap etc. Apart from being a con artist you should never expect any business or person to simply evade your calls. Guess what, I called from another number and miraculously the call was answered. The no fix no fee is a farce...
I am highly spectical of the positive reviews or perhaps he simply did a 'central-alt-del' on the machine and re-installed. Try this yourself first !
Times are hard and £175 down the pan is never a good experience and do not wish this on anyone, especially when working from home and having a functioning computer is a necessity.

I would highly recommend Jon
I would highly recommend Jon. He went above and beyond by completing the laptop fix I needed overnight and then met me the next day so I could pick it up. He was also heading off on holiday the following day, yet ensured that he did the job for me. He had extensive knowledge of how to work around the issue which had embedded itself and got my laptop up and running.

PC and Mac Repairs were professional and efficient. I contacted them and they were the only company I could find that could get the parts needed and fix my MacBook Pro and within days of making contact. I highly recommend and I will use this company again if needed.
Quick Remedy
Jon worked quickly when he arrived, and identified the issue with my MacBook Pro 2012 instantly.
After trying to install a new SSD, he discovered a further hardware issue, which he swiftly took away and remedied.
Jon also upgraded the RAM, and this was all at a fixed price agreed before the job.
If you want to refresh your old MacBook, Jon is your guy.
Jon was absolutely brilliant
Jon was absolutely brilliant! After spilling a mug of tea on my laptop, I didn't think I had much hope - however my laptop is now up and running again and Jon set me up with various antivirus software programmes, backed up my work and updated my laptop (for the first time since I purchased it five years ago...). Would highly recommend.

Keyboard failed on my 2015 MacBook Pro. Apple Seller wanted more than the machine originally cost to repair it!
Found this company via Google and job done. Keyboard replaced, machine and software serviced and upgraded during the visit, at my home, for less than 25% of the Seller’s quote.
Jon arrived late, these things happen, but I was informed and asked if coming later would be ok, it was, so no complaint there as the job was done quickly, efficiently and at no inconvenience to me.
Will be using the company again to look after all our computers as and when required - very happy customer.

John saved my life
John saved my life, after a drink was spilt on my Mac book I rushed it to Apple, to then be told it was a 2-week wait for all repairs. So I went on Google, called John. We met over the weekend, I had a coffee and he nipped away for 20 minutes with my laptop and now it is fixed perfectly (and probably for a fraction of what Apple would have charged me)

Absolutely superb service
Absolutely superb service. He fixed my email problem remitely in very quick time. This was a problem which 3 other firms had failed to cure.
I will be using Jon for all my computer problems in the future.
Incompetent, Arrogant and Rude
The problem with this one man band company (run by someone I'm not allowed to name) is not just the obvious weaknesses with his so-called "expertise" but also that he is too arrogant to accept that he still needs to improve his processes. And also that when he makes a mistake he should do the decent thing and provide a refund.
I paid him £150 to have Win10 reinstalled on my laptop *and* to have my data restored. He didn't bother checking that my data would need to be recovered from my hard drive via specialist software before starting to do the re-installation of Win10. He therefore over-wrote disk sectors that had my data on it. When he realised this, it didn't stop him from downloading Chrome and Diskfrag to the same drive (thereby further overwriting disk sectors), he then also downloaded the wrong version of the data recovery software (Stellar Phoenix which is for Windows 7). It took a couple of long days for me to work out (with Stellar tech support) what was going wrong with the attempted data recovery using this software. It turns out he downloaded the software from an old re-seller site and not the official Stellar site which is just incompetent/lazy.
I called him to have a polite objective discussion about this and to ask for a proportion of my money back and he became aggressive, and demanded that I provide every kind of proof under the sun and then "he would think about it". He's already lost me nearly a week and I'm not wasting any more of my time pandering to this guy's ego. He knows what he's done, and judging from the other recent bad reviews, it's clear his skill set is basic, and out of date, and he doesn't want to learn or accept responsibility for the consequences.

Rubbish. Stellar (who have far longer and deeper expertise than you), confirmed the data would have been recoverable if you hadn't over-written it with your cowboy procedures (which you've designed for the most basic use cases that anyone can do for themselves without getting ripped off by people like you). You were paid a good whack to handle a standard situation and you failed miserably because you couldn't be bothered to take the one extra step required. Embarrassing... And taking nearly two years to reply says it all really.

Serious issues resolved
Problems began with our 8 year old PC when it lost wifi contact with the BT Hub. My attempts to rectify the situation to no avail I called out the experts. To re-establish the link Jon needed to uninstall Windows et all but having done that and having installed new software it became apparent that a hard drive that was getting slower by the hour was lining up problems for the future. A new hard drive was the solution. Foolishly I had failed to back up the data, some of which was extremely valuable and irreplaceable (lesson learned). Extracting the data from the old hard drive was not going to be simple but drawing on his long experience Jon retrieved the data that is now sitting happily on my refurbished PC. The cost of a new hard drive plus a charge for two hours work was I though very reasonable.
But that was not to be the end of our PC problems. After a couple of weeks we experienced the dreaded Windows Blue Screen of Death. Jon returned. The usual remedies for dealing with this issue not succeeding, he fitted another hard drive - it seems that Windows can be ultra sensitive when hardware is replaced. Thankfully Jon still held the data extracted from our original hard drive which he emailed to me to install on the new drive. All this charged at a single call out rate which I thought again very reasonable.
Excellent service.
