After 8 years, finally I closed my bank account in Otp. Try to avoid this bank at any cost. Any bank in Hungary is better

My friend send me money from saudi arabia to albania, otp bank.. Done process in saudi arabia since june 13th,2025 till now i didnt get the money on my account... I call the call center everyday, they cant solved the problems.. Only saying that i will call again and ask for update..worst experience ever. Poor communication with those staffs..

0 stars would be better. Slow, rude, unhelpful, no bank clerk spoke English, I was unable to send money to a friend's OTP account with my Mastercard.

I have opened a standard savings account with OTP one year ago at my last visit to Hungary. As dual Hungarian-Australian citizen, I have spent the past year back home in Australia. However, in this one year OTP have charged me 33346HUF (136AUD) in account keeping fees. That is without me having used the account even once. Naturally, I can only cancel the account in person in Hungary, and I will make it the very first task when visit again. Is stealing have now become a Hungarian corporate standard or does Mr Csanyi (owner of the bank) not rich enough as yet?

Never open an account here! They lie and won’t let you close it! In the meanwhile taking your money! Worst bank ever!

Worst banking experience i ever had!
this bank will literaly revert a payment sent to you in any currency other then one in which account is opened. UNHEARDOF.
they > a literal bank! > are apparently unable to covert currencies > and will rather resort to bouncing back a transaction in foreign currency. i am definitely closing my otp account as thix makes it impossible to work with international clients.

What is not good about this bank is the lack of transparency: so many hidden fee while doing any transaction. Be careful when you use this bank!

Barabhebungen für nicht OTP Kunden auf 75000 Forint begrenzt. Selbst mit Wise-Karte unmöglich. Würde jedem empfehlen otp zu verlassen

This bank will remove all acces from your account, including transactions and card payments, when your ID expires.

I was shocked to see I was no longer able to access my money and make payments on the day my ID expired.

Any other bank just notified me to update my details as soon as possible but didn't remove acces to my funds altogether.

What a huge red flag.

Thankfully my liquid assets are with other banks. What a terrible bank.

Terrible bank. They rip you off in any transaction you make. High fees. Limited withdrawals

Nur kurz die Kreditkarte abholen, soviel zur Theorie.
Die Damen am Schalter waren alle tatsächlich beschäftigt.
Daher haben ich nach 15 Minuten einen Bankmitarbeiter hinter einem Schreibtisch gefragt, ob er so höflich sei mir kurz zu helfen, Da er offensichtlich nichts zu tun hatte.
Er verwies mich an die Damen, wieso auch Service bieten…. Rumsitzen macht mehr Spaß

Experienta noastra cu OTP bank, Cluj a fost una extrem de dezamagitoare. Pesonalul bancii total dezinteresat, lent, neimplicat. Vibe-ul a fost dezolant inca de la intrarea in sediu. Personalul se uita la tine iritat, ca la un musafir nepoftit care deranjeaza pe langa faptul ca mormaie in limba maghiara si nu intelegi daca e despre tine sau nu. Aici am dat de amatori, nu de profesionisti.. oameni care sunt prezenti cu trupul si care par a fi obligati de parinti ca sa se aduca la munca pe ei. Filosofia de munca pare a fi una gresita. Salvarea acestei sucursale este doamna Director care ii tine pe acesti oameni in spate si experienta cu ea a fost de calibrul unei banci profesioniste si implicate. Sper ca odata cu achizitia BTului sa se schimbe mentalitatea si atitudinea oamenilor de acolo. Nu recomand sub nici o forma Otp.
