Be warned! There is nothing luxury about the majority of the hotels offered by this company. We stayed at Shrigley Hall and the images on the site are far beyond what was experienced. Horrendous experience and very poor customer service between hotel and off peak luxury!!! Extremely expensive for what can only be described as an absolute dive!

What a find! Terrific value, great customer service and smooth transaction. Delighted and will be recommending.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS

We booked what was due to be our only family holiday of the year through Country Hotel Breaks. With approximately one month's notice, they cancelled our confirmed booking due to what they described as an "operational issue" entirely on their side.

Mistakes happen. Hotels overbook, systems fail and plans change. What separates a good company from a poor one is how they respond when those mistakes affect paying customers.
Unfortunately, this is where Country Hotel Breaks failed completely.

Because the cancellation happened so close to our travel date (and during the height of summer in July), the cost of booking an equivalent hotel had increased dramatically (3X the price), leaving us significantly out of pocket if we still wanted to take our planned holiday. Despite this, the company refused to offer an alternative hotel (despite their own terms stating they will endeavour to do so) and instead simply refunded the booking and offered a £100 voucher for a future booking.

What made the experience even worse was the way the complaint was handled. Every response simply repeated the same scripted position without addressing the actual points I raised. When I escalated the complaint, I was told it had been reviewed by a director, yet nobody could explain why the company believed £100 voucher was a fair resolution.

They hid behind their terms and conditions while showing virtually no flexibility or appreciation for the position they had put their customer in.

I will never use this company again, and based on my experience, I couldn't recommend that anyone else does either.

Just excellent service no problem or fuss

I used a voucher plus additional cash to book one night away outside of London on fireworks night to have a quiet time for our dog. All booked at Taplow hotel with a great spa and swimming pool.
The hotel contacted me, the pool is not working during our upcoming stay. I rebooked and waited for them to tell me it is opened and working. They did not.
I finally booked and they said the hotel is no longer within the Off peak luxury group. They disowned the problem and the hotel says it is too long to have not rebooked.
I am within the 6 years by law.
So my fight goes to the off peak luxury who took my voucher and money. I dont have any benefit but the pain to put things right.
So beware to others experiencing this handing off and no accountability or customer care.

The standard of facilities and general upkeep of the hotel had declined considerably since our last stay
Hotel is in need of urgent maintenance and repair work.
Eg When you arrive at the hotel the canopy over the bridge is covered in green moss
One of our chairs in dining room had ripped covers
The tiling around the fountain in the court yard needs urgent repair.
The carpet in the reception of gym needed hoovering also

I messed up my dates and booked a non refundable and non changeable reservation. Despite this Offpeakluxury agreed to amended dates without any issue. Thank you so much Toni.

There seems to be a bit of brand confusion going on. I booked under a gift voucher for Country hotel breaks but seems to have fallen into Offpeakluxury. As I've booked a Bank Holiday, it's hardly off peak! Anyway, 2 nights booked eventually. The company had to come back to me as my requested dates through the website were unavailable with a doggie reservation. Having said that it was easily sorted with an email. I wouldn't buy these gift vouchers. Easier to deal with hard cash as offers are more readily available, and the vouchers really restrict you and you end up paying top dollar.

Staff were very welcoming and upgraded us free of charge. The service was really good and the hotel was set in beautiful grounds and so peaceful I would recommend to anyone.

Have used this site many times have always found it easy to use all you need to know is there, simple and price explained in plain English, very good .

The process of booking the break I wanted was relatively straightforward, and I subsequently received confirmation of my booking, all of the terms of the offer were clearly set out.

We received a voucher as a gift, when we called to make a booking I was so pleased with the experience, a warm welcome, they made sure the dates were exactly as required, they helped us to book an extra night and sorted everything out. It was so easy to do over the phone and it couldn't have gone any easier. Highly recommended and I'd encourage others to give them a try.

We first booked a hotel (in the Lake District) through Offpeakluxury in 2021. We loved the hotel in every way and have always hoped to return. So we were delighted when our attention was drawn to another special offer at the same place, and had no hesitation in snapping it up. All very easy to arrange through the website, and remarkably good value.
