Everything was perfect, customer support, the van, …

Gave me clunker and forced me to put a $2500 deposit then refused to lift it. My card has travel insurance but I cant file a claim because they refuse to send me proof of damage or any repair bills. They dont even repair the cars, they just steal your money.

It also took 90 mins to get the car, and they held me for nearly an hour at drop off holding me hostage trying to get more money out of me. I nearly missed by flight. I will never use a budget company again. Not worth the hassle. See dozens of similar reviews here and on google.

Great pickup, nice employees. Only thing was that our tire was almost flat on the first day, but they helped us great by calling the nearest shop to help us. The company was Ring.

It was my third time renting a car via Northbound. If I go to Iceland the next time, I would definitely rent via Northbound again.

Our Rental from Lava Cars through Northbound was seamless from start to finish. Not only was our rental car upgraded to a bigger and better car upon arrival by Lava but the check in and out process was quick and easy. I would highly recommend using Northbound/ Lava cars when renting a car in Iceland and would do so again when visiting Iceland in the future.

The cheapest I could find, the cars are almost brand new and the staff are really friendly

I´m writing this about 5 months after my rental. Of course it is easy to give a 5 start review when there were no incident, but I did have a lot of pre-communication with Northbound at the beginning and they always had a decent turn around response time. My biggest worry was that the insurance that they gave us did not match with the car we rented. We had communicated with Northbound and also the insurance company, and when they had to, Northbound stepped in and did their research and provided us with comfort and confirmation that the insurance we have will cover us for everything that we wanted.
In addition, we also saw good pricing on Northbound´s site and information was clear as to what we were book. I would definitely book again with Northbound.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Icerental 4*4 in Iceland as I used them Jan 20-27, 2024, myself and was pleased with the service, car condition and pick-up/drop-off at the airport.

Overall, we were really pleased with Northbound and the car rental company that we ended up using - Lotus Car Rental.

Booking was easy, the service was great with friendly staff and the car was in a good, clean condition.

Free transfers to and from the airport were an added bonus.

Booking process was simple. Pickup was very smooth process with easy paperwork. Drop-off was simple and efficient.

Staff were friendly and I would definitely use Northbound and Ring car hire again.

We hired a 4x4 JEEP COMPASS Automatic. When we arrived, we went to the company called GOICELAND ACE the pick up and drop off was smooth and quick and easy to find at the arrival hall. We arrived at the company office and was served by a woman at the desk didn’t introduce herself so I couldn’t get a name. She was rude, she just took our driving licenses and just briefly explained the speed limits by telling us to read the leaflet, and then after she gave us the keys and told us the car was outside without explaining the car description so we were just handed the keys and left. We then returned the car on the 8th of January, was severed by the same woman, had a parking fine for parking on the wrong direction of the road for 15,000ISK but none of this was explained on arrival verbally or on any leaflets either. She just said you need to pay even though this should have been mentioned. Her customer service was definitively not approachable or friendly and I wouldn’t recommend her to anyone. The process at northbound was fine in renting a car, it depends what company you land on.

Northbound is is a trustful company, definitely recommend.

My second rental from this rental company. Amazing service. We had accidently dented the car. Before running the the credit card for the damage, the guy at the counter was kind enough to ask us to check to our credit cards if it a rental insurance. And we did find out that our card did have insurance. I have now encouraged anyone going to Iceland to rent from here. Will be renting again on our next 2024 Trip

We rented a 2022 Subaru because we wanted a newer car to drive for miles around iceland but when we arrived we were given another older car. I communicated with northbound to tell them that we were having passport problems and that we were going to be 2 days late and was told that it was communicated with ice rental 4x4. But when we arrived they had no idea what we were talking about. They said no one told them and that they can’t even find our reservation and they don’t have the car we paid for in full! We ended up with an older car that we didn’t want and when communicating with northbound customer service they were not helpful. They told me that icerental 4x4 will refund me the difference of the car cost but when we went to return the car, again, icerental 4x4 had no idea what we were talking about and said no old told them. We hated the car, it wasn’t what we wanted or planned for. I would not recommend northbound or icerental 4x4 to anyone.

Camping Cars did an amazing job at Introducing and show how to use the car along with the roof top tent we choose with the car. The service and simplicity of the rental prosess made it effortless and joyful from A to B. The staff is kind, flexible, motivated and service minded. I would definitely choose this company again.

It was very easy to change the vehicle we hired. There were no hidden charges at the time and no extra charges on my credit card when we got home. Everything was clear and above board. The vehicle we hired was perfect for a family of 2 adults and two pre-teen kids. It was also simple to drive. I recommend both Northbound and Riijo Campers.

Friendly staff, nice car, i recommend the silver insurance, those roads are plenty of gravel.

We recently rent two cars with Northbound. One from Rent.is and I give 5 stars to that. The other car was from Icerental4x4 and I give 1 star to that, or maybe zero star at all. The experience with Icerental4x4 was awful, the car was an absolute wreck tied with electric wire (not joking!!!). So my 3-star review is really an average. Unfortunately, Northbound does not you choose which company you are going to renta a car from.
