“Napier Parking—what an absolute joke…
“Napier Parking—what an absolute joke of a company. I parked at their George Street Car Park in Banbury, where the signage was practically invisible, and the lighting was so bad it felt like a game of ‘find the payment machine in the dark.’ Spoiler alert: I didn’t pay because I couldn’t see a thing! But instead of fixing their dodgy setup, they issued me a £100 fine. Classy.
Let’s talk about predatory behavior: Napier Parking is the gold standard for how NOT to run a business. Their signage fails to meet legal standards, and they completely disregard the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which requires fair, transparent, and proportionate charges. And don’t even get me started on their blatant violation of the British Parking Association’s Code of Practice, which demands clear signage and proper grace periods. But why bother with compliance when you can just fleece people?
This isn’t a parking company—it’s a money-grabbing operation hiding behind the façade of a legitimate business. £100 for not paying when their car park is a disgrace? Laughable. But don’t worry, Napier—I’ll fight this every step of the way. I’ll also make it my mission to warn as many people as possible about your shady practices. George Street Car Park should come with a health warning: ‘Enter at your own risk—your wallet won’t survive.’
Well done, Napier Parking, for proving that you care about one thing and one thing only: ripping people off.”
Great news for Boston Lincolnshire
We are a past customer/victims of this rip off scammers of a so called company, they stole £100 off us earlier this year. As like most of us their machine did not recognising our vehicle reg so they say, more of their scams and lies. Good news though as their car park in Boston Lincolnshire next to the old B&M store is no more from the 16/12/24 as the area is being redesigned and redeveloped, that's one less car park they haven't got to scam us and steal our hard earned money. Disgraceful so called company and KARMA is getting closer by the day, bring it on.
0 stars!
0 stars!! Avoid using their car parks. Glass Street, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. Could not insert coins into machine, (possibly blocked/full). Tried another machine, but decided to use my credit card. Machine bleeped but no ticket issued. I then tried to call and explain and to see if Napier could let me know if transaction had gone through. I made three phone calls but gave up as each option I chose, I could only get an automated response. No real human to ask!!! I then tried the coins, which were accepted in this machine. When i received my fine through the post I had apparently over stayed by 15 minutes, (due to problems with heir machines) According to my ticket and by the skin of my teeth, I still had 1 minute and 19 seconds left. I supplied them with a photo of my call log and ticket issued. My appeal was denied because time starts when the camera recognises the vehicle on entering the carpark and not on the time displayed on the ticket. So why isn't the time of entering the car park deducted from the time printed on the ticket? How can this be legal? All the people I have spoken to go by the time on the ticket. I can appeal again to IAP, but due to time of year and holidays I feel I will have to pay the fine for "problems with their machines", not to mention the phone calls, or risk a higher fine.
I have warned many friends and family to AVOID this car park. I am also going to contact my local MP to look into the ways this disgraceful company operates.
Immoral predators
Vile company.
Paid for my parking with cash. Put in registration details. No ticket issued. Thought I’d be safe as I’d put in my registration and the machine took my money and didn’t give change. Received a fine. Made appeal and have been told that there is no record of my registration. Asked them to check CCTV of me going to the machine. Appeal declined! Of course I have no proof - I paid cash and had no ticket. I guess that’s what companies like this rely on. Immoral predators. I suspect I’m not the only one.
A predatory business model that leeches off inconvenience and confusion
This company epitomizes everything wrong with modern parking enforcement.
I was a couple of minutes outside the grace period - forced to pay a fine for a car park that's in the middle of the countryside, poorly lit, machines that need a PhD to pay the fee. Oh, but they make it SOOOO easy to pay the fine.
Instead of providing a positive experience that encourages repeat visits, this car park relies on predatory practices and an archaic system that punishes minor infractions.
I feel very sorry for anybody who is forced to work in a company like this...shame on you!
***Avoid
***Avoid! Scam alert***Paid parking and have proof from bank. I was still declined appeal. Rang to speak with someone, after I told her not to patronise me she put the phone down. She tried telling me she was giving me the “benefit of the doubt” by giving me a reduced fine. Will not be paying any fine when I have proof I paid for parking and still had roughy 45 minutes left to park. Absolutely scam!
Do not use their car parks
Do not use their car parks! Pulled into one, and received a penalty charge. Only stopped for a few minutes, and there are no clear signs about cameras in car park
Trap to pay fine
Paid on their machine. System didn't record my number plates, so charge issued even if I provided bank statements to proof payment being done.
Trap to pay fine.
DO NOT USE NAPIER PARKING
DO NOT USE NAPIER PARKING. THEY ARE THIEVES USING EVERY TRICK TO SCAM YOUR MONEY. They do not respond until they can take you to the cleaners saying your too late.
Avoid using Napier owned car parks at all costs!!
Disgraceful, shambolic company.
I received a parking charge letter demanding £60.00 payment (if paid within 14 days) for a completely fabricated alleged failure to pay for my parking session a week earlier.
I challenged this and provided evidence in the form of a bank statement clearly showing payment (note I was actually overcharged!), which Napier did not acknowledge and proceeded to continue to allege I had failed to pay, however offered a reduced fine of £20.00!
I took the option of referring the matter to the "Independent" Appeals Service for consideration (note- they are administered by the International Parking Company, trade body of private parking companies) and received notification that Napier had conceded the matter. Clearly the only valid outcome in this scenario.
No apology from Napier, needless to say...
Parked for 13 minutes to attend to my…
Parked for 13 minutes to attend to my wife's car that had got a puncture due to an excessively high curb of the entrance which is unmarked
Wife had no alternative to contact me to replace the tire
Appeal to their parking charge due to this problem with evidence and photographs but they didn't give a s***
My wife will no longer be using this car park of which he used on a regular basis they're not interested in problems they just want to rip you off 😡
They took nothing into consideration on my appeal with all the evidence I placed with them
It's no wonder companies like this gets so many bad reports they have no compassion or interest in problems I intend to place this in the hands of my solicitor regarding the excessively high curb unmarked which plenty of people have caught before
Utter utter scumbags 😡😡😡😡😡
AVOID THIS PARKING
Avoid this parking.
Exceeded a few minutes of the grace period due to an extraordinary circunstance related to health.
A company that hides behind legal policies and fails morally by profiting from unfortunate situations. You'll get your £60 pounds at the cost of a local customer, so will lose financially in the long term.
I hope customers eventually can see the type of business values and ethics you have.
My daughter was given a ticket on her…
My daughter was given a ticket on her way in before even getting into the car park by a fellow stranger who had just left the car park , ‘an act of kindness’ which resulted in a £54 fine. The guy said there were 3 hours left on his ticket. She used the ticket not realising she would end up having to pay a fine. The reason for the fine was : ‘transferring a ticket to another vehicle’ . Someone had taken a photo of her car and added a photo though very small of the sign of their fees on the penalty notice they sent. Is this the world we live in now daylight robbery ! These private car parks are disgusting, if you want to read the terms and conditions you have to Google them and read through 4+ pages - who has time for that ???? Why doesn’t the government put a stop to this ? Scum of the earth!
Expensive car park, bad service
I parked in one of their car parks, the machine was not working and with a poor signal i could not download the app. I went to where i was working (A bank and out of hours) Downloaded the app, went back and paid, i got a PCN because i was too long before paying. They have not accepted my appeal and have put up the charge and an admin fee which apparently contravenes a 2012 act. Obviously i am appealing but this is like knocking your head against a brick wall
I also have to question a parking company that offers insurance while parking, Is this some sort of protection racket??
I would not even give them one star
I would not even give them one star, this company is absolutely disgraceful. Their car park in George Street Banbury should have clear signage before you enter saying CAMERAS are recording entry and exit. I entered their car park it took 3.5 minute from entry to me parking and walking to the machine and getting the ticket. I paid for 2 hours. I got back to my bar 6 minutes after the time had lapsed and then by the time I had exited the car park 9 minutes had passed. I appealed and they said the total time used was 11.5 mins and I only have a collective grace period of 10 min. So for being 2.5 min over I got a 100 fine!!!! . Considering I had always used this car park I will NEVER do this again and will alert as many people as I can do not use this company. They are crooks!
And guess what just received my second fine from them for parking i did 4 months ago.. Appealed this and guess what it was rejected so yet another 100 fine. They are doing very well out of me!
Thieves. Has no place in our town! Boycott them!
I don't mind paying for parking when it is reasonable. This company has taken over two local car parks recently. And the whole town hates them for the fines they are sending through the mail. I don't mind paying a fine but £60, £100+?
Thieves!
And it's going to impact tourism.
Shame on them?
They should be boycotted.
Got a FCN even not used the car park
Was trying to find a parking space during a peak hour with cars in & out & parking & congestion at the exit. Spent 7 minutes on searching a space and left immediately when I realized there was no space available. Got a £100 FCN a month later stating I didn't pay for the parking. Ridiculous business!
I WOULD GIVE 0 STARS IF POSSIBLE
THE WORST CAR PARKING COMPANY EVER. I PARKED AT THEIR CAR PARK NEAR IPSWICH WOLSEY THEATRE, THEIR APP WOULD NOT WORK SO I WAS UNABLE TO EXTEND MY PARKING SESSION WHILST I WAS IN THE HAIRDRESSERS. I WAS 1 MINUTE LATE BACK TO MY CAR AFTER THE GRACE TIME. AFTER PROVIDING CLEAR EVIDENCE INC SCREEN RECORDINGS OF ME TRYING TO USE THE APP AND APPEALING MY CHARGE THEY STILL WANT THE MONEY. SO NOW I HAVE NO OPTION BUT TO PAY. AND WHEN I RANG THEM TO SPEAK ABOUT IT THE WOMAN SAID ITS NOT THEIR FAULT THE APP DIDN'T WORK AS ITS A THIRD PARTY APP THEY USE. SO WHO'S IS IT THEN? CAUSE I DON'T OWN THE APP AND ITS NOT MY COMPANY.
WORST COMPANY EVER, I CANNOT EXPLAIN THIS ENOUGH.
Vile humans
Vile humans - literally the most disgraceful money grubbing scum around. We paid for 4 hours parking in good faith and over ran our night out by 25mins. The walk to the car park was half hour so an hour round trip wasn’t an option on a night out. We hoped we’d be ok. Sadly their ANPR means that they charge you £60 for the additional 40mins used on a Saturday night at 11pm. I’d have happily extended the parking had it been feasible. Disgusting outfit run by absolute creatures that exist to monetise from people overstaying marginally. 4 hours parking was about £3. The extra 40mins overrun is £60? Hardly proportional to their business “loss”.
Paid for 2 hours and parked at Wolesley…
Paid for 2 hours and parked at Wolesley car park in Ipswich. We returned well within the two hours, but my daughter was unwell so had to use the loo at the last minute so my wife and her returned late with us leaving 22min after the ticket expired. I was however sat in the car with my son waiting, and the car park was more than half empty at the time. A week later I received a parking fine of £100, reduced to £60 if paid early. I appealed and even asked them to check the cameras for evidence and to reconsider quashing the fine on compassionate grounds. But they had no compromise and said the PCN still stood. Really poor customer service, I would have been happy to have been charged for the extra hour retrospectively. Feel like this sort of practice should be highlighted to the consumer ombudsman. Id think twice of using Napier car parks again, but then they have a monopoly on certain areas....
