Yet another negative review
Yet another negative review. When we arrived an elderly gentleman had started to use the machine but was confused so he asked us to take over which we did - this meant that our ticket did not have our registration on so we received a fine!
I wrote to explain that we had paid the correct fee - they had a copy of our ticket and confirmation that we had not exceeded out time but still made us pay the fine. Shameful behaviour
If I could give no stars I would
If I could give no stars I would. Their machine wasn't working properly. Followed the instructions 4 times and would not apply the evening charge. Overcharged, won't refund and given fixed penalty notice. Avoid they are nothing but scum.
I parked in Tabernacle carpark Truro on…
I parked in Tabernacle carpark Truro on my way home from a family camping trip in Cornwall in July 2022. I paid to park. The machine was not playing ball and took ages to accept my number plate entry. Then did not take my number plate correctly and took the last digit without accepting the previous one resulting in the number plate showing the last 2 digits the wrong way around. The print was tiny so I didn’t notice and as it was a melting heatwave the sun on the screen of the machine didn’t help either.
Anyway, a week later I received a parking fine which shocked me as I still had the parking ticket in my car. I sent a copy of that off and figured that would be the end of it. Little did I know I was dealing with bullies.
They denied the ticket and continued to persue a fine, even though I pointed out that they were part of the BPA and the regulations clearly state that it was classed as a minor keying error and should be dropped on first appeal. It then got passed on to a legal company.
BW Legal denied Napier’s association with the BPA, which I had physical evidence of, and continued to pursue payment of the fine. I dug my heals in, had some help from a friend who is a solicitor and didn’t bow down to their bully tactics, which they continued relentlessly right up until a court date was issued where they then miraculously conceded, clearly knowing they didn’t have a leg to stand on, and sent a notice of discontinuance.
The level of stress and anxiety I went through whilst dealing with this led to tears on many occasions but I never gave up and am glad I didn’t. The relief of pressure I felt when the letter came through the door was immense.
Don’t give in to their bully boy tactics. It took a lot of correspondence, time, stress and upset but was worth every minute of of it to not be beaten down by them. The sheer volume of complaints on this site proves that they do this to everyone and that the system isn’t set up to protect us as customers for it to have gone this far in the first place. I don’t know how but I feel very strongly that a change in the regulations/law needs to be put in place to stop this type of bullying going forwards.
Very unhappy with this carpark company
Very unhappy with this carpark company. Paid for parking and issued a £100 fine! Poor signage and very unfair to uses of King's Lynn train station.
NAPIER PARKING UTTER SCUMBAGS
I use their car park almost every day i took a phone call from an employee who was calling in sick then paid for my parking i left exactly at the time the parking expired and they fined me £100 because i was in the car park for 7 minutes which they claimed was not paid for. UTTER SCUMBAGS
I parked in Electric parking bay at the Redrow development in…
I parked in the Redrow development in Colindale and noticed an electric parking station. So I signed up and plugged in for the 40 minutes I was parked.
When I returned I unplugged and proceeded on my way. I then got a ticket for £100 some weeks or so later. In most places if you park in an electric parking bay to re-charge your car you dont have to pay the charge for parking as well. This does not apply in this area with Napier parking. So the electric parking bay in Napier covered area is not free,
EVERYONE Beware
Avoid
Avoid! They will make as much money from you as they can!!
On autopilot and accidentally entered wrong car reg as wasn’t thinking, entered our other car registration in, as the car driven at the time isn’t one normally used. Had paid however for a ticket.
Will they budge no! Even after taking it further the ‘independent company’ have dismissed the claim stating its discretion of this company even though they agree it was human error which surely needs to be accounted for?! £100 out of pocket.
Joke of a company! Will I get the money back for the ticket purchased that they happily took? Probably not.
If they can make any kind of profit from you making human error they will do.
Why does their machine not flag if wrong details entered if it’s all ANPR?
Just avoid
Avoid
Avoid, if they can profit from you they will. Awful faceless company. I paid for a parking ticket but their machine did not work to print a ticket. I did not worry as I had proof of payment, they would not engage with me outside of the appeals process or in person, I was charged £90 when I had proof of paying for my ticket, I was with 2 small children in one of their car parks, no loss to them at all. Profiteering and no moral code. AVOID.
Appeal successful
Updated review.
So my first review was saying not to use due to receiving a penalty notice. I received this because I had purchased a ticket but my registration didn’t print fully so in theory they had no record that my car should be there so I now understand why I got the notice.
Upon receipt I did raise an appeal but based on the other comments here I thought the chances were low of having this be a successful outcome. However I have to say to my surprise my appeal was successful and they took in consideration that I had used the car park previously with no issue and this was a one off mistake.
As I was concerned with the £100 fee and that if you pay within 14 days it’s reduced to £60 and that it has looked like most appeals on here has been rejected I in panic paid the £60 to take the lesser amount. When they accepted my appeal which was reviewed in two days I emailed them to ask if that amount could be refunded and they did this the same day!
I have to say whilst my first review was negative and not going to lie still shocked to receive the penalty notice they have handled my case very well and I am of course thankful to have the notice lifted and my money returned to me.
Big lesson learnt here for me, to clearly take better notice of the signs and notices and to ensure I check my ticket before parking.
Napier Parking are a dishonest company…
Napier Parking are a dishonest company who have a payment system that failed and still they charge the customer £100 even though it is blatantly their fault. Even their appeal process is flawed. Despite submitting all the evidence, asking for them to review their camera footage to confirm that I have tried to pay, they still charge you. When I visit the UK again, I will never part with my £2 to put money in the pocket of this dishonest fraudulent company!
Tried to park at pall mall car park…
Tried to park at pall mall car park opposite wilcos the parking meter would not accept payment by coins after a number of attempts using different coins we decided to park elsewhere in town because the parking meter was unfit for purpose shortly after we received a parking ticket when I explained to Napier parking ltd they said I had gone over the time limit to park (3mins) and I should pay 50£ penalty which i again told them that the overrun was down to the parking meter not accepting coin payment since then they have passed the parking problem to bwlegal and now the parking fine as gone to 180£ I certainly think from the start that the parking meter problem is entrapment and a money maker as anyone hit the same problem actual date 19sept 23
Napier Can (and will) Fine You Even If You Paid
I paid cash for a £1 parking session at the West Street car park in Boston but have ended up having to pay a £100 parking fine even though Napier Parking and the Independent Appeals Service (IAS) know that I paid for my ticket. IMPORTANT: The thing to be aware of is that if, for whatever reason, you enter your car registration incorrectly, and even if you have paid the correct amount, YOU WILL BE FINED. The IAS are unable to find in your favour because the wording on the signs in the car park means that by parking there you have entered a legal contract to enter your car registration number in their ticket machine.
In my case I was unable to enter the car registration properly because when I pressed the letters on the keyboard they weren’t coming up on the display screen. I put a £1 coin in to see if I’d be able to get a ticket without putting the registration in and it did indeed print a ticket for the one hour I needed. I was really pleased that the machine accepted the £1 coin and printed a ticket which I displayed correctly on the dashboard. I went off to the dentists confidently thinking everything was okay.
A few days later I received the Notice and appealed it with Napiers, and then to the IAS. Napiers also had to provide their evidence which included the transaction log from the ticket machine I’d used and it showed my £1 cash payment at that exact time. It seems the random letters I’d been pressing had been recognised by their system as a registration number ‘format’ which is why it accepted my money and printed a ticket!! How greedy and pig ignorant are this company as we all know, and we all have the evidence, that I’d paid but they’ve got me on a legal technicality and determined to get £100 out of me that they’ve no right to have. This is nothing short of STEALING … I haven’t had the benefit of anything I haven’t paid for.
It's also impossible to contact them by phone to try and reason with them and the email addresses are “no-reply”. We won’t ever park in their car parks again, they’re just an absolutely scumbag company.
Napier's Ticket Machine claimd infallibity
Delighted to report that Napier's Systems are not infallible as I have suggested to Napier for over four year's now. Inadvertently my son entered his VRN when parking our car at Tabernacle Street Car Park in Truro over the Easter Hoilday this year, the car park that I am currently contesting an erroneous PCN from. Its systems have failed so far to issue us with a PCN despite the fact that we didn't fully comply with its Ts and Cs on this occasion. Now perhaps it will understand that its systems are NOT infallible. Should it issue a PCN it can be certain I will contest it on basis we used reasonable endeavours to comply with the terms and conditions.

Shameful Company
Shameful company. I will make sure not to use any car park that is managed by them again.
I paid to park at a location for 2 hours using the app. A few weeks later I received a fine for not having paid to park. After checking the app I realised I hadn't changed the car reg registered. I only ever use these apps if there is no other way to pay. I had recently changed cars so I realised my mistake.
I admitted the mistake in my response and provided proof of having paid to park on the day and time in question, expecting some understanding and having the fine canceled. The refused my appeal so I appealed to the IAS which also turned out to be a waste of time. Although they "sympathised" with my situation, they sided with Napier Parking.
It's an absolute joke that companies like this are allowed to operate in this way. Making money from people who make honest mistakes and try to communicate to clear up the situation is shameful.
A £100 penalty charge for parking I had already paid for is disgusting. There was no financial loss to this company because I had already paid.
£100 fine for overstaying an empty car…
£100 fine for overstaying an empty car park by 15 minutes.
Anyone who can work for these people with a smile on their face should reconsider their morals.
As for anyone who wishes to say "those are the rules", you should ask yourselves if these rules are shady and scummy first.
An empty car park with 15 minutes over should not result in a £100 fine in today's economy, unless you are a slimy c*nt.
I arrived at Farmfoods wednesbury with…
I arrived at Farmfoods wednesbury with my 2 yr old son as soon as he got out the car he ran a couple of feet and had a bad fall cutting his knees open, as this distracted me i ran into farmfoods for tissues for his legs literlly 2 minutes when a lady told me a guy waiting behind the wall ran to my car took a photo and then went back to the car behind the wall, which then i noticed as he was chugging on a cigarette in his works vehicle. So i was delayed with paying on the app for litterly a couple of minutes whilst i tended to my son....if a ticket comes through i will NOT BE PAYING IT! I also have his registration. CROOKS
Mapier Parking - CROOKS - Refuse to pay your fine !
I attended the local court in Ipswich and won my case, I had to stay behind whilst the judge made a court order, this resulted in me being a few minutes late for my return to the car park, I had a paid for ticket displayed in the window but yes I was a few minutes over.
I wrote and appealed the parking fine fully expecting to receive confirmation that the fine would be cancelled, instead I received a letter basically saying its your fault you were late back not ours so pay the fine or we will take court action against you which could mean a county court judgement.
These crooks do not actually have any legal right to penalise you, google it and anyone reading this refuse to pay and take a stance against this crooked company, nothing more than a bunch of complete crooks ! I wonder why there are so many 1 start reviews, let me think, its because thats what they deserve.
DO NOT PAY ANY FINES< CHECK YOPUR LEGAL POSITION THEY CANNOT FINE YOU ITS ALL A BIG THREAT WITH NO SUBSTANCE !
One other thing, they don't let you e-mail back its all no reply e-mails again hiding behind the crooks mask and they do not have a telephone number you can call but guess what they have one for payments !!!
Yet another 1 star review
Yet another 1 star review, parked over the lines between the bays, walked away and immediately noticed what I'd done wrong, went straight back and parked tidily. Got a ticket stating literally SEVENTEEN SECONDS.!
Perhaps these wonderful people can be forbidden to access DVLA data in the future?
Napier car parks app was not working
Napier car parks app was not working, and phone number had an unavailable message, and yet I still received a penalty notice after then being delayed paying by contactless. These car park operators are crooks and should be avoided. Plenty of others work fine, so use them instead.
