Fantastic experience buying my second-hand car from Motor Trust in Haslingden. From start to finish the whole process was smooth, stress-free and professional. Andy, the salesman who dealt with the sale, was brilliant — very approachable, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He took the time to answer all my questions, explained everything clearly and made sure I was comfortable with every step of the purchase.

There was no pressure at all, just honest advice and great customer service. The car was presented in excellent condition and exactly as described. It’s refreshing to deal with a company that genuinely values its customers.

I would highly recommend Motor Trust in Haslingden, especially if you get looked after by Andy. A top-class service and a pleasure to buy from. Thank you

If I could give 0 ⭐️ I certainly would.

Let’s start with Trevor the salesman that said he was retired but painted his holiday home in Turkey three times and was bored so became a car salesman 🤷🏻‍♂️. I joked with him that this car better not break down on my way home to Aberdeen, he said we only sell the best of cars 🤣🤣

Flight down, trams and taxis to get to Bury £220.00, rushed through the dealership by Trevor and given the car keys. Car had bad condensation and took a while for that to lift so I hand to give it a wipe with my jumper sleeve. 30 minutes into the drive and there was this funny musky smell. Turns out there was white and green mould on the seat belt across my chest, also on the passenger seatbelt.

I was given a courtesy £25 fuel so I had to stop at Perth and fill with diesel. That’s when the issues started. Engine management light came on at 246 miles (4 hours into the drive) and dash said clutch depressed.
My wife used the car the following day and couldn’t get it into gear at all.

We contacted MotorDodge and they said take it to a vat registered garage for a diagnostic that they would cover, still waiting for that money back too. Not to use VW garage either. Well the diagnostic came back with clutch issue's, 2 adblue codes, cracked brake discs and a very damp car with mould. They advised us to reject the purchase and so we did.

Now onto Andy the manager. Yeah we will reject the car but you have to get it back to Manchester as it’s in our t&c’s. Well I can’t drive it because it’s broken so I forked out £500 to get it transported back, which we’ve got Trading Standards looking into as they may have breached a law selling us a faulty car and us having to pay to return it.

As some of the other reviews show..!! Isn’t it hard to get your deposit back from these crooks. Now Andy doesn’t want to play and we have to go through a man called Greg as he deals with the deposits etc. Greg is never at the branch as he’s opening another MotorDodge branch as a nice lad told me on the phone, maybe they should concentrate on the Bury one before opening another.

VW Tiguan picked up on the 16th of February 2026, and returned to them on the 7th March, still fighting to get our £2000 deposit back. Trading standards involved as they only paid us back £1751.00, on the 13th April. Disgusting they have kept hold of our money for all this time. That’s now been 58 days since we purchased a car that lasted 4 hours.

This isn’t our first ca/van purchase as we have owned 7 cars and 4 vans. Not once have we had issiues like this with other dealerships or had to return a dodgy car.

That’s all the advice I can give and I’m writing this on my wife’s behalf.

!!..DODGE MOTOR DODGE..!!

They still haven’t informed the finance company that they have the car back so we are being chased for the monthly payment. 🤣🤣

Great experience from the start to…

Great experience from the start to recieving the vehicle. I was well informed throughout the process and can't thank Adam enough. This was my first time buying a car so I had not experienced the process before and Adam explained everything to me.

Sorry Motortrust, very disapointed.

OMG, were do I start? Bought an I pace Jaguar last year. After 2 weeks the car had faulty air con (common fault on this model). Dropped off the car for 2 weeks while I went on holiday, was promised that the car would be repaired on my return. Phone them up when I got off holiday only to find that they didn't know anything about it. When I told them the car reg it was then they they said "oh it that what it's parked up for". Apparently the sales man who sold me the vehicle had left the business and they had no clue why it was there. I was then told that the car would have to go onto a specialist to be repaired. I then told them that I needed a car for work, they gave a clapped out Ford Focus that had just been traded in, I wouldn't keep a dog in there it was that dirty. 6 weeks later still no car. 72 phone calls later and being fobbed off saying they will phone me back, not once after 72 calls did they phone me back. Mark & Gregg, shame on you. What sort of business are you running? I then received the car back after 7 weeks, I was promised a full valet on return of the vehicle, Did I get one, NO. Baring in mind I still had the Ford Focus at my work premises, sat doing nothing for month, they did not contact me for me to return the Focus. In fact, I had to ring them to remind them that I still had the car. Conversation went something like this... Me "Hiya, can I speak to Mark?" Them "He's not available at the moment, can I get him to ring you back?" (Like he would?). ". Me "Well tell him that I still have the Ford Focus I borrowed". Them " Oh is that were it is", we've been looking around the premises for that for 2 weeks". Sure enough within 30 minutes I got a phone back to arrange collection.
In my humble opinion, very poor customer relations, they do not realise that buying a car is big thing in some peoples lives, this had a massive effect on my mental health. I didn't receive any kind of compensation nor even an apology.
My daughter also bought a car off them the same day, between us we spent best part of £40000. After 6 months the car broke down and needed substantial repair, we were that disappointed in the company that we paid privately to get the car repaired, £480 down. This is all because we could not face putting up with dealing them again. I hope this all makes sense. Onwards & upwards people in your search for car.

BECAREFUL USING THIS COMPANY!!!!

Greg,Andy and Chris won't take any calls from us they just hang up!! Chris has blocked us. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour!!! The finance company are always contacting my daughter to pay but she's cancelled direct debit as Motortrust own the car! Her last call to them she spoke to Andy who was very rude and nasty towards her!! Avoid this company!!!

Peugeot 208 GT

Dealt with Adam at Motortrust who was very friendly, polite and helpful throughout this transaction. I pointed out a couple of minor scratches on the car which were put right and I was kept up to date on progress. Very happy and would shop at Motortrust again.
