Murab was very quick and helpful when buying a new car. It made the process simple and hassle free.
Wouldn’t buy from here again.
I wouldn’t buy from here again.
I purchased my car from CarTime on 31st March after being persuaded to travel from Glasgow to Manchester the next day. I was promised £8,000 part exchange, a full tank of fuel, and finance at £167/month. I was told this was time-sensitive to secure the car and help them meet month-end targets.
I struggled to rearrange my work schedule and finally arrived in Bury.
On arrival, things immediately changed. My part exchange was reduced to £7,700 despite only minor wear and tear (previously confirmed as excellent condition elsewhere). I was then told the £167/month quote hadn’t included my settlement, bringing it to £197/month. On top of that, I was asked to pay an additional £300 to cover the shortfall. This was all presented under time pressure, with urgency to sign finance documents before end of day and month. Exhausted and having travelled so far, I felt I had no real choice but to proceed.
I accepted all of this without giving them any trouble. However, when it came to them honouring their promise of a full tank of fuel, the experience completely changed.
What followed was weeks of chasing:
No callbacks despite repeated promises
Unable to reach the same staff or manager that sold me the car
Emails ignored
I was eventually sent refund forms, which I completed, only for them to try to reduce the amount owed and then stop responding altogether. I have now given up pursuing it.
To make matters worse:
I was told my car wouldn’t be resold due to the minor scuffing, yet I can now see it listed for sale on their webaite.
I was told the V5C had been processed, but DVLA confirmed no application was ever made so i had more trouble chasing this too.
The £1,000 finance deposit contribution advertised online was not honoured (was told its for “traders only” on arrival).
Red flags:
- Bait-and-switch pricing (monthly payments and part exchange value changed on arrival)
- High-pressure sales tactics and forced urgency
- Misleading information about vehicle condition and offers. Promises not honoured (fuel, promotions)
- Poor aftersales support (no callbacks, ignored emails)
- Lack of transparency and accountability
The pattern is clear: strong sales effort upfront, then avoidance once the deal is done. It feels deliberate—especially if you’re travelling from far and can’t easily return.
If you live far away, think very carefully before buying from CarTime.

As we were looking around to buy a new car a salesman approached, introduced himself as Pip, then said if you need any help or information I'll be over at my desk, he wasn't pushy or trying to sell us anything, but when we saw what we wanted he gave us all the help and info we needed and made me feel so at ease all the way through the process, highly recommend this guy as he has the knowledge and personality what a salesman should have. Thank you Pip.

Great experience with this company
Great experience with this company. Azhar was really helpful and communication was excellent. Really pleased.
OK but not good
Cartime (Bury) are OK, but not great.
The car I bought from them is OK (needed a new battery after 3 weeks), but once you have bought from them - any ongoing support seems to be over.
Excellent - Rochdale
I recently had a really pleasant experience at Cartime in Rochdale. From the moment I arrived, the team were welcoming but not pushy at all, which can often be off-putting when buying a car. I was given the time and space to look around and view the cars at my own leisure without any pressure.
Mohammad was especially excellent throughout the process. He listened carefully, was friendly and knowledgeable, and clearly understood my situation as I was working to a tight timeframe to collect the car I purchased. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was ready on time and really pulled it out of the bag for me.
Overall, a smooth and stress-free experience. I would definitely recommend Cartime and especially Mohammad for his great customer service and professionalism.
Excellent experience
Had seen cars online and reached out to company spoke with Bradley good advise given which resulted in us visiting the Bury garage. Whilst looking around the garage Bradley did call to check if still interested in the car.
Met him in the car park good advise regarding the cars on offer , although we did have a set car we wanted.
From entering the car sales forecourt and driving out with our new car was 2 hours
Great service
Will deffo use Cartime again and recommend to friends and family.
My advice is based on my ongoing…
My advice is based on my ongoing problems with Cartime Bury and is please THINK TWICE before making a purchase and make sure you fully check everything out, I wish I had. I purchased a Tesla having travelled a distance following telephone calls with their salesman Paul and assurances that the vehicle would be ready to drive away should a sale be agreed only to find on arrival it needed a new windscreen. Reluctantly, I agreed to test drive it, as I had travelled for nearly three hours. On the drive I really liked the car so agreed the deal. My part ex was in excellent condition and they agreed to deliver the Tesla to me and drive my car back when the windscreen had been replaced. I was going on holiday that weekend so delivery took place on the Friday as I travelled early Saturday morning. Handover was extremely rushed due to the driver (owners brother) wanting to get back on road to help his mum, being in the care profession this I duly understood and appreciated. As soon as I took the car out I found that the heating didn’t work at all. Other faults such as the poor pre valet of the car and broken buttons to passenger seat along with what I think was windscreen glue on dash board i decided the car needed to go back and it was returned on the Monday by my son at my cost so that diagnostic/repairs could happen while I was away for two weeks, I told them I need a car to get to work. They said if they needed it longer they would sort a car for me (still waiting for that one) Limited to NO COMMUNICATION at all on progress of vehicle. I retuned from holiday and still no update, even though I had been emailed to say I would get one. No one seems to answer my calls for an update. The only communication l have really is via email when they bother to reply that is. Empty promises of support. No updates and terrible after sales is my ongoing experience . Furthermore, despite saying they would give me a definitive date for the defect being fixed and car ready to be returned to me in a satisfactory condition by the evening of 14th April I am still waiting !!!!!!!!!!! WHAT A SURPRISE!!!
I will refer this to the ombudsman if I have too and plan to take some legal advice as technically I am still within my 30 days short term rejection period having not explicitly waived my rights even with agreeing the repair. Despite Cartime saying they will not accept the rejection as repairs have commenced I do intend to seek legal clarification on this if no resolution by end of this week.
Unfortunate really because I do like the car. Its a shame they cannot provide the service they so advertise they do.
Make your own mind up - but this is my experience and appreciate everyone’s may not be the same. Stress, raised anxiety along with pure frustration and lastly out of pocket costs with no car having spent over 16k DISGRACE

I spoke to a manager regarding a specific car make and model and to my understanding the manager was a amateur in Sales he was extremely under experienced in his job role who appointed him as a manager rudeness and attitudes doesn’t run a good business and Jamie as a manager is sinking the boat my advice would be never buy from a place that disrespects you as a customer he didn’t want a Sale and the company should look into this that would be my opinion never go Nelson Car time waste of petrol and time give respect get respect.

Car was filthy chipped windscreen bad sales people.went to pic car up at 12.30 got car at 530 all rushed in the end it was raining so couldn't examine the car properly when I got home noticed a chipped windscreen the car was filthy and when there cleaning products smell wore of the car smells really bad cost me nearly 400 to put right they offered me 50 pound I told them to keep it. Don't buy a car from these or you will regret it they don't care once car is sold plus I had to pay for my logbook stay clear go to a proper car dealership
A dodgy second hand car dealship…
A dodgy second hand car dealship selling dodgy cars. If you buy a car from here it's pot luck that you'll get a car thats got no issues. The 62 point car check they claim to do is a load of rubbish, they will 'miss' the most basic things and when things go wrong on your side they aren't interested. Even if you've owned the car 1 day. If they actually checked their vehicles properly this would save them and the customer a lot of hassle.
They are quick to take your money but wont entertain anything if you are having issues with the car.
If you're even considering buying a car from here, bring an OBD reader, a mechanic and have a decent length test drive. Check all the gaps inbetween the bonnet and all the panels to check it hasn't been in an accident.
This place reminds me of the car dealership off matilda. These cowboys dont care if you lose thousands of pounds through repairs after they sell you the vehicle. Be warned people..
Really great service
