Great all round service for Mushroom lovers.

Brought for the 3rd time
Brought for the 3rd time, the first 2 where great,this time the king oyster mushrooms started to grow cut 4 large mushrooms over night the whole crop wilted and died.
Contacted merryhill they said I was growing them in the wrong place it was the same place as the first 2 orders, I asked for a replacement they said no but refunded, but then banned me from buying anymore from them!!

This is the third lot of shiitake mushrooms and this third one is bigger and better, weighs 863mg and still more appearing. Pity I have not a picture to show them.

Kieran was incredibly quick to respond to a query I had with my order. The detailed insight he took the time to share really helped resolve the issue, and he very generously processed a refund as well.

Fantastic Quality, Even Better Customer Service!
I had a slight issue with my original order (No fault of Merryhill Mushrooms whatsoever, my order was stolen after it was delivered to my front door).
I placed a second order, and explain the unfortunate situation with the original order, Kieran was extremely quick to respond to my email (within minutes) and generously agreed to replace my lost order at no extra charge!
After prepping the logs, they soon began to produce a vast quantity of mushrooms! Fantastic quality and a bumper harvest at a great price!

These kits are fantastic
These kits are fantastic. Got 2 for Christmas and I started one before the other. The chestnut mushroom first, then the white mushrooms second. I have had 4 decent yields from the chestnut mushroom box and I’m on the second yield on the white mushrooms. I’ve never tasted such delicious mushrooms. They’re so straight forward to grow, you can’t go wrong. And if you need any advice you get a reply immediately. My days of mushrooms from the supermarket are gone! Thank you for such a wonderful product

Great product. Delivery was next day & after 5 days the mushrooms had flourished & nearly ready to harvest. Great feedback too. Email was answered in minutes.

Great product and customer service!
I got kits from here for a few people as Christmas presents and also decided to get one for myself. Started mine after Christmas and got 5 mushrooms in the first harvest, which is when I realised that I had not been watering them enough! After I read the instruction again and watered the kit properly, I got 20+ mushrooms in the second harvest! Really looking forward to seeing how the rest of the harvests go.
At the same time, I decided to get some for my bother for his birthday. Unfortunately there was some issue with the delivery. I had raised an enquiry as soon as we knew of the issue. They have been absolutely fantastic and went above and beyond to get this resolved. The parcel was delivered the next morning and I was very thankful for the help and amazing customer service that was provided!

Just received my mushroom growing kit , can’t believe how easy this is to grow great mushrooms
had a lion mane one first and got a really good crop of it, now just received my Shitake kit
Followed instructions and can’t believe how many mushrooms are growing in just four days, can’t wait to eat them

If only minus stars existed.
If I could give it minus numbers I would. Contacted customer support because the mushrooms weren't growing eventhough I followed their instructions to a tee. They decided to insult my intelligence, tell me I can't read eventhough I followed THEIR instructions, and tried to persuade me they know more about my house then I do after living here for 30 years. Don't bother.

We do take all customer queries seriously and always try to help where we can.
In this case, we asked some questions about the growing environment to try and understand what might have gone wrong, ie checking temperature and humidity within the growing location and the kit itself, the location next to the stove was questioned as this could have explained the issue.
We're sorry if our questions came across accusatory, but please appreciate we are trying to get to the bottom of the issue.
We have of course issued a full refund for your kit.
We hope you might give mushroom growing another try in the future, and we're always here if you have any questions.
Delivery issues but good service
Had issues with Royal mail with the package being lost and delivery issues. However MerryHill were great throughout and very responsive. They resolved the issue themselves despite it not being thier fault.
Would reccomend.

It's been fun watching the oyster mushrooms grow we've had equivalent too I'd guess 4 shop punnets....a couple more on the way but to be honest if you want value for money with loads of mushrooms don't bother ...this is an honest review fun but won't buy again

While our kits may not always compete on volume with supermarket punnets, the true value often comes from the experience itself: the noticeably improved taste, the unmatched freshness of harvesting moments before cooking, and the enjoyment of watching your own produce grow at home. For many customers, that hands-on process is a big part of the appeal.
It’s also worth mentioning that some of our more exotic varieties — such as Lion’s Mane — can deliver even greater value, as they’re much harder to find in shops and are often significantly more expensive when you can get them.

I’m sensing that they’re building up to blaming us for the lack of growth
We purchased two oyster mushroom kits, one yellow and one pink. There is no growth at all from the yellow one, although the pink was very good and grew almost immediately. ‘Is the room too cold? Are you giving too much water? Are you giving too little water? Can we have a photo of the room?’ Both kits have been treated EXACTLY the same - one grew and one didn’t.
At the end of the day, the bottom line is that these mushrooms are supposed to be EASY to grow! I don’t want to be forced to spend time ago agonising over whether or not I’m doing things properly.
Incidentally, I checked out the reviews on their website before purchasing and they seemed more positive than the ones on Trustpilot. I could be wrong, but I suspect no one has ever received a refund from them.
PS Thank you for your reply, but we have sent you photos and followed your instructions. Still no growth, I’m afraid.

I completely understand your frustration, and I want to assure you that when we ask questions about growing conditions, it's genuinely to help identify what might be affecting your kit. Our first priority when someone contacts us is always to assist and resolve the issue - that's why we need to understand what's happening with your specific kit.
You mentioned both kits have been treated exactly the same, which is helpful information. However, it's worth noting that different oyster varieties naturally grow at different speeds - pink oysters are typically our fastest growers, often fruiting within days, whilst yellow oysters can take longer to begin fruiting even under identical conditions. This doesn't mean there's anything wrong; it may simply be too early for your yellow kit to show growth yet.
When we ask for photos or details about watering and temperature, it's because we've found that often a small adjustment - perhaps a slight change in misting frequency or positioning - can make all the difference. Sometimes we can spot a compost issue that warrants an immediate replacement. Without this information, we're unable to determine the best way to help you.
We're a small family business with six generations of mushroom growing expertise, and we take great pride in our customer support. We genuinely want your kit to succeed, and we'd never ask questions just to avoid helping you - quite the opposite.
We'd be grateful for the opportunity to properly assist you before concluding the kit has failed, as in many cases kits that seem problematic simply need a small adjustment or a little more time.
