I called merityre in Hook on Saturday to ask about repairing a slow puncture. I was told by Barry to come on Monday. I was initially surprised as Monday is a bank holiday but Barry (if it's his real name) told me they are open on bank holiday Monday, and guess what? They are closed...
I should have been less trusting as Barry was pretty rude on the phone.
That's the second time I have problems with these people, the last time they fitted budget tyres on my car when I specifically asked for premiums. I thought it was a genuine mistake, but I now don't think it was.
This branch is manned by careless people.

I booked tyres to be fitted (via Black Circle) at Meri Tyre and needed the tyres fitted, due to hospital appointments for my critically ill husband; Meri Tyres cancelled the job because they were busy and I was offered a link to re-book, for 5 days later, which didn't work. I rang Meri tyres, who blamed Black Circle, stating they hadn't delivered, they told me they would do the job if I purchased the tyres through them. I explained about needing to urgently get to hospital appointments and that I didn't want to pay twice for the tyres and fitting. When I spoke to Black Circle, I found out that Meri Tyres had cancelled and have booking problems. So, Meri Tyres were really unhelpful and just lied, passing the buck. Black Circle were amazing and I re-booked through them to go to a garage that doesn't mess customers around AND was actually cheaper anyway than Meri Tyres. Avoid Meri Tyres if you don't want to be lied to and messed around!

Went into the marlow branch to have the aircon regassed today. Really friendly service and did an excellent job. Aircon now better than when new.

I went here for motorcycle tyre's a few years ago, to start with they were good there was a guy who worked there who knew what he was doing and did a good job. One day I went there for two tyre's on my bandit, they put some half wit on it who used a wind gun and stripped the threads from the brake caliper. After spending some time waiting, they said would it be ok to use a nut and bolt to secure the brake caliper as the threads had stripped, thinking this was a temporary fix and they would sort it, no this is how it was left, not only that but they buckled the front brake disc's. A very expressive day for me, I would recommend you go to someone who knows what they are doing and if things go wrong they at least put it right

Thanks for your reply this would have been in about 2008. I guy behind the counter was David Williams he told me while undoing the brake caliper the threads stripped, I don't think it happened then, it was when the lad tried to put it back together with the wind gun. I knew something had gone wrong because I was waiting for about 3 hours for 2 tyres to be fitted. When I took it to my local bike garage for the MOT it failed because the front brake discs had been warped. I also learned from the garage David Williams had called to ask how they could get over the brake caliper issue, they told him a nut and bolt would be a solution. When David spoke to me I thought this was a temporary fix and they would arrange for the damage they had caused to be put right. When I left I didn't get a receipt for the tyres, I wrote a letter to them and was fobbed off, so I wrote another one which didn't get a reply. Since then I have had somewhere between 30-50 tyres which I have purchased from elsewhere. I don't think I need to explain to you, this shoddy ness was somewhat short sighted. I live by the principal if you make a mistake, put your hands up to it and put it right, had that of been the case I would still be dealing with you.

I can't fault Merit customer services phoning me before regarding tyre ordered, but sadly rather slow (not that busy when arrived & 90 minute plus wait) /below standard service at garage later on. I have been to Merits before & can't remember this problem, only with another garage approx 20 years ago. Only went there for one tyre replacement + tracking check. Then disppointment later when I drove home. I could see my steering wheel was not 100% straight/might only be minor, but I could clearly see it was not entirely straight when focusing on dash area (as before having tracking done - it was perfect before!). Although after returning they quickly adjusted steering, there was not really any apology/I felt as if I was the one at fault wasting their time, plus extra time wasted (for the customer). Currently waiting to hear further from their head office to investigate . . . Just glad there are other garages in the area to choose. Cars! Never a dull moment!

An update: Thankfully complaint now resolved by head office/local branch.

Purley-on-Thames: took the car in for free tracking check, after I'd had two new front tyres fitted elsewhere.
They tested the wheels and said that all was OK and no adjustments needed. So free of charge.
Very impressed with the honesty of the garage.

Installed a replacement for BMW X3. Customer oriented, knowledgeable and straightforward to deal with. Highly recommended.

Another great experience with Merityre Andover, my wife got a puncture in her tyre. I took it to them without booking and close to their closing time and it was no trouble to them at all. Fixed in about 10 minutes. They are genuinely helpful car people, especially Craig, nothing seems like too much trouble for them. Highly recommended!

Got the tracking done on my car today and the service was awesome. I was served by Hayden who was an absolute pleasure to deal with. He went through all the information with me. Great experience!

2 rear tyres required. Firstly wrong tyres fitted, these removed and correct fitted. Took car for MOT, FAILED!! 1 tyre fitted wrong way round.!!!
Tyre clearly labeled inner and outer. Yet still fitted wrongly.
No apology given or offer to do MOT.
Won’t be back there again….ever!!

I was so impressed with the service at the Sunbury site. Hayden was super helpful, efficient and went above and beyond to help me replace my front 2 tyres, at an affordable price, in the quickest time. They show exceptional customer care and I’m very grateful for Hayden and his team. Thank you boys! You’re legends.

Took my car in to Marlow Tuesday to fit 2 front tyres, arranged through Black Circles. Said my tracking needed doing, cost almost £90.
Following day had service and MOT. Discovered car not steering straight, steering wheel off centre. They fixed it when I went back. No offer of compensation.
So steering worse after, than before it went in.
Just a question: Because they make less on Black Circle is tracking a way of compensating? May have been just a bad day but won’t be going back.

Went into Merityre in Hook this morning after recommendation from my dad. Barry, the manager has always been very professional and helpful. Today, I was served by Simon. He was very kind and helpful as this was my first time needing a repair. Excellent service and got a real good deal. Would recommend to anyone and will go back there again.

Have used their Marlow branch for many years. They consistently provide a professional & friendly service . Even though a 20 journey, I would rather use them instead of local fitters which sums up my view of this company . Keep up the good work Marlow ! Thanks

My daughter took her car to the Basingstoke branch as had a slow puncture, when she went to collect her car it would not start,it had started fine that morning, one of the workers came out and was so rude to her, made her feel really intimidated and talked to her like she knew nothing,he made it such an effort to help her, this was her first experience with her car and has totally put her off, if you are a young woman I would NOT recommend going here!

Took a wheel in with a slow puncture. They checked it and found no hole. Refitted and resealed the tyre and checked it again. Collected next day and no problem

I told the mechanic I wanted the steering wheel straightened and a full front and rear wheel alignment done. Wheel alignment was done I took it for a drive and it was worse than when it started. Driving straight the steering wheel was now aligned to the right not to the left. The steering was pulling to the left still. They said the back wheels had a negligible effect so didn’t need doing. The front was aligned aparently but still pulling to the left. I’m confused.com

Thame branch told me I need a new tyre because of a slow puncture without even looking at the tyre. The screw in my tyre was slightly off the centre off the tread, well within the 70% recommended ‘T’ repair area. I said are you sure it’s not reparable, guy then looked at the tyre, not the area with the screw and said yes you need a new tyre. Then proceeded to order a tyre, not ask me, not confirm any price or what type of tyre and said he’d call me tomorrow. No call whatsoever.
I then went to Kwikfit who repaired the tyre within 50 mins for NO CHARGE and guaranteed the repair for the remainder of the tyres life! Avoid Merityre at ALL costs, complete scammers.

Please don’t try to hide behind the ‘safety’ card as a reason to tell a customer to spend (what I now find out was going to be approx) £200 on a new tyre without even inspecting the old one! Terrible company and bad response from a manager. Avoid this place.
