I needed to replace my cpu on an older computer that I have. The sales rep pretty much shamed me on having such an old system. He response was " we only sell new stuff here". Any way I found what I ne... Zobacz więcej

Can't be trusted to honor their word
Can't be trusted to honor their word. I've been building systems for over 25 years and recently, I was asked by a friend to build him a gaming system and I decided to source the parts from Memory Express locally instead of buying online for cheaper. When it came to selecting a video card, they advised that they had none in the building that day, even in the "back", but assured that they would be able to get one for him. (They usually keep some in the back for people buying complete systems, and not just video cards.) They said to come back in the next few days or the following week and they would get one for him....well, after several times going there, they refuse to give him one of the ones they keep in the back, quoting "supply issues"...I 100% understand that there are global supply issues, but they do have some in the back that they keep for people buying complete systems...its true, they are very limited, but they have them. My recommendation is, if you must buy from Memory Express, don't buy and leave with the rest of the parts until "find" a video card for you. Its your only leverage.... I'll be shopping elsewhere now. I don't appreciate the "bait and switch" tactic...
Is this Fraud?
I ordered online and they were asking me for my card number to verify my purchase, explaining they needed to call my bank on my behalf . When "I said no I am not comfortable sharing my personal information, I will speak with my bank myself." The rep exclaimed "Nooo don't ask them they will obviously not want you to share your information with us." They charged my account and canceled the order. Sketchy.
Update: Bank confirmed with me they are probably scamming. Never been to a memory express store, don't know if its the customer service trying to steal my information or what.
Mostly positive first experience...
I purchased components for a gaming build through their online store at 6 pm (MST) on December 20th.
i7-12700KF
x1 WD_Black 1TB SSD
x6 Coolermaster MF120's
Lian Li XL Case
Thermaltake Premium Edition 850w PSU
x4 XPG Spectrix DDR4 3600mhz 8GB RAM
x2 12-Port ARGB/PWM Hub's
Shipping was initially free but 3-day via UPS was an extra $50 which was incredible given weight and dimensions. The next morning I realized I had forgot to include a 1TB SSD for my games. I called them at 10:00 AM and had no issue adding to the order. The guy I talked to was incredibly helpful and promised that as soon as I paid the extra invoice for the 2nd SSD, he'd process and include it. 20 minutes later it was done.
I doubted that I'd receive it all before Christmas, as my order was completed @ 10:30 AM on December 21st. No joke, I received my hardware via UPS at 3 PM the next day. From Calgary to Grande Prairie. During Christmas.
I would have given 5 stars but I have 2 issues that brought it down to 4 stars.
First issue was I forgot to get a cooler. They had nothing in stock that was LGA 1700 bracket either in fans, or liquid cooling. I spoke to a guy in the sales department (I wont mention his name) and he promised he'd look into it and call me back within 20 minutes once he had physically checked what options there were for cooling in their warehouse. To this day I've never received that call back. I ended up purchasing a Coreliquid 360R which came with a LGA 1700 retrofit kit from Canadacomputers.
Last issue I had/have was the stock. I don't like how you are restricted to purchasing solely from the online store. The item you need may be out of stock online, but even if its in stock at several locations, you can't get it shipped to you. That's a huge issue. I paid quite a few different shipping charges because I was forced to used other sellers regardless that memoryexpress truly had all the parts I need, they just refused to let the store(s) themselves ship them to me.
I can understand restricting this to GPU sales to prevent scalping, but come on guys. I need a few small items that have multiples in stock at most of your stores yet I'm SOL because they aren't available at the online warehouse? How does that business model work for anyone's benefit?
Anywho, all in all a great experience aside from the couple hiccups.
over 6 months and still no product 😪
It's been over 6 months since I made my special order that was promised to be in my hands within 3 to 8 weeks...they then messaged me 5 months after the initial purchase to say they couldn't fulfill my order...They then said they would do their best to find something that would work to replace my original order, never happen. But did their best to try upsell $1000.00...Ended up canceling the order and went some where else... Lost my business for life over this...
My Favorite Electronics Store
I very rarely leave reviews for anything from products or services but I just had to make an exception in this case. I had the opportunity to deal with Memory Express in Hamilton, Ontario a few times and every time I walk out of the store I feel sense of delight and satisfaction. Undoubtedly, the result of friendly, helpful and extremely professional staff that aims to please. From purchases, returns, pre-orders and value for my money, there has never been a slightest of disappointment. I have always shopped at Canada Computers and Best Buy but can’t claim the same! Memory Express might be a newer brick and mortar store addition to Southern Ontario but already long surpasses my expectations. Please give them a try…Thank you for opening your store in my area. KP
CUSTOMER SERVICE - WHAT A JOKE SHOULD BE NO SERVICE
Like many on this review Memory Express DO NOT HAVE ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE purchased a headset for my wife it ceased working and now 6 weeks later still nothing called today and was advised it could be another 3 months. Do not deal with these people they are the worst and just keep spinning their lies.
I brought my laptop into Memory Express…
I brought my laptop into Memory Express to have the power button looked at, the team there was very helpful and got back to me right-away to let me know that the laptop needed a new switch, however the switch would have to be ordered in which I was told could be up to 10 days away, I told the tech to go ahead and order the switch. 3 days later I was told the laptop was all ready to go for pick-up! WOW! It is nice to see company that under promises but way over delivers. I cant say enough how impressed I have been with Memory Express, I have been dealing with them for a number of years, and can say I have in all cases been very satisfied with the services provided by memory Express! AAA rating in my books!
No-Star Review
First off this is not a one-star review! This is a no-star review! My wife and I just had the most unpleasant shopping experience of our lives. We spent over two grand on a custom-built piece of junk that had exhibited issues from day one. It was in the shop for two weeks, they apparently fixed it, and when we hooked it up it had the same problem again. One Minh, the company's (or exchange shop, to be more precise) decision maker, refused to give us the full refund, and charged us 15% restocking fee! We should have returned the product earlier, so we're told! For the product whose event logs show 6 or 7 days of use, most of them while in the repair shop! So don't believe the TV ads and billboards, this is the thanks you get as a frontline worker from one Minh here in Canada! With all the deadline extensions from the government and real business in the past year, one Minh thinks that a front line worker should have abandoned their post at the hospital so that the product that was faulty from day one could be returned on time. I feel sorry for all the nice guys that work for this character. Shame on you Minh! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!
Manager to me to shop somewhere else
I have been a customer of Memory Express for over 25 years and I'll never purchase anything from them again. I went into purchase a $299 elgato key light and a NorthBayou Monitor Arm. As under there price protection that will match and beat the price by 10% the monitor arm on amazon was $59.99 which they were selling it for $89.99. As the manager at Memory Express "Bald Guy" said Ohh no we can't match that it is a reseller on amazon. Did not offer to lower there price by one penny. So I asked the manager so I can get both products online, are tell me that I should purchase these online? He said Yes. And so I left. This shocked me and didn't wanted to do anything for my business. K here is my point. I want shop locally to do my part at the time that every local business needs a little help and trust me I'm always willing to spend a bit extra because as a retail store has extra expenses but $30 more and not moving at all on the price where this is clearly priced incorretly this was insulting and more importantly the manager not doing or offering anything to keep a customer? I hate to part ways seeing that for over 25 years I enjoyed purchasing products from Memory Express, but when I'm told to shop somewhere else I guess I'll do as instructed.
Update: a person did contact me from Memory Express to try to resolve the issue. As I did what I was told I already purchased the products that I needed from somewhere else. As I told them when your manager tells a customer to go shop somewhere else, there is nothing to fix other than find a new manager. By the looks of the other reviews I'm not the only one that has had problems at Memory Express in NE Calgary, Alberta.
I hope my experience helps others to not waste there time and do some research from reviews to what maybe over-priced.
M/E Is Very Helpful
I had a great experience here. Jake and Casey were friendly, welcoming and very informative as well as helpful. We have bought a number of items from M/E and they always show us how it works, what it does and what to do if it malfunctions. They show you how to do something in the store and are glad to help.
Useless IPR warranty
Bought a mobo here with IPR warranty, i uprageded a cpu after 2 months and brought my mobo for a quick mount a bios update. I got my mobo in what id say bad condition, io shields are bent and bios reset button are smashed (I have conversations of this to my friends with photo references of this happening).I didnt bother returning it as it works anyways, with some minor issues like audio drivers disappeared but fixed it by reinstalling it.Almost a month after my motherboard went out, brought it back and surprise, my they being elusive with going through IPR warranty and replacing it, blaming its because of thermal paste getting the socket, excuses, excuses, and then finally “PHYSICAL DAMAGE”. That I already stated above that its their doing. Manager didnt even bother reading my detailed conversations with my friends complaining about how they beat up my motherboard for a quick mount. Totally disregarded my solid proof and said “you shouldve taken it back back then” now the blame isnt on them and its on me for not returning it back then. Anyways, dont buy their upsell BS, and if you got anything done from their technician take a photo of before and after.
Waste of time! Pathetic service!
Don't waste your time with this pathetic excuse of a website, they are completely useless and don't respond to emails. I placed on order on the 28th of November, it is now Dec. 13 and still no responses. They send an email after 8 days saying they need more info from me to verify my info and require a government id "to minimize the possibility of unauthorized usage of my credit card" yet they charge it anyways? I sent the details same day and asked some questions and still the status of my order is "waiting for customer" over 2 weeks later with no responses. Pathetic company, don't ever get anything from them!
Lack of response, transparency and customer service
The problem I have with Memory Express is mostly about the lack of response, transparency and customer service. Firstly, I'm not sure if this was an isolate case but I asked if it was possible to change shipping method for an order, I was told a note would be left in order to do it, but they never did. This is fine I thought, I did ask when the order was in process (even though it was still verification phase). Then I asked for another order that wasn't shipped yet, I get no response at all, then I thought to myself fine I guess maybe it's hard to change the shipping method so I let it go. Finally, I only ask for an update on the current status I'm not pressing things, all I want is do you have an idea of how long it could take and if there's a queue how far I am. I don't believe it's too much to ask but I get the silent treatment. I don't believe I was ever rude and as you can see I'm a really easygoing customer, I just wish for a bit more transparency. If you aren't able to change the shipping method just say so, if you don't know whether when there's going to be more stock just say so. As a customer I don't think I'm asking for a lot and I can't even get the basic, so unfortunately I can't recommend this as an online store, maybe at the physical store you'll get a better experience.
memory express is terrible
memory express is terrible, wasted 6 months of my time while never keeping in touch or updating me on the status of my product, it was just unprocessed indefinitely, and I had to remember to email them time and time again. they never held a direct line of communication, you'd think once they assign you an agent they would respond but this guy would often leave my messages hanging for months allowing me to assume that I may have been frauded, they continued to hold about 2k of my money. after six months have passed and they had complications delivering my product, they were very responsive and tried everything to hold my patience, in the end, we agreed to send me my money back so I could make a re-purchase, they had agreed to keep the monitor there and keep in touch with me so we could work out the purchase, as I was about to make this purchase I noticed the price had gone up while they took 6 months to deliver on their end, I had notified them to adjust that for me but they wanted me to pay it and then they will arrange it afterward, which at this point I felt I had exercised enough patience and wasn't willing to buy it for more six months later, I actually went ahead and asked for a 10 % discount seeing as I was loyal enough to wait around 6 months for my stuff while not asking for a refund and was about to rebuy it a second time. I figured the least they could do is show some decency since it was close to black Friday where sales happen anyway and the fact that these guys had the worse customer service they wouldn't mind a 10% discount, but, this is the moment they chose to ghost me, seeing as they no longer held my money and they could no longer be held accountable for fraud. in conclusion, these guys made sure to keep their lines down for more than half a year, while they had staff handling the phones they never made it possible for you to call in and when they would call back they would have no excuse or reason as to why they decided never to update me on my stuff, almost as they had hoped id forget, and when asked to compensate me for my time, they preferred I still paid them the same amount which ended up being more expensive than anywhere else 6 months later, my product had gone up in price on their website. in full this company is gross and takes full advantage of any and all circumstances in order to screw you, they should be ashamed, and their handling of communication is appalling to say the very least, I could not call them, they called me, and when you decide to email them because calling never works, they just stop answering because they just felt like it
Horrible Expience with Memory Express
On November 25th, 2020 WD Red Pro 14 TB drive (SKU MX00113457 PART # WD141KFGX) was listed on the website under Black Friday Week promotion for $409.99 Limit 2 until end of day November 26. 2020. On Nov 26, 2020 a friend took advantage of this sale offer and purchased two items at that price (receipt can be shown). While we was there, he confirmed with the sales associate that the price was valid until end of day and not limited stock but still limit of 2 per person. The sales associate confirmed that the price was valid until the end of the day in store and not limited stock and would GUARANTEE that price until the end of the day. My other friend also there offered to buy the product if need be and was told not to worry about it and that the price was guaranteed. I came prior to closing that day and went to purchase the items but I was denied. I was told to wait for an email from the store. The next day, I talked to General Manager Marcus. Unfortunately, I was treated with complete disrespect. He told me that he did not care about my business after telling him I wanted to support local small businesses during COVID and that is why I waited to purchase it in store. Marcus refused to take my complaint seriously and completely rejected any other solutions. He told me that head office, ownership and etc. did not care about my complaint or future business and he was unwilling to take a profit loss on the item. He refused to give me any other recourse literally saying "the buck stops with me!". My opinion is that two mistakes were made, one with the company website and one with the employee. Marcus refused to compensate for the mistake however he did acknowledge both mistakes. Near the end of the conversation with Marcus, I mentioned that I did a lot of business with the company. He gave me the impression that if I was a big customer he would do something. I only gave my personal number and not business number which I use. After reviewing it, he flat out said I did
every thing they sell
they have the best quality items with the best price in the market, even better than Amazon and online stores.
they even offer to build your pc for free. On top of the fantastic price matching policy.
overall aI will go for this store over and over again
The worst customer servise ever
The worst customer servise ever
I will never ever buy anything from them , i bought a warranty on a gaming headphone, and they didn't want to return it , when i told their manager kakada

DO NOT ORDER ONLINE
DO NOT ORDER ONLINE. Charged my credit card then proceeded to put my order on hold. Tried contacting them through e-mail and phone on July 8th, received a phone call on July 13. Extremely dissatisfied by the service as I was not notified of what was going on and was unable to change the company I ordered from to receive my computer parts on time.
Do not order from them
Do not order from them. They charged my card, then told me they couldn't charge my card and that my order was therefore cancelled, and then they started ignoring my emails.
DON'T ORDER ONLINE
DON'T ORDER ONLINE, it's a waste of time. It is really a waste of time...Don't sell online if you can't be like the others. Giving more personal identification is not right. Credit card info is enough like the other companies Amazon, Walmart, Rona are asking...Again DON'T SELL ONLINE IF YOU ARE JUST WASTING A PERSON'S TIME. Now I should wait 3-7 days for you to give back my money. How come you are asking personal identification for verification if you already have my money.
