this company had someone arrested over chicken and fruit cups instead of just giving the kid a verbal warning!

Cheap ass bastards. Multi billion dollar company, crying over some fruit cups. There were other ways to go about this situation, instead of embarrassing this young man. I pray your business goes busted.

Dispicable management. I used to work for walmart if a grown adult ate food they fired them. they didnt wait until they could arrest them let alone a teen. I will never shop there again.

The customer service i got was so horrible... staff were mean, they even yelled at a 16 year old kid at one point.

They seem to have no moral or ethics.... That poor kid were only taking something out of the trashcan that he lost, but they were all over him...

Such a shame, to the people who were doing harm, please take a look in the mirror.

Just for a fruit cups, they put him in jail over a FRUIT CUP WORTH $1, and also manager likes to lick ass of the boss.

If I could give zero stars, I would. The story out of this store and how they treat people is nothing short of disgusting. A disabled teenager, hungry and doing his best to hold down a job, was seen taking discarded fruit cups from the trash. Instead of offering compassion or even addressing it like a human being, management watched him do this day after day until the value “added up” enough to press charges. Think about that: rather than show kindness, they set a trap for a vulnerable kid.

This isn’t about theft, this is about cruelty, negligence, and an utter lack of humanity. No decent company should allow managers to criminalize a hungry special-needs teen for eating food that was being thrown away anyway. Shame on Meijer. You’ve lost my respect, my business, and hopefully the business of anyone else who believes people deserve dignity.

In stead of arresting that young man your company should have had some compassion and allow your employee to have a meal because obviously he was HUNGRY!!!! And a child at that!! SMH To have him arrested instead of talking to him and finding out what the issue was is insane! Obviously the young man was hungry and a company that makes billions should have allowed that young man an employee meal while on the clock! This is unacceptable and sickening to say the least!!!
