Mayo Wynne Baxter LLP – Unfair Billing Practices
I had an extremely disappointing experience with Mayo Wynne Baxter LLP, particularly regarding their unjustified billing practices and lack of transparency.

Charged for Unrequested Legal Advice
After I explicitly asked to pause my case, the lawyer continued working and billed me £660 for legal advice I never requested. This was completely unauthorized and should not have been charged.

Billed for a Lawyer's Delays
I was charged £33 for an email in which the lawyer informed me that he was late due to an emergency court case. This was not legal advice or actual work on my case, yet I was expected to pay for it.

Unjustified Charges for Basic Requests
I was billed for simply asking for a copy of the defendant’s lawyer’s letter, which should have been provided as part of the case. Instead of just forwarding the letter, they turned it into a chargeable item.

Charged for Asking About My Own Invoice
I was even billed to request an explanation of my charges. Instead of transparently explaining their charges, they turned my simple inquiry into another fee.

Delayed Case Handling, Misnaming, and Unjustified Charges
The lawyer held onto my case for months, only to say they wouldn’t take it without providing any clear explanation. Despite this, I was still billed for their so-called "review." Worse, they completely misnamed and misunderstood my case without even attempting to understand the background or details, yet still charged me based on their incorrect assumptions. Even though I provided clear information, they delayed addressing the real issues and billed me for work that was irrelevant to my situation.

This is, by far, the most expensive and unreasonable law firm I have dealt with. Their billing practices feel predatory,
If you are considering using this firm, be extremely cautious. Always question their invoices, as you may be charged for emails, delays, explanations of their fees, and work you never requested.
I would strongly advise against using this law firm unless you are comfortable with excessive fees and unexplained charges.

We have now used Mayo Wynn Baxter for several house sales and purchases. In all cases they have been very helpful, efficient and professional. Staff are always available and willing to discuss and action any necessary work to progress the contract.

My experience of buying and selling 3 properties through this firm showed me that they were efficient, reliable and always willing to explain or deal with my anxieties. They were unfailingly polite, pleasant and professional.

I used Gail Waller she allowed their barrister to to talk to me in an unacceptable way James Aldridge for over an hour.
I’m still left terribly upset till this day.

My complaint was before any outcome of my case but it did encourage me to have a face to face meeting with Dr Ponnusami and managers of Angmering medical centre,
To which they have put procedures in place so this happens to no one else, which I think speaks volumes.
I would advise you talk to Gail Waller about what happened to me on that day as she didn’t participate in the so called discussion as she did not lift her head from her desk to support the abuse I had to deal with more Dr Caudill whom on occasions looked very uncomfortable.

Marika and everyone i spoke to MWB were super helpful and professional . Marika dealt with my case . the timeline was tight.
