Very poor customer service
Very disappointing experience with Matrix Menswear.
I returned an item that didn’t fit, fully in line with their stated returns policy (unworn, tags attached, original packaging). They were very reluctant to offer a refund and instead pushed store credit or exchange. After a lot of back and forth, they finally agreed to issue a refund but only after having to quote my rights and their own store’s return policy.
However, once they received the item, the situation dragged on with delays and excuses, including claims of “technical limitations” preventing a refund — which is simply not acceptable. Even after confirming the refund would be processed within 1 working day, there was no communication nor confirmation without further chasing.
Overall, poor customer service, inconsistent communication, and a lack of accountability. I would be cautious about ordering if you think you may need to return anything. I won’t be ordering from them again.

We’re really sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate your feedback.
To clarify, once returns are delivered back to us, they still need to be checked and processed by our warehouse team, which can take a couple of working days. In this case, your refund was processed shortly after your last email, and any further delay would be down to bank processing times.
We always try to offer exchanges or store credit as a faster option where possible, but we understand this doesn’t suit everyone.

Hassle free and good quality on second item but not first
Very nice that I received a credit note when a small tshirt arrived enormous so I want best pleased that I didn’t get a refund but ok I still got some sort of money back but just don’t think there is much choice at matrix so held out n got a Burberry polo but it was just for the sake of using the credit note as my email said it was for life but it had an expired date of a year when it arrived but overall the qualities really good dnd it arrived very hassle free so good company just need brushing up around the edges but great discount when butting more than one item

Rude customer service, have to pay to return, only credit notes or exchanges and have to pay to send back and pay to exchange!
Will never be purchasing again from this company,
Rude customer service, they definitely need some customer quality care training on the handling of responses via email.
You have to pay to return the item (most items are expensive, so you won’t want to risk sending normal/ cheaper options of postage) so I had to pay £10 to send back.
I was not allowed a refund, only a credit note or an exchange (for a £300 item) and then I also had to pay £5 postage for the new item exchanged to be sent out to me,
I’ve never had to deal with this kind of service before.
I will now make sure now to always buy from the main supplier instead of companies like this
You get what you pay for I guess

All of the returns information you’ve mentioned — including the fact that return postage is the customer’s responsibility and that exchanges carry a small re-shipping fee — is clearly outlined in our Returns Policy, which is available before purchase and again at checkout.
You were not refused a refund; when your return was processed, you selected an exchange rather than a refund. Exchanges do involve additional handling costs, which is why there is a postage fee for sending out the replacement item.
As a small independent business, we operate on very tight margins. This is why our policy is structured this way. It’s also worth noting that your first order was shipped out to you free of charge.
We always aim to be transparent with our customers, and we’re sorry if this was not clear at the time of your purchase. We’re disappointed to see this review as it doesn’t reflect the full situation. You opened a payment dispute with your bank, which meant we were legally unable to process a refund until the case was resolved. Once the case was closed in our favour, we immediately issued your refund as promised.
To suggest that we “lied” or refused a refund is simply untrue — the delay was entirely due to the dispute process that you yourself initiated.
We pride ourselves on being transparent and fair with all customers, but when a case is open, refunds cannot be processed until it’s legally cleared. Despite this, you did receive your refund in full.
We hope this clears up any misunderstanding.

I purchased a sweatshirt for £198 and £5 delivery charge. Upon receiving the item i found it was too small so the day after I sent it back. They accepted the return and asked me to pick something else from their website. I explained I didn’t want anything and just want a refund. I received a email explaining they refunded me of £193. When I checked my email I seen they taken £5 for no apparent reason. I’ve sent a email for an explanation to which I haven’t received a reply . So stay clear and shop from reputable stores. Oh and it cost me £11 to send back so all in all I’m out of pocket.

Shipping costs are non-refundable, return postage is the responsibility of the customer, and we apply a small restocking/return handling fee (usually £5–£10) due to the very tight margins we work on.
In your case, the £5 fee was applied in line with this policy. While we always encourage exchanges to avoid additional costs, refunds are still available subject to these conditions.
