Honestly I could not recommend them less. We had problem after problem when we arrived, and the staff were SO rude! Our hire expired because our plane was delayed - they tried to charge us £250 extra to get the same car we’d already paid for, then we had to wait 2 hours to get the car. Also they lied to us about needing to buy insurance, saying there would be a huge transaction fee if we paid the deposit on our card - there wasn’t, they were just lying to try and sell it to us. If I could give less than one star I would. I’ve never experienced service this bad

Feels like a scam. I don’t understand this is legal. You book online a car thinking this the actual price. Once you get to the counter, after 1,5h waiting queue, you have to pay more then double in additional costs, from 180 euro online to 520 euro in total but you can’t cancel otherwise you lose the 180 euro you payed for the online booking. Never use this company.

Si on pouvait mettre 0 étoile, je le ferai ! 2h30 de retard sur la prise en charge du véhicule, aucun employé disponible pour nous accompagner vérifier l'état du véhicule avant la prise en charge et jante de la voiture endommagée à notre arrivée. L'entreprise nie en bloc que le dégât constaté à notre retour était présent au départ en justifiant qu'aucun employé n'a constaté le dégât de lui-même, alors que nous avons une photo ainsi qu'une vidéo de l'état de la voiture quand nous l'avons récupéré avec le dégât visible. Nous avons fourni toutes les preuves nécessaires avec les dates/heures comme ils l'ont demandé pour nous rendre la caution, mais ils n'en tiennent pas compte et retiennent notre argent. Agence de très mauvaise foi, nous n'allons pas en rester là et payer 175 € pour un dégât que nous n'avons pas commis. Nous avons contacté une association de protection des consommateurs et monté un dossier. Nous engagerons toutes les procédures nécessaires à notre disposition et demanderons des dommages et intérêts à l'encontre de Goldcar en plus du remboursement total de la caution !

Worst car rental company, I had a very bad experience.
I booked online for a fixed price. When I got to the counter to pick up the keys, just because I didn't have a credit card, they made us pay an extra €250, plus premium insurance otherwise nothing done. Without previously informing us. Then, a month later, after I returned the car, they charged us an extra €40 for "account management" without my authorisation.

Car returned in perfect condition and signed for then charged €150 for a deep clean. Booked through AutoEurope who say they can't do much unless I can provide pictures. Why would I take pictures if the car was returned in good order and signed off as such? They also tried to tell me that insurance paid through AutoEurope was invalid. AVOID THEM

The experience with renting a car in Goldcar Bari is very good. I am glad that I paid for full insurance and especially the key and go service. I saved a lot of time and stress when renting a car. I did not have to go through the queues that were at the airport not only at Goldcar, but also at all other rental companies. I picked up the vehicle in a few minutes and was able to drive. I also had peace of mind thanks to the full insurance, because in the south of Italy there is a high probability that something will happen. If you want to enjoy a stress-free vacation, do not skimp on insurance. For me, an excellent experience with Goldcar, so I can recommend it.

Do not use. I wish I had read the reviews. It wasn't until after my extortion experience I checked the reviews. I am not sure I have ever seen a company with such negative publicity. Avoid avoid avoid!

The worst rental company out there, you pay in advance and at site they treat you like shit, questioning your choice of car, selling you insurances and claiming that the one you have from VISA are not enough…and in the end you can’t pay the deposit because they claim something is wrong with your card. After almost two hours the neighboring rental company managed to get me a car in 5 minutes and nothing was wrong with the credit card.

Billet avion Ryanair ok puis je retombe sur site goldcar pour louer voiture et je prends l'assurance sur le même site dégâts + conducteurs supplémentaires. A Malaga, après 45 minutes, on s'entend dire que cette assurance n'est pas valable pour eux Que je dois appeler "l'Angleterre" ?! pour annuler. Et surtout que je dois payer 184 € pour assurance dégâts+ 70€ par conducteur supplémentaire. Aucun moyen d'être entendu : réactions plutôt méprisantes : aucune alternative. En gros, c'est de notre faute d'avoir pris une assurance en suivant la procédure du site Web . Ryanair envoie vers Goldcar qui envoie vers rental cover qui n'est pas reconnu ?! Fuir Gold Car

Alquilamos un coche en Alicante con ellos y en la entrega nos imputan un rasponazo de 2cm en los bajos que no cometimos nosotros. Invisible completamente. Por esto nos retienen la fianza de 1100 € y nos quieren cobrar 150€ por el daño y gastos de administración. Unos auténticos estafadores

Downgrading to one star now that our fuel deposit still have not been refunded. Not even a reply here.

One week since we returned with the car back but there has been no refund of our fuel deposit yet. Otherwise we would give four stars.
Slight upgrade of car when we arrived, but this is quite common with rental companies. A bit slow process when we arrived, but it was late (midnight+) so no problem.
Smooth delivery process, so now we only wait for the deposit to be refunded.

Unos auténticos maleducados, nada más llegar a recoger el vehículo en Alicante la chica ya me pregunto si tenía algún problema por mirarla a los ojos cuando me hablaba y despues un trato pésimo protestando por todo y de malas formas, no te indica el procedimiento de devolución y te obligan a dejar una franquicia de 1100 euros y que si lo pagas con tarjeta de débito que no te aseguran que te lo devuelvan tiene que ser con una de crédito según ella asique no nos quedó más remedio que pagar un seguro que indirectamente te obligan a contratarlo me cobraron 412 euros 170 de seguro tasas de aeropuerto, medioambiental y tasa por recogida tardía ya que nuestro avión se retraso en la salida. Unos sinvergüenzas no recomiendo nada este sitio para alquilar

What a terrible company. My booking was cancelled because I used an initial for my first name. Then had to rebook at nearly four times the price.
Will never use again

Nunca alquiles con Goldcar, todos son problemas! Para que me devolvieran un cobro (de un error de ellos) tube que amenazar con ir a la policía a pesar que les presente evidencias inequicables.
Peor compañía de seguro con diferencia !!!

This company looks like a Scam. I did a reservation, and the pricing was pretty explicit in the App, but then when I tried to get the car they present additional costs. This is totally unacceptable. Please be aware. Don't destroy your travel or your vacations by using this SCAM COMPANY. Find another one.

They wouldn't accept our international drivers license without the original canadian drivers licence. in the end they charged us 90 euro surcharge saying they were doing us a favour. The car was a hybrid mg which was a dreadful car, not fuel efficient, beeping constantly, no radio, uncomfortable seats. Overall, it was a dreadful company to do business with, they are crooks and their fleet of cars is terrible.

Un auténtico desastre. Más de una hora y media de espera en el aeropuerto de Alicante para la retirada del vehículo.
Para la entrega de nuevo todo un problema. Primera y última vez en utilizar los servicios de Gold Car, más que Gold car es… plástico car.

When I booked the car, it was advertised as "Mitsubishi ASX or similar". On picking it up, it is a "Sangyong" - a cheap chinese make with horrible ergonomics.
They also try to upsell me to a 'more comfortable' car (a Kia, which I'm not sure is that much better than a Sangyong) and get slightly annoyed when I don't want to pay extra for insurance (despite proving that I'd already paid for excess insurance through rentalcover.com). They also take a 4-figure deposit hold on my credit card and claim the insurance is only "third party" to try to scare me into buying their extra insurance, which I'm sure is a lie.

I looked after the car perfectly, but a few days after returning it I get an email claiming there is damage to the right mirror housing. Goldcar are trying to fleece me of 40 euros for that with an admin fee of 50 euros - total of 90 euros.

Basically a protection racket - avoid
