I am generally not a fan of bad reviews, but in this case, I would like to protect anyone from being in my situation. As said in other reviews, they scam you into an agreement with no way out and no guarantee that the equipment will work or that they will be able to render the services they are charging for. When contacting customer service, I was told this is a DIY company and you are responsible for making sure the service is active and functional. My panel was apparently not sending a signal due to a tower upgrade and despite installing the new 4g card, it remained inactive for an entire year before the issue was resolved, all of which I was billed for. When I expressed my displeasure with the service and asked not for my money back, but to end the contract early, they offered to "let me buyback the contract at a 25% discount" charging me hundreds of dollars to cancel. Elyse from customer service was rude, dismissive and dishonest. With my last contract, she offered a new panel and instead sent a computer card that I had to install myself and once installed didn't even work. I spent hours on the phone with customer service troubleshooting to finally had to mail the panel back for repairs. I do not recommend this company. Look elsewhere for your home security if you love your family.

Being a DIY service, our account holders do need to preform maintenance checks on their systems. However, we do provide notices for issues as well. On your Security panel there is an error banner, and on the app, there is an error notification. Our monitoring center will call you when the system stops signaling, and we will call if those notices go unchecked and the issue persists. Which was the case in January of 2023 when we first started reaching out to you about your need for the 4G upgrade. We offered the new agreement to you at that time in exchange for this upgrade and you agreed to a 3-year agreement at a lower monthly rate, a free 4G module, which was sent in March 2023, and one free month of service. We called again when the new module had not been fully installed as a call is required to activate it. We performed a free overnight flash and install of that module for you when we were able to reach you. I do see that earlier this last year, we reached out due to a poor signal and worked with you on suggestions to strengthen that. We are always happy to help troubleshoot and have a 3-year warranty on your equipment if unable to find a solution. Your system is currently up and running and has been signaling to us for several months. The most recent error that was reported was from March 2024, which we were speaking with you about over email at that time. I understand that the requirement to fulfill the agreement sent last year for the free equipment, lower rate, and free month, has caused your dissatisfaction. We do offer to cover 25 percent of the buyout to help with these situations. Thank you for your understanding.

This company is a fraud and will steal…

This company is a fraud and will steal your money from your account and not provide any services! Ask me how I know? Because I am a living witness I informed them the system was not working and it was blacked out and service was not needed anymore. Yet they continued to withdrawal money from my account. I hope the money they have taken from a single mother striving to provide for her kids was useful and given to someone who has less than what I have at this moment. Who just takes from people and sleeps good at night this company? Run far away do not engage in their services it’s BS! Laura was the customer service agent who giggled as I told her how inhumane they were and has been very unhelpful throughout this process. Money was paid but I did not get any services for months they have taken my money.

Hello, we reviewed your account, and it looks like you did inform us that the system was not working and that you were having panel issues. We did send you some troubleshooting steps and advised you to call us to troubleshoot further but never heard from you. Since then we have been reaching out at least once a month via phone and email about this in order to get your system up and working . We will not just cancel an account based on no use. We require you to email or call in to terminate your services. While your services were not being utilized, they were readily available to you once you troubleshot your panel with us. We did review all of the recorded interactions you had with our agents, and I assure you there was no giggling on our end as our goal is to get your system up and running.

Never ending problems

Never ending problems. On the phone with them every month. They keep identifying new issues with the sensors and the brain. Replaced most of the equipment and gladly paid for it, my problem is that they cannot get my system working no matter what. I don't mind paying, just fix my system!!!! Thoroughly disgusted.

I agreed, but they turned off my service immediately. When I called to correct the issue they refused to turn on my service through the date in which I paid or compensate for services not rendered.

Our records indicate you called to cancel in May and we advised you of the 30-day cancellation requirement. You agreed to pay for the final month but still canceled as you'd already signed up with another company. You listed the date of cancellation as May 7 on your DocuSign which is why the service was cancelled. The process for cancelation takes some time which is why we require a 30-day notice. The account was closed May 22, which is after the requested date but before June, as you did not advise us you wanted to use the service through that cancelation requirement. We're sorry to lose you as a customer, but wish you the best in the future.

RUN AWAY

Absolutely terrible experience with Link. A sales rep reached out to me in early 2018. He did a great job selling but terrible job explaining the setup of the system. When I got the system and tried to install it, I realized that this does NOT work for doors that aren't perfectly in line with their door frames (which is pretty common in older homes). When I explained this to Link, their initial solution was to use 3M stickies to get the sensors to line up with each other. To reiterate, their suggestion was for me to be MacGyver and rely on 3M stickies for a HOME SECURITY SYSTEM. I explained that this was unacceptable (what if the sensors fall off the door? I'm supposed to feel safe knowing my security system is relying on 3M stickies lined up?) and their next solution was to use different sensors - ones that get drilled into the door and frame. I said no, that is not what I want to do, as that is not what I originally ordered and if I had known the only option for my doors was to now drill into my doors, I would never have ordered it. At that point, I had already paid for 4 months of service without using the service for even a day. I asked to cancel since this was not working in my house (and this was after trying their suggestions) and the refused. The only thing they offered was a discount on a buyout. So, fast forward to July 2020 and my service is just now ending, and I had to pay $30 a month for two years without ever using the service. They are 100% unwilling to work with you on canceling the service if it does not work for your home, and cling to contracts. I understand how contracts work, but as someone who works in the service industry, I have time and time again severed contracts if the relationship REALLY isn't working. Why should both parties suffer? Link does not care - please know this before you sign up with them. You have been warned.

Edit: see response from Link in which they reiterated everything I already said (options being to rely on foam for a home security system or drill into my door when that is never what I wanted/ordered), but failed to mention that they did nothing about charging me every month for two years knowing that their product did not work in my home - killer response folks

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry things didn't work out. We offered plankfoam that allows you to buildup a base to line up the sensors. This option works very well and has worked for thousands of our customers. Since you weren't happy with that option we offered you recessed sensors. Recessed sensors are your best option to resolve when doors don't line up. And unfortunately you didn't want to try this option either. There aren't any other options in security for door sensors to work properly. We are sorry that we couldn't make it work and wish you all the best.

Andrea is fantastic---embodies excellent customer service--should get a promotion

I just got off the phone with Andrea from Link Interactive and she is really stellar. I was initially going to move to ADT because they have a long history in security, however their customer service is very poor and they have a confusing deal with third parties so it's not clear who you are actually dealing with at any given time. Andrea from Link allowed me to take some time to think about getting the home security system without any pressure whatsoever (not the situation with other home security companies--I've called a few in my search for one). Andrea even asked if I wanted her to call me back in 15 mins so I could think about it more. I got back on the phone and she answered all my questions and was very personable. I was just impressed by her and therein, Link Interactive. Looking forward to working with them.

Ongoing issues, in almost every way.

Way too many issues with sales people not knowing their product, shipping the wrong stuff, techs not knowing how to install, and despite my attempts to avoid these issues over and over with all their reassurances, they kept happening. :(
The dispatch people are nice enough, but will dispatch someone then spend 10min on the phone with you leading up to the fact that they dispatched police (which I then need to immediately cancel, if possible!) because we haven't found a way for my users to confirm their identities for false alarms.
Still with malfunctioning equipment, unacceptable installs, and still can't figure out an appropriate way to use the service in a way that works for us. Working on it...

Excellent customer service

Joseph Barker was very helpful in explaining the different plans offered. He was thorough and very patient with the noise from all my little one's in the background. I appreciated how he promoted Link Interactive's security without relying on belittling other companies. I also appreciated how he left me free to choose the plan I liked and did not pressure me into a contract on the first call. I am confident in Link Interactive after reading numerous positive reviews, and if we ever run into an issue, Joseph has left us with a positive experience from customer service. Thank you!

HORRIBLE COMPANY

HORRIBLE COMPANY. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY ARE ALL A BUNCH OF LIARS SO BEWARE. DEBBIE ELLIOT processed A payment using my debit card on April 6th 2018 (which I authorized that one time payment in the amount of $69.98 in order to bring the account current OVER THE PHONE IN AGREEMENT ON A RECORDED LINK INTERACTIVE LINE that I would only process a payment if a proper document was emailed to me stating that I did not put my account on autodraft when I made my February 2018 payment using bank account ending in **** in order for me to get the overdraft fees my bank charged for the account ending in **** being auto drafted without my consent in April 2018. ON THAT RECORDED PHONE CALL IT WAS STATED AND AGREED TO THAT THE PAYMENT WOULD NOT BE PROCESSED UNTIL THE BANK ACCOUNT ENDING IN **** WAS DELETED OFF FILE (WHICH DEBBIE REASSURED ME THAT THE ACCOUNT WAS DELETED WHILE I WAS ON THE PHONE) AND AFTER THE LETTER WAS EMAILED OUT TO ME LATER THAT EVENING BEFORE 2PM BECAUSE I REFUSED TO PAY MY BANK OVER $100 IN NSF FEES AND PAY LINK INTERACTIVE $70 ALSO WHEN THEY WERE THE CAUSE OF THOSE NSF FEES. INSTEAD OF EMAILING ME THE LETTER FIRST, "THIS EMAIL DATED APRIL 6TH 2018 CLEARLY STATES THAT THE PAYMENT WAS ALREADY PROCESSED AND THE LETTER IS ATTACHED". I DID NOT HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO REVIEW THE LETTER BEFORE THE PAYMENT WAS PROCESSED AS AGREED. THE EMAILED LETTER WAS NOT SUFFICIENT BECAUSE IT STATED THAT I WAS UNAWARE THAT I PUT MY ACCOUNT ON AUTODRAFT. I STATED MULTIPLE TIMES IN THAT PHONE CALL THAT I DID NOT PUT THAT ACCOUNT ON AUTODRAFT I JUST MADE A ONE TIME PAYMENT. AFTER READING THE LETTER I CONTACTED LINK INTERACTIVE THAT SAME EVENING AND SPOKE WITH SHAI AND TOLD HER TO CANCEL THE PENDING APRIL PAYMENT OF $69.98 AND DELETE MY CARD INFORMATION BECAUSE THAT LETTER MADE IT SEEM AS THOUGH I PUT THE ACCOUNT ON AUTODRAFT WHEN I DID NOT. I ALSO ADVISED THAT THE CONTRACT BE CANCELED AND THEY SEND IT TO COLLECTIONS BECAUSE I REFUSED TO KEEP DOING BUSINESS WITH SUCH A COMPANY. SHAI ADVISED ME THAT I WOULD OWE A FEE FOR THE REMAINING MONTHS AND I TOLD HER I WOULD LIKE TO SEVER TIES BETWEEN MYSELF AND LINK INTERACTIVE EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY. INSTEAD OF ALLOWING THE CONTRACT TO BE CANCELED UPON REQUEST LINK INTERACTIVE VIOLATED MY RIGHTS AND ATTEMPTED TO CHARGE DEBIT CARD **** AND BANK ACCOUNT **** FOR A MAY 2018 PAYMENT caused me more fees from both Credit Unions and other companies that I had pending payments being ACH for that have declined due to link interactive's actions. I called numerous times on May 2nd to get the payment from card **** refunded back to me but I was met with excuses of how I set the card as auto pay (WHEN IN REALITY DEBBIES EMAIL PROVES THAT I DID NOT EVEN PUT THE CARD ON FILE MYSELF IN APRIL SO SHE PUT THE CARD ON AUTOPAY WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE WHEN SUBMITTING THE APRIL PAYMENT). I SPOKE VALERIE AND WAS MET WITH EXCUSES. I ALSO SPOKE WITH A SUPERVISOR CHRIS ON MAY 2ND 2018 AND HE ADVISED ME (ON A RECORDED LINE) THAT ALTHOUGH I REQUESTED THE CONTRACT BE CANCELED IT COULD NOT BE CANCELED BECAUSE IT WASN'T SIGNED BY JUST MYSELF. I ASKED WHO ELSE SIGNED THE AGREEMENT THEN. HE STATE THAT BY BOTH MYSELF AND LINK INTERACTIVE SIGNING THE AGREEMENT I AM NOT ALLOWED TO JUST CANCEL. THIS IS FORCED BEHAVIOR ON BEHALF OF THE COMPANY. LINK INTERACTIVE IS CAUSING ME EXCESSIVE FEES FROM NUMEROUS OTHER MERCHANTS AND THIS BEHAVIOR IS RIDICILOUS AND ILLEGAL. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH A LAWYER AND THE COMPANY IS INDEED VIOLATING MY RIGHTS TO SEVER TIES AS PREVIOUSLY REQUESTED ON APRIL 6TH. I WANT THE UNAUTHORIZED PAYMENT DEBITED FROM MY DEBIT CARD RETURNED IMMEDIATELY AND AN EMAILED LETTER STATING WHO PUT THAT CARD ON AUTOPAY & THAT THE BANK ACCOUNT ENDING IN **** WAS ALSO ACH WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION ON APRIL 6TH 2018 AFTER I WAS TOLD THE ACCOUNT WAS DELETED FROM LINK INTERACTIVES RECORDS. I requested that all forms of communication come ONLY in the form of email so everything said can be documented and no more lies can be told on link's behalf. I also requested that I be mailed a copy of the recordings of each phone call I placed on April 6th 2018 and May 2nd 2018.

Joseph Barker is one of the only salespeople I've ever liked. He's genuine, knowledgeable, and articulate. I asked for quotes from several other companies but based on the voicemails they left me I didn't even bother to hear pricing; I only felt comfortable making a purchase like this with Joseph. He has been kind and answered all of my (many) questions with ease. He never paused like he needed to look up the answer to my questions and I never felt like he was reading from a script or giving me generic replies. 10/10 would do business with you again only because of Joseph.

I was able to do everything completely online.

I am very satisfied with my experience so far. I signed up online and was not willing to talk over the phone since I am extremely busy. I had someone actually take the time to email me and walk me throught the process. I cannot wait until my items arrive and we can set it up!

Horrible equipment

Horrible equipment. I keep getting faulty sensors from them. This is my third home alarm with a do-it-yourself install. Never had this problem before. I would go somewhere else.

Big fan of Link Interactive

After doing extensive research on alarm providers I was optimistic to sign up with Link Interactive based on reviews and outstanding value. The install process was fairly easy as we could integrate our old hard wire system. It was slightly complicated but I enjoy technical thinks like that. If you aren't crazy about the idea of connecting wires, etc. then go wireless! My sales rep was wonderful (Nina Burnett) and a huge shout out to Joe Fowers who was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and made the process painless. His follow up and assistance was invaluable. Currently a huge fan and hope this continues!

After researching to compare companies, I received an email from Lacy. She respected the fact that I did not want 1000 sales calls and offered to send me information to help me decide via email. It was easy to navigate, decide and purchase. The items came, they were easy to decipher and set up and automatic billing is convenient. Good product, Great service

I installed Link Interactive security and life systems almost a year ago and I only get more impressed with their service as time goes on. The hardware installation and set up with the central station went smoothly, although I had a few questions about some tricky door alarms. The customer service was terrific in answering all my questions. And since then, I have had a few instances where I needed help and every time LI was excellent in assisting me. And adding components after the initial install is straight forward. Finally, their integration with Alarms.com offers a great app when you want to control things when away from home. Plus the IQ-2 offers a good amount of flexibility in terms of home automation.
