Buying a bike made easy

In a total of 1 month coming backwards and forwards with multiple demo bikes finally found the right bike. I’d like to thank you for your patience with myself. A big thank you to Kevin turner for dealing with me. As well as Aaron and joe just like to thank them all. It’s now been my 3rd bike from lings in 7 years and as always excellent service.

Went to the showroom in Harleston and Kevin, the salesman, was very helpful and showed us all around the bike. Arranged to have the bike delivered and once arranged, the bike turned up on early on the day and the delivery driver was very polite and courteous. Would definately recommend.

The Salesman Aaron was very helpful, knowledgeable and not pushy. I would happily deal with Lings again.

Update 30/10/23:
Having spoken with Ian Baker in Lings customer care team. We discussed all of the issues, Ian assured me that teams members will be retrained on communicating with customers, that it was unfortunate about the numerous delays but the length of these delays were due to sourcing official ducati parts and last but not least, the seat cowl. Lings have ordered a new seat cowl from ducati to be sent to me. So with this update I am boosting the rating up a star, although the initial experience wasn't great, Lings as a company are honest and fair, they want to improve where they can and listen to customer feedback. No one is perfect but Lings are striving for it!
Firstly I bought this bike online, I studied the pictures and was happy with what I could see. My purchase was finalised approximately 22nd August 2023, due to a holiday I agreed with the sales rep to collect the bike on 2nd September 2023 after they had completed a service on the bike. Whilst away I called them to make sure all was OK to be informed they are waiting on some parts but the 2nd should still be okay. On the 2nd I hadn't heard anything so before I went on a 5hr round-trip I called to be told they are still awaiting parts. Its soon became mid September and after constant chasing for updates I was informed the parts had arrived so they will be fitted that day and ready for collection. The next day I was informed on inspection the bike required another part which will have to come from Italy with a possible delivery time of 14 days. At this point I wanted to see the bike so I travelled to Harleston, the bike looked amazing but I noted the seat cowl was missing. I asked the rep and he said it will be in the workshop somewhere as they've had to have the bike apart to work on.
I got the news the part had arrived and been fitted and as a gesture of good will they would deliver it free of charge. At this point I had already taken two days off work to collect the bike on two separate occasions and been told at the last minute each time it was not ready. I didn't see this as a gesture of good will, more of a part solution to the problem.
The bike finally arrived approximately 2nd October minus the seat cowl, a quick call and the rep apologised and posted it express delivery. The next day it arrived, broken. I emailed the rep, no response. I called him and he said that was how it was. I now know that is why in the original advert pictures some had the seat cowl on some had it off. Any pictures that would have shown this damage, the cowl was taken off. I reread the description and there was no details about the damage. I rang the rep back and he said he would ask his manager, I am still waiting for a response. When I purchased the bike I was pushed to pay a £99 refundable deposit, twice I have chased this and three weeks on I am still waiting. The sales rep has informed me it is with their finance team. It has really been painful having to constantly chase and chase Lings Harleston for updates and resolutions. I love the bike but the service i have received has been very disappointing. I expected more professionalism from a large, multi location business.

Kevin was very helpful although delivery date did cause myself inconvenience. Vehicle was paid for on Monday but could not be delivered till Thursday. I did inform him I was going on holiday Thursday and would need bike delivered Tues or Weds.No communication as to a delivery time.

Had a very informative conversation with Kevin about the Husqvarna Norden 901 which I eventually ended up purchasing. Overall a good customer experience I would say

I called Lings Harleston regarding a Honda Africa Twin they had for sale and spoke to a very friendly gent called Kevin Turner. He gave me a fair valuation of my part exchange and provided me with a great video presentation of the bike I was interested in as the dealership wasn’t local to me. I paid for the bike over the phone and excitedly awaited a delivery date. Unfortunately my personal circumstances took a turn for the worse and I was unable to have the bike. I explained this to Kevin and he was sympathetic and understanding, no pushiness or sales driven attitude. A refund was promptly given and a lasting impression has definitely been made. Once my circumstances change I will be straight back to Lings Harleston to make a purchase!
UPDATE
My circumstances changed and I managed to buy the Africa Twin.
The process was smoothly managed from start to finish and the level of customer service was 10 out of 10.

Fab company fast and professional delivery by themselves

Following on from my positive report unfortunately iv had some negative after having the bike a few weeks iv received a final notice that my bike is not taxed, I thought this can't be right as I was advised by the sales man that it had tax till October, phoned lings where the salesman was helpful had only been there 3 days but he spoke to management and there answer was no vehicle comes with tax now, now I no the laws around transferring tax with a vehicle and this wouldn't have been an issue with me taxing it before I left the showroom, but I was told it was already taxed till October and when originally looking at the bike was told it was ready to ride away and none of that READY TO RIDE AWAY part was ever true and I let the long wait slide as I just wanted the bike, I don't care about paying for tax its irrelevant but what gets me I could have been fined or stopped by the police through no fault of my own and its just not good enough from what I thought was a reputable company, the whole process has just been a nightmare and has definitely put me off using lings in the future
