Didn't receive an item

Update: This has now been resolved, after I posted this review.

I bought a package deal for dumbbells, a dumbbell rack and an adjustable bench on Black Friday sales. But I was only sent the dumbbells and dumbbell rack. It's been 6 days since I sent my first email and it is yet to be resolved, or the mistake even acknowledged.

In the email confirming my order, it lists the items as 'part of: hex dumbbell set + adjustable bench + storage rack'. However it seems the order confirmation emails are generated for shipping, and it didn't list the adjustable bench as an item. So there must be some glitch in their website that when you order this package deal, it doesn't add the adjustable bench as an item.

When I emailed them, they first took 3 days to respond. And their response was that the adjustable bench was not included in the order and said to refer to the order confirmation email. So I replied saying that the order confirmation says it is 'part of: hex dumbbell set + adjustable bench + storage rack', I also sent proof that I paid £80 over the cost of just the dumbbells and rack I received (according to the cost of the dumbbells and rack listed on the website).

It has been another 3 days and they have not replied. I don't know what more I have to do to prove what I paid for and that it is their error. I'm hoping someone else on the team from NGE will see this than the person I have been emailing.

Also, on the website they list an email to contact regarding terms and conditions but this email address doesn't work.

You are absolutely right to expect the hex dumbbells, storage rack, and adjustable bench as part of the Black Friday package deal you purchased. From what you’ve described, it does sound like a system error/glitch may have occurred at checkout, and we sincerely apologise that this hasn’t been properly acknowledged or resolved yet. That is not acceptable and is not the level of service we aim to provide.

We’re also very sorry about:

The slow response times

Being told initially that the bench wasn’t included when your confirmation clearly states otherwise

The lack of follow-up after you provided proof of payment

The broken contact email listed on the website

This is extremely disappointing, and we fully understand your loss of confidence.

Re-check your payment against the Black Friday bundle price

Confirm entitlement to the adjustable bench

Arrange immediate dispatch of the bench or a full refund for the bench if you would prefer instead

You should not have to keep proving your case — once this reaches the correct escalation point, it will be resolved properly.

We truly apologise for the stress and inconvenience this has caused, and we do appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to put this right.

Failed to send my goods

Placed an order on 18/11/25 for a significant amount of kit and paid for a 1-2 day delivery, sent an email requesting an ETA on the 21/11/25 and was promised in an email on 21/11/25 delivery would be on the 3/12/25. I have not had any further response and have not received my equipment. very poor service and totally unprofessional, they have failed to respond to any further communications - think carefully before placing any orders with this company!!!1

Still no refund

Following up on my recent review, their customer service team contacted me. They said I could decline the delivery and once returned to them, they would refund me. That was over a week ago and I can see DPD have returned the item. However, I have not been contacted or refunded despite emailing them daily. This is the worst online shopping experience I’ve ever had. I wish I could give them zero stars.

No response at all

No response at all. I paid for 1-2 working days shipping, it’s been 4 working days and they have delivered 1 parcel to the wrong address and part 2 of my order is still at the depot not out for delivery. I have attempted to contact them twice with no response. I am going to request Amex to step in and help as the incorrect delivery with DPD there is no way to contact DPD! This is ridiculous.

Terrible returns process

I returned a kettlebell because the handle was really rough compared to my existing ones from Bulldog gear, and was very uncomfortable to use. I had to pay for returns postage - the item was marked as received into their warehouse on 19th November by the carrier. By 24th November there was still no response from them, so I emailed them to say that it had been delivered to their warehouse, but they have not replied nor refunded me the money - very poor customer service and I am now out of pocket, will be disputing the transaction through my credit card if they do not make contact with me by the end of this week.

incorrect items sent

Ordered a set of dumbbell weights via, Decathlon Marketplace. The wrong weights were delivered, I contacted the company who arranged a pick up. Courier (Evri) could not take them as the items were above their safe weight limit. Spoke to Ryan (employee) who said he would liaise with Evri for pick up, this didn’t happen. I had to chase to be sent another link to Evri, who clearly state the weight limit for return is 15kg, the incorrect items are above the safe limit so no way to return and obtain the correct items.

Part of order missing and not received

Started off really great, placed and order on northern then the Black Friday deals started so they cancelled my order for me and let me redo the order, plus this time added extra to my order (cast iron Olympic plates) received everything but the plates from the order so emailed northern got a quick response, Ryan replied stating he would get these sent right away as they had been missed in the warehouse, had an email off Dpd stating they have received order details but not the items, over a week has gone by, no delivery of cast iron plates and sent northern 6 emails chasing these and no response, so still without plates and still no response! Shame as the product quality on other items received is really good!

Bought over £100 worth of weight plates. They sent the wrong ones. Can’t contact them other than email. The chat doesn’t work. They don’t respond to emails.
They have my money and couldn’t care less.

Still haven’t received my cast iron…

Still haven’t received my cast iron plates.

My partner has emailed 7 times this week and had no response.

Someone at northern previously emailed us saying they had been dispatched but dpd are saying they have knowledge of the order on they’re system but still haven’t received the items to be able to deliver.

Communication is shocking.

I will be ringing American Express to see if I can get my money back.

Never received items and no response

Ordered an a frame with 5 sets of dumbbells. The dumbbells never arrived. DPD tracking still says they have not received the parcel and no one from northern gym replies to any of the customer service item.
I will now have to push decathlon for a refund and I would avoid northern gym as a buyer.

Misleading 'sale' prices. Beware!

Three stars because I did manage to get the items I wanted at a very good price, delivery on time etc.
However, when i went to buy another set of the same items a week later the 'was' price had gone up by over 26%, and the new price after discount was nearly £30 more than I had previously paid. If it's just that they can't afford to maintain the previous discount then they should end the promotion. This way just misleads customers and I'm pretty sure this price manipulation is a breach of trading standards.
My advice would be to do your homework and compare prices with other companys' offers online before buying here.

Poor coms

I have placed an order on the 15th Nov and paid for express delivery. 1-2 day. Order notification received and money taken out of my account £500+. It’s now the 20th. No items delivered, no delivery date sent out, no reply to any emails. Totally disappointed with this service so far. Northern Gym get in touch with me and advise where my order is ASAP.

Misleading Black Friday "Sale"

I've been watching a few items for months. During their 'Black Friday' sale, I saw they just bumped all the prices up and then applied their '30%' discount, only to make things more expensive than they were before.
As an example, an item I was watching was £120. It was suddenly "bumped" to £209, and with the "discount," it's now on sale for £150. They lost me as a customer.

Nice density EVA half round roller 90cm black

Pleased with the density of the EVA half round foam roller. It’s firm enough to stand on without caving in, but has a little bit of give so it doesn’t hurt like some harder rollers, and it doesn’t smear or break off like some softer ones. I cut a chunk off to get the size I needed for my space, cuts fairly cleanly with a bread knife.

I mostly use it for standing and balance work, lovely for stretching toes and ankles, handy for using like a bolster for floor sitting when you need raised up a bit. Great to have if you are sitting and have a cold floor - it’s cosy to have your feet on (basically it’s like standing on a giant CROC shoe).

Item came fairly quickly when I ordered it direct (unlike when I previously tried to order it via Debenhams -they were absolutely rubbish and never bothered to tell me there was no stock - just took my money and left me hanging, then ignored emails for ages before finally refunding)
