Audiologist not recommended

I was waiting out front. The Audiologist (Anabel Valente) came to the desk to see her appointments and I heard her say "What are they doing sat there?" (I was told to sit there)

The Audiologist came over, spoke a few words, then turned her back expecting me to follow. I was taken to the room (8 minutes late).

She did not look at me, spoke few words and was extremely 'frosty' and unfriendly.

She was mostly silent, only kept huffing/sighing like I was an inconvenience. So incredibly disrespectful. She hardly spoke. I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable.

There wasn't a huge queue, because she was running late. So I have no idea why she was so annoyed with me just because I wasn't sat right by her door (Shame as the rest of the staff are amazing and I love chatting to them)

During the hearing test it was difficult to hear the beeps at times due to the Audiologist's breathing with the face mask on, sounds in the shop and noises right outside the door.

The rudest, most horrible customer experience I have ever had. It has completely soured my day. I hope I don't pass her disgruntledness on to anyone else.

I went to Leighton’s in Reading for overdue earwax removal treatment. The service was friendly and highly professional. Because it was overdue, it took a lot perseverance to get the wax out, which I really appreciated. I left being able to hear a lot better and will go next time rather sooner than I did this time. Overall, highly recommended!

My visit to the Leightons hearing department was made welcoming by Elenor. She kept me informed during the procedure and gave helpful advice after.

Had an ear wax removal with Elenor and had a great experience! She explained everything, was very thorough and knowledgable. I would highly recommend going to Elenor if you want to get it done !

The whole experience of going to Leightons (my first time), was excellent from the moment of entering the Practice. The lady who conducted my ear wax removal, Elenor, was so very helpful, friendly and informative and who made this treatment much more relaxing for me (apart from me jerking once - not her fault at all, by the way, just an instinctive reaction!). I shall always be grateful to her and to the friend who recommended Leightons' service to me. I would highly recommend them and I shall certainly visit them again.

Elenor was exceptional. Warm smile on greeting, thorough explanation of procedure and courteous throughout. Only reason 4 rather than 5 stars is the price (far more than local competitors) and the lack of a sound proof booth for the hearing test. I could hear loud voices from the room next door therefore missing some of the sounds on the test! I believe the Woodley branch has a sound proof booth - the Reading town centre store should definitely invest in one as a hearing test is inaccurate without one.

I expected the session to be half an hour but due to how difficult it was to help me it took an hour and a half which the person I saw also took time out of her lunch break to help me and was determined. I can’t express how pleased I am with the appointment and I’d recommend it to anyone that needs this kind of treatment.

Elenor really took the time to give me great care and a comprehensive referral for my GP.

The Staff were very friendly and helpful. Elenor examined my blocked ears and cleaned them one hour before closing.
Excellent service. I hadn't made an appointment so it was especially great customer service.

Explained everything clearly and made me feel at ease throughout.

After many years of hearing problems, I find the answer in Leightons (Opticians) I had a few years with hearing aids supplied by a hospital where I had the ear wax partly removed but within some months returned for the same treatment. Recently my hearing has gotten so bad I thought I had gone deaf.
Now thanks to a nurse at the surgery we use who recommended Leightons I can hear again. Both Eleanor who I saw on 04/11/22 and Anabela saw on11/11/22 were professional, and friendly I certainly will be recommending them and if needed in the future will be return to Leightons.
