Disappointed with Christmas Eve Box Letter
I paid for the Christmas Eve Box to be delivered, WARNING! The box and cuddly reindeer were gorgeous HOWEVER the options were £25 for just the reindeer/£25 for a Letter from Santa OR £50 for both, as they would 'work' together I paid for both. In the box was literally just a postcard with tiny writing (not really as shown on the video advertising it) and certainly it that was what I paid £25 for was extremely disappointed!
Unfortunate People
I get company’s promote through influencers and celebs to get business through the door but most people are aware of LLUK and all other big events, these celebs/influencers can afford a day at these places, there are people wanting to go and pay waiting in queues for tickets, saving all year round and the fortunate ones just get to go, no waiting for tickets, no expense, so why not invest in the unfortunate people who couldn’t afford a day out like this to give there review, am sure you would be astounded
Fails to impress for recent visits. Long and boring queues once there.
Queued for over 1 hour at the end to see Father Christmas. Cold and boring for everyone. Served a shot of cold hot chocolate in the queue which was a poor gesture but I guess better than nothing. A lot of bored and tired kids in the queue, including mine. When you've paid over £1k for a family of 6 you don't expect to have bored kids for a second, or be around many other children crying and whining. It is also pretty much the same year after year, so wouldn't recommend going more than once. Adults should probably also get a small gift considering the price they still pay. Has such potential but when you charge this much it needs to impress again and again every year which it fails to do. No surprises from one year to the next. Shout out to the elves though, the staff do a fab job staying in character.
lovely day but more aimed at under 8s…
lovely day but more aimed at under 8s think the actives should be an under 5 over 5 activities as very simple first visit for us it was lively but definitely aimed a smaller children my 8 year old found it abit boring in places
lovely decor
felt christmassy
very expensive .
Lapland UK had it's day.
Elves were far too theatrical and babbly, the children aged 5 and 3 couldn't really follow and got bored almost immediately literally from check in. By presenting a 'stage' it ruined the magic. The story telling itself was extremely disjointed...all of a sudden without reference to huskys through our entire lapland journey Santa then presented the children with husky toys clearly from stories from past years.
The value for money is shocking I feel quite taken advantage of, especially in the food court....£21 for x2 juice, cans of drink and x2 chips. £7 each for a sausage- they then do not cook the large 'bratwurst' until after 11 so we basically had a child's size sausage in an over large bun for £7...no onions or garnishes or sauces. Then we order x2 pizzas too which was another £30 or so, then another £20 on hot chocolates and a brownie...that's £100 on sub par food.
Santa visit we were queuing up outside the hut and could hear santa talking with the kids inside waiting for 20mins. Then our visit was extremely hurried, ruined my noisy kids shouting outside, santa was literally about 12 years old and spoke in an overly dramatic posh voice...forgot to get in character after playing one of the elves on arrival and was trying to banter with us parents without focusing on the children and didn't personalise the experience (the pre information form was too short, we couldn't even fit in a whole line of information). By this point I felt like crying, I was so upset and underwhelmed by the whole experience, utterly disappointed and felt exhausted.
Worst bit was the tree storytelling before the elven village. I was choking on the smoke machine fire thing and the elves were just weird...it wasn't even remotely Christmassy and such a woke agenda about the 3 R'- recycle, reuse bla bla bla. I don't know who wrote the scripts, but they were dreadful. The Santa's letters we had as well were so full of waffle....we had made it more exciting and magical by making them drop out the chimney.
We were ushered along paths and through 'stuffing' a rabbit toy and icing a gingerbread man. What was the point of the post office experience?....just get the kids to do a bit of homework- letter writing!
My 3 year old had more fun walking back to the car and throwing stones into puddles. It'd been much better to use the forest setting to allow self exploration and play, peek into sets or have elves within their houses or something...given some elven acorn 'tea' etc.
Literally the whole experience was just crap! It was over scheduled and hurried and the elves were essentially kids who must've failed to get into drama school! They all spoke in weird posh voices, babbling and speaking fast- we could barely understand them. I wish I'd booked a week at Centre Parks instead and a santa visit at my local garden centre! Utterly let down and disappointed.
Save your money and disappointment
Attended 2 weeks ago. Have been waiting 10 days for them to rectify their staffs error. Paid for magnet and keyring to hold a family photo £15! Got home as staff packaged it up and the photos were blank!! Have been promised its being sorted now apparently it takes 10 days to arrange postage? First year after daughters chemo and they have ruined the memory. SHAMBLES AND POORLY ORGANISED.
Don’t book unless you know you…
Don’t book unless you know you definitely won’t be poorly in 6 months time when the day comes around. I paid close to £350 with cancellation included, only to not be able to cancel because my illness didn’t fall under what is acceptable, I have full proof of my illness and why couldn’t attend but unless it’s on their list good luck getting a refund; don’t know why I paid extra to cancel if you can’t even cancel, absolute joke. Just about money clearly.
What a wonderful day!
What a wonderful, magical day. Worth every penny, we enjoyed every second. The attention to detail was fab from start to finish. Our tour started at 2pm which was a good time allowing us to experience both day and night. Good food and drink options with usual park prices. It wasn't too crowded and moving from one place to the next was very well thought out. Friendly staff making an effort to make it a magical experience for the kids. The gifts included in the price are good quality. The build up emails for the 'big folk' are detailed and overall a well managed event. Thank you for the memories
There’s nothing more dull than coming…
There’s nothing more dull than coming to this place. Unfortunately ,there’s nothing Christmassy about this place,it’s all theatrical and boring stuff, most of which won’t understand a word they’re saying. We walked from one kingdom to another and they all the same playing silly, nothing interesting or entertaining for kids.
The ice rink was so busy, filled with people can’t skate, the experience with Santa was the last drop on this experience. We got this old guy with some very odd twitching and speaking very fast which gave the impression of a bored and wanting to get it out the way as quick as possible. We’ve got two beautiful toys as early presents ,and a bad taste of never coming back again. It’s definitely overrated and overpriced.
The car park was a nightmare, got stuck in mud ,really hard and confusing to find the way back.
They could do with some improvements, maybe some music especially when people pay thousands for this nightmare.
Definitely won’t come back. We’ve had better experiences going to farms for £25 and Santa was really genuine and welcoming.
Sadly we just wasted over £400 for something I wouldn’t come back for free.
What a utterly horrid time we had at…
What a utterly horrid time we had at Lapland UK, went last year and it was so well organised, with wonderful staff, this year what a complete sham, not sure if they have changed the management or what, staff with no customer service at all, 2 German sausages and 1 chips £27.00, 3 tiny cups of mulled wine, and a child's hot chocolate £24.00. qued for over 1 hour for my kids to see SANTA the star of the show, and what my children had been waiting for for it more this year to be more like the elf show! which lasted all of 5 minutes, surely the highlight at the end should be Santa, and after paying nearly £1K, we expected more that 5 minutes, and it to be with santa, not an Elf taking over
SANTA'S ELF AT LAPLAND UK GOT MY GRANDSON'S NAME WRONG
Well I emailed lapland after our visit on 15th November listing my complaints (as there were many faults on the day) however I will give them more time to reply before I highlight them all on here, the worst thing of all was when we waited to be called to see Santa. The elf came out and called my Granddaughter then called my Grandson by the wrong name! He used his surname and my poor Grandson was devastated! In the gift shop after we saw Santa he whispered to me that he knew it was all fake! Gutted!
Also, I note that when we had questions Lapland came back quick with a reply but they are not responding even to let me know they have the email!
I have sent again and will update, this is not as it seems on their add, beware before you spend your money I have taken our children to far better for far less.
Ignorant and unhelpful staff. Beware they will turn you away if you are a minute EARLY even after a 150 mile journey.
Appalling, simply appalling, we haven’t got in yet and can see why the reviews are so bad. What a horrible person on the entrance, making people turn around back into QUEUING traffic just for being a few minutes early. Sent into a tiny forest car park across the road where there was NO ROOM ! Clowns. Horrible people. Never again. Expensive pathetic experience, we now have upset children, thanks for making ‘Santa’ out to be horrible.
Terrible customer service
We have visited lapland Uk before and its an amazing place to visit.
But be warned, the customer service is appalling.
We have two special needs children and have booked 4 adults and 2 children for this year and didn't manage to get on the superstar day. Unfortunately, one of our children is now experiencing issues relating to their special needs which means they will be unable to travel. We contacted Lapland UK and asked if we could have a refund. We are in a fb group where we know there is still demand for tickets so we asked that if we couldn't have a refund, could we resell the tickets at face value so someone else could go. We have been told no. The reason given is that we have an 8.30 slot and this is quieter for SEND children. That isn't helpful for us when we are unable to get there. I understand they are a business but they could resell those tickets 10 times over. They just don't want to help.
Non-existent customer support and…
Non-existent customer support and booking system is really poor hasn’t solved any issues or can’t get hold of anyone.
Awful, stressful
Very disappointed, waiting for over 4 hours to book tickets, how can you be 45000 in the queue, they sell over 55000 finally get your place and then get told to wait in the queue again. Awful stressful experience thank God I never mentioned it to the grandkids, what a let down.
Worst Father Christmas ruining the surprise, with horrific Customer Service
After saving for 18months, we were so excited to purchase tickets, however, all of the additional costs like booking fee's and insurance soon made a 4 hour day out the same cost as a week's holiday.
We were so disappointed with a few things during our visit, with the most disappointment being with the Father Christmas, the conversation was not personalised at all. At one point he asked if our 2 sons were twins so clearly had not read the ages 6 and 10 or the fact that one of our notes from the portal was that the eldest had just turned 10 the day before. There was barely anything even remotely personalised that was said at all to any of our 3 children. When he did ask one of the children about gymnastics, he was talking to the wrong child.
With 3 children, we have seen many Santa's over the years, and this was honestly the worst we’ve ever seen. The elf that was with us had to keep prompting Santa for everything, it all felt very forced and awkward. Our 6 year old was not even asked what he wanted for Christmas so left really confused and felt that he had done something wrong.
The worst part of all was that at the end of the experience, you are supposed to collect the snow leopards that were made during the day to put under the tree on Christmas day to surprise your children with to keep the magic of Christmas alive, however, our Father Christmas decided to tell the children he was bringing them, completely ruining the surprise.
After such a build up to seeing Santa, it was just a huge let down for what was an extremely expensive trip with 3 children.
Aside from the horrific Santa, There was not enough time in the elf village, by the time we had queued to take 3 children to the toilet, we just about managed the ice skating for 15mins then had to rush around the post office and sweetshop before having to leave to meet Santa. With multiple children things take longer and therefore more time should be provided for larger family groups.
We had a family photograph taken on the walk down to the Santa visit, and on the screen it looked ok, but after purchasing, we’ve realised it’s actually extremely blurry and not what we would have expected.
It was absolutely not a magical experience, and certainly not worth the £675 for 4 hours in November.
As soon as we left Lapland, we tried to contact the customer services team at Lapland to discuss what had happened and to try and stop the same happening to any other families, however they would not provide a telephone number to speak to anyone over the phone, and despite them confirming on email that the "Father Christmas" was new and had made a mistake, they would not provide any kind of refund for our ruined experience. We asked for 25% back which we felt was more than fair, but instead they sent out 3 teddies, and a book which we had already purchased. They honestly couldnt have cared less. If you are considering purchasing tickets, I highly recommend you join some of the lapland complaints groups first. There are further shocking stories in there, where families have lost family members, and still cant be refunded. Absolutely no compassion whatsoever, and it clear that its not about keeping the magic alive at all, just making as much money as they can
A really disappointing experience
A really disappointing experience, overpriced, crowded and badly organised. We tried to resolve issues that had occurred in our booking whilst there but they remained unresolved. Horrible unfriendly Father Christmas who completely ignored one of our children, despite paying for the child and trying our best to resolve this whilst there. Awful customer service offering a letter as compensation of an awful visit after spending hundreds of pounds. We also sent videos as proof of the horrible Father Christmas we experienced, they couldn’t give two hoots.
Avoid and go somewhere else Lapland uk have gone downhill, they are greedy and uncaring.
An amazing day out
An amazing day out! I was concerned I could only get tickets for 5pm and wandered if it was too late but actually the darkness added to the magic with all the fairy lights. Very well organised and attention to detail amazing. Truly magical
Unaccountable and unhelpful when it doesn't go as plan
was unable to attend due to covid restriction and lapland was totally unhelpful, throwing the responsibility on their insurance partner (tickeplan), who of course found a way not to refund despite it being a paying service. Lapland was eventually neither able to postpone nor to refund (or even issue a voucher), they even ironised that it would have been nice to have a solution. Very poor service !
