Our vehicle was hit by a Root driver, the police report shows their driver was at fault, and the body shop shared pictures of damages and Root doesn't want to pay. Beware of this low-class insurance carrier.

Unresolved Question
I had this insurance for only a day, trying to get my account set up for their 30-day test drive. When I called for help, the sales rep didn't really understand my question due to a language barrier, so I asked him to transfer me to someone who could understand and help me. The sales rep quickly put me on hold, and a few seconds later, I was hung up on! Never got my issue resolved! If I can't get help with a simple fix, then what makes me think they would be able to help if I had a major problem!

ROOT was a very useful way of renewing your Auto Insurance because it allowed you to do it on your computer as a multitasking item. I was working on a project, answer emails and was able to accomplish the purchase during lunch time. Sometimes shopping can be a time-consuming ordeal. ROOT was very useful.

ROOT Insurance required a driving test…
ROOT Insurance required a driving test through their app. I received an 8/10 (excellent) score. They sent a notice of cancellation on Dec 23. I called customer service and nobody could explain why I was being cancelled. I obtained new insurance, paid premiums and then was charged $208 on Jan 5 for a full month of insurance by Root. I once again called customer service who said I would be refunded the unused $208 once the policy cancelled in three days (Jan 8). I cancelled effective Jan 5 to avoid paying for two policies at the same time. Root only refunded $115 of the $208 charged claiming they have a non refundable early cancellation fee for cancelling on the 5th and not 8th! Everything this company has done is fraudulent to squeeze money out of people. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
