Overall, my first date with ijl went well despite not resulting in a second date. The gentleman in question fulfilled many of my requirements, but some of our lifestyle priorities were not a good fit.

I signed up for IJL in May 2024. It is now December 2024 and I have only had one match which was in May 2024!!! While the service is marketed as personalized and high-end [~ $4,200], I felt like little effort went into truly understanding my needs. The matchmaker actually thought it was unusual for me to want to travel 2 1/2 hours one-way for a date which may have been futile. My feedback to that matchmaker felt dismissive. I am angry with myself for wasting an exorbitant finance [i am on a fixed income] and emotional trust on an endeavor that only wasted my time and money. Buyer beware. I cannot recommend IJL, not even to my worst enemy.

Professional service with good listeners intent on pairing me with compatible matches. So much better than dating apps!

The dating pool seems small and it'd difficult to tell if the matchmaking process is an actual compatibility check or if it's just an availability check. But I'm hoping to be proven wrong

When I contracted the service for the one I paid 5000 dollars I did it because I was looking something different that I have founded in the date apps, starting for best matches according to your expectations and is not that IJL gave me, in eight months I have only dated two times and I rejected two or three candidates because they were not physically my type also that I have never receive feedback or something that could help me to find a partner absolutely the worst service

At the time I signed up, I was 56, white male, average build, 1" shy of average male height, highly educated, very successful, unwillingly divorced (wife abandoned the only people that loved her for corporate ladder climbing, when we already had more money than we will ever spend).

I had been using dating aps and gone out with many women, some I really liked, but issues of having to filter out the scammers and escorts, then running into flakes, not willing to move, only looking for FWB, or some other reason kept it from moving to the next level. It took SOOO much time. I was spending around 20 hours a week on it.

The sales pitch of much better matches and not having to do the work to find them sounded great!

I gave them my criteria on age range, body type, education, personality, etc. based upon the women I had been meeting and found attractive. The first IJL match was too old and too heavy, so no attraction, but we had corresponding backgrounds so I agreed to meet. She was nice enough, I'd love to have her over for a Christmas party, but no attraction. I gave feedback to IJL, too old, too heavy. After that, they only got worse and I never went out with any other that IJL provided. I was doing MUCH better on the dating aps, even though it took a lot of effort. I tried corrective action by getting pictures from profiles "Look, these are the women I've gone out with from dating sites, I expect at least this level". After more than a year of IJL, there was only ONE woman in my desired age range and she failed other criteria.

I never stopped using the dating aps, and there were a couple from them that were really great. Then a woman who met every one of my criteria, except being a little younger than I preferred, contacted me on bumble and now we are engaged. Beautiful, smart, petite, funny, honest, sweet, loyal, never married, no kids, willing to move. Nothing like anyone IJL had for me.

Don't get your hopes up and throw away your money. Keep trudging through the dating aps until you find the one. IJL isn't going to help you.

When making the sale, they pay attention, but the details are quickly thrown aside once they get your money. Case in point - their photos: in the recruitment process, IJL never advises that their max. # of photos they show you of a prospective date is TWO. My first "prospective date" was ONE HEAD SHOT (which also happened to be out of my profile parameters). I should have seen the future right there. Two is infinity less than photos allowed by Match, by the way. IJL do not mention that their photo processing cuts back the resolution of the submitted photos to the point where they are less clear than the originals - because...they claim they don't know this. Huh? Apparently I'm the first one to notice this...hmmmmm. What makes IJL think that people in their 50s (or anyone) will NOT be zooming into faces to determine the extent of aging (or the beauty) of a prospective date? I have asked about this clarity issue several x & been been ignored or given the brush off. Follow-through on recent date experience which saw me driving nearly 1 hour on a rainy Fri night & my date about 12 min was also non-existent. Emails and phone calls go unanswered as of late. They also work much SLOWER than expected; when they line up a date for you, there is literally no action during the minimum 2 weeks between saying YES to 2 photos, and in my case now 2 weeks post-date, I've not seen a new prospect in over 4 weeks. Several times I've requested that we keep the prospects coming in succession to avoid "dead" time, but they just don't work that swiftly. I'd like to proclaim that it's because IJL are busy making sure the few you see are so much more vetted & thoughtful than Match & Co., but I can't. Very down on this company at present.

Jaiye listened to my interests. While the first date found someone a couple days before our date, it was a waste of one date for me, my time & $$. Jaiye listened to my concerns. He then recommended another person, whom I will be meeting this week.

My matchmaker Bryanna has been fantastic in placing me with some great people and I've really enjoyed the dates I've been on so far.

Your company has arranged for me to meet several, mature, intelligent and kind ladies to meet. Also you take the time to choose women who are around the same age range as myself and have some of the same interests as I do. The only complaint I do have is that I was set up to have a date with woman who lived several hours from where I reside. The distance was a problem, and in the end we could not meet. Than you for your great service and time.

Dislike: Not all of the matches have everything I'm looking for or even basic requirements (e.g., agreement on children). The people arranging the meet-ups don't live locally so sometimes you're both driving across the city or spending an hour in traffic to get to a location.

I have never wasted more money in my life. Everything they say is complete and utter lies. They spend all this time “interviewing” you but do not follow any of your preferences and I’m not even talking about who they match you with. They ask you if you are looking for someone with or without kids, formerly married, in your city outside of your city. They ask what you like to do for a living what kind of person you’re looking for and ideally their interests. This all seems great until you realize this is all smoke and mirrors. Basically this is a dating app in which they just present you randomly with someone who does not meet any of the guidelines you expressed in your interview. When you question why they are presenting this person who is the opposite of what you relayed to them during your interview they don’t have a response. They wait at least 2 days to respond. When you push things up the ladder they just pass it on and pass it on until it gets to the very top. This person then blows off any questions or concerns you have says sorry this is how it is and tells you they won’t be responding to you anymore. So $5k and it’s no better, in fact worse than twitter hinge or name the dating app. At least there you have an actually chance of a date actually being set up. True story, they set up a date with someone for me. I accepted the date, they then sent the date location, get this (and I made it clear in the interview I only wanted to date in my city) the dates location was 2825 miles away from my house. You can’t make this up.

I enjoyed my date. He was funny and humorous. We laughed a lot. He seemed to have some wisdom when we talked about prior relationships. He also was a gentleman. I appreciate the qualities in this man that my matchmaker, David, chose for me.

So far I've only had one date, so there's still a lot of more information to gather, but so far so good. I very much enjoy the restaurant and my date and I had a very Lively and fun conversation. My date and I didn't have very much in common, but we did exchange numbers for a second date. My date was very nice but quite a bit older than me and I'm not sure if he could keep up with me.
