I am not one to write reviews, until I’ve exhausted all options to seek to rectify a situation as I know we are all human.

However, after 4 conversations with different individuals within the company, including the Director of Matchmaking, Mike E, ending with dismissal and no response, I felt you should know what you’re paying for.

After meeting with the consultant, and being rather excited for what I was signing up for, I quickly learned what a scam this is. The sales consultant oversold the platform based on an assumption that I was willing to go over the criteria I set. After rectifying the criteria, I noticed it went months without a match. When I was sent 2 men, I realized I could have had better luck spending the time on a dating apps. Both men did not know how to take a professional picture (one was in his bedroom) and after asking them why they don’t couch the men on their expectations for pictures, they said they do.. When I escalated it further, I was told I wouldn’t have been qualified (29 year old) if they would have known I wasn’t looking for men over 40.

After multiple conversations simply asking for the months back onto my membership that were lost due to the mistake on sales consultant or a refund, they went silent.

I’m disappointed to say I didn’t do as much research as I should have because it’s no wonder they just settled a lawsuit on practices.

I do not recommend.

TRASH is not even close enough to describe this company. You will not hear from them. For over a month I have been sending emails and not gotten a single date. They speak contract but don't provide any services and no refunds. Expensive and waste of your time and money. More frustrating that Walmart customer service on Black Friday. TRASH!!!

My matchmaker, Marina, is professional, friendly and a great listener who wants to do her best to provide ideal matches based on the customer's criteria and desires.

They lied to me. I told them I was from Washington State and they refused to let me find a date in Washington DC. How is this even right? She said they would call me for dates close to home and they never did. It's not right I can't make friends in DC. It's unAmerican. I guess I will have to try another website. It's been two weeks

Great date and met a new friend. Very comfortable and an all in all enjoyable experience. Just the mere chance to make new friendships is definitely worth it. I would highly recommend It’s Just Lunch to everyone.

It's Just Lunch takes the time to carefully read your profile and match you up with people who have like interests, so it's much easier to have a nice time with people you hope to date extensively. Also, they always follow-up to ensure they're doing a good job.

Eva has been a great resource. She's always upbeat and positive. She has answers or suggestions for uncomfortable situations or questions. I'm new to this and am finding the experience to be positive thus far.

Few dates.After a few months, I only got two dates. One lived 100 miles from me! Neither of them were women that I wished to continue to see. Later I was offered a "special" upgraded service with more attention to finding dates for me. For $7500. I accepted but quickly changed my mind. But.....it was too late.I had already consented to the program and signed by internet to accept. Cant get my money back. Even though I had already spent $4300 for the original service! Beware!

I've been a member of IJL off and on for several years, and through them, I've met some great people who I've dated for extended periods. But with Jaiye as my matchmaker, I'm genuinely confident that this time around will be the last time -- and for the right reasons. Jaiye has spent a significant amount of time with me up front, learning what I'm looking for in a romantic partner, and he consistently follows up, truly listening to what went right and what wasn't quite right on every date. And as a guy talking to another guy, it's much easier to be as honest as I need to be in order to get to the match who'll end up being my last first date. His enthusiasm is infectious, which makes it easy to trust his judgment on a match and at least give them a try. And it helps that he and I share common hobbies, so it gives him better insight into whether a match is truly the right fit for me. I'm really happy to have Jaiye in my corner, helping to make sure this experience with IJL is the best one.

Terrible experience. Matchmaker literally is not doing their job. Four months and only one date. There is a strict no refund policy. $5,000 wasted.

Update: The reply from IJL says I have had 5 dates. This is fales. I have just completed my 2nd date. There were 3 other matches so maybe that is what they are counting. But 5 matches and 2 dates in 4.5 months is not acceptable. At that pace it would take 4.5 years to complete my 1 year / 24 date membership.

My matchmaker at first was empathetic about my concerns of cost because I had to pay 4 figures up front. Later after a slee of almost entirely first dates, she proposed I pay for the dates entirely to get more of their socalled "high quality women" to get more second dates, after the only criticism I could get from their dating coach was edits to my dating apps. So everything is about money with them. Not to mention just because you're paying a match maker, doesn't mean the women aren't following a delusional princess fairytale mentality with unrealistic expectations. Since every single person of staff was female, the whole operation seems biased towards women based off my experience. For 4 figures every 6 months, all I got was more first dates that led to nowhere, and a second date that was a 1 night stand. You're better off spending this money on dating apps.

My match maker was great she listened and was helpful. The problem is ladies this service will trick you out of thousands with very few quality matches. The guy they matched me with was a total joke showed up almost an hour later. He arrived with a back pack. I stayed since I was there to actually have lunch. He called me a month later to ask for a 2nd date I politely declined. Don’t use this company unless you want to be disappointed. They don’t offer refunds either.

Don't do this! If you want personalized matchmaking, find a different service. This is not personalized - it's a database of people willing to pay the high fees and then every 4 weeks, they'll send you someone also due for a date. They claim to be very selective, but as long as you can pay the initial fee, you're in. Every profile will sound like prince charming, yet profiles are what many aspire to be, not who they actually are and what they actually like to do.

I questioned on more than 1 occasion if this was a reality TV show to see how far a guy can push a woman with outrageous comments before they reveal the cameras.

This is expensive and I was hopeful to meet quality guys and in nearly 2 years, there was 2 men I was excited to go out with again. Neither followed up despite their supposed interest in meeting again.

There is also no real thought to where they send you. Some of the locations are loud sports bars where you can barely hear each other. Another one sent me to a Benihanas, where the 6 other strangers at the table chuckled as we clearly introduced ourselves awkwardly.

There are plenty of other matchmaking services out there. Go with one that is local or has proven results.

I signed up for it’s just lunch in 2023. Since then, I’ve only been on 4 dates, only 2 of which wound up with an actual date (one was a now show and one decided not to proceed). The matchmakers have “found” dates for me, but somehow each one mysteriously “goes in a different direction”. I feel like this is a procrastination tactic. I have not heard from my match maker since 08/01/2025!!! Almost 4 months! I asked for my money back, but unfortunately I am at their mercy. Don’t waste your money or your time.
