Hi I must be doing something wrong I applied with tax advocate in 2022 I lost my job got divorced etc that year ! I owed $8500 in back taxes was not working at the time during this. I was given a case number I applied for hardship because I had no income coming in. Was single mom three kids and my tax advocate would not get back with me. I called him and his manger numerous times left messages got no responses he asked me to fill out a form and write letter about my hardship that was last time we spoke he was based out of the Austin Tx offices ! I would call 2 to 3 times a week over a year the call center would see all the notes and saw he wasn’t responding to their emails as well they even requested to have my case moved over to the Houston office and he would not let my case go they said and I finally gave up I can only call for over year and I got no information back even call reps were speechless on lack of help I got . Also was sent letter by him advised me not to worry that they would not take my refund of $6500 that year at the time I told him I needed that refund money cause my car was about get repo and I was past due on my mortgage they said we they’re gonna hold my refund and it would not off set my balance well the IRS took it My advocate said that he wasn’t sure why they took it and here we are 2025 and I still have not gotten help so now my balance is $3500 and they’re telling me I have to start a whole new case but yet I see stories where people owe so much more money than me I owe that small amount that’s collecting interest they won’t work with me and I’m afraid to file my 2023- 2024 taxes because I desperately need my refund and I was laid off from my job this past October so I am not working and I don’t have the money or the means to pay off this and I desperately need my refund if there’s any help or suggestions out there, please let me know I desperately need it!

Short story, they failed to mail me my IP pin. So I can’t claim my taxes. I can’t even log in because the stupid system of ID.me gives me the same thing. Your request can’t be processed. I’ve been emailing id.me support for the last 4 damn years. No one has replied. Honestly at this point f u IRS.

Every single year they make me verify my identity I'm at the same address I have the same birthday same social the same verification practices that I've had for years and here they did it again this year that you know why because they just want to sit and hold on to my money and not pay me I'm disabled I'm old and I can't even get my income tax check it's sick

They sent a letter requesting more information which took THREE weeks to reach me then once I sent them the information they needed they said it will take another 60 DAYS just to process the documents. Lmao! Crazy !!!

THE WORST SERVICE IN THE WORLD. THE MOST DISGUSTING NASTY SERVICE OUT THERE. THEY ARE A SCAM. THEY WONT EVEN LET ME LOG IN TO MY ACCOUNT TO SEE MY W2. This is insane.

In 2025 I was still waiting for my 2020 and 2021 income tax refunds. H & R Block had the wrong address down within my IRS online account. I corrected it then one day it changed to the wrong address again. Now it's February 2025 and my taxes are still missing $5601 just gone like it never was filed. I am disabled so I never received any stimulus payments or anything. I don't make enough to file taxes anymore so I just get robbed by the IRS and it's legal. Seems like a one sided political government entity which lacks the morals to stand up for what it requires by a tax payer.
On 2/11/2025 I received a income tax check for 2021 for $3,373.37. Still waiting for 2020.

It’s funny how simple forms take a week or weeks after they start accepting returns, and worst part is the morons at the IRS somehow find a way to even delay that by a week or two. They are incompetent with simple tasks.

As much as I disagree with this institution and how my own money gets handled, as of late they have been sincere and kind and helpful through my struggles with Tax fraud committed against me by employers I trusted that were in fact committing fraud against me.

I shared my new number with an IRS rep just yesterday. I have been receiving spam calls non stop since then.

As a business.....the IRS is the most incompitant people working in the government. As of last month the IRS sent a letter after 11 years and the business is shut down for past 8 years saying they didnt have a 943 form but they show all the payments were up to date and that I had to fix the problem. Even thou these forms were sent certified mail, once they get to the building, onto a desk for some ungodly reason they get lost, shredded or they just dont get put into the computer system. People working at theses offices cant even speak english and the people are the most incompitant, uneducated, non working, unorganized people in the united states. They way I see it as of today, Biden and the Government is trying to scam the american people out of more money as they are broke and sent all our money to communist governmnents, sex rings, drug cartels and human trafficking for the Biden Harris pelosi clinton, obama corruption. Get you head out of you asses!!!!! 11 years is past the years to keep taxes by federal law. I should sue you people with President trump behind me.

They held my 2019 refund even after I identified myself. Now say they don't have to pay it. Then they held my 2022 and 2023 and won't pay refund. This is embezzlement! We should all sue them!

It’s a system that breaks trust, disrespects taxpayers, and cements their reputation as little more than ruthless enforcers of a fundamentally flawed economic order. Shameful.

I have called the Internal Revenue Service number twice. Each time I would stay on hold for 45 minutes and then they would hang up.

Back taxes from 2022
I got a notice in the mail stating I owed taxes from 2022 that is owed. I called to find out what I owe and how to pay it. I get no answer by a live person. It's annoying especially when paying your taxes is vital. Then to add insult to injury you have to make appointment to pay your taxes and see someone at the federal building to pay in person. What type of bull is this? It took me no time to pay my state taxes, and it has a website easy to navigate. With the Trillion dollars of taxes the U.S citizens pay you can do way better than this. It's not like you don't have the money you just don't want to pay.

Called the site that offers help with forms 8821 and 2808. The operator was almost impossible to understand due to her accent and lack of command of the English language. Also, she couldn't answer any questions regarding the completion of form 8821. My question was should I check box 4 if I wanted to keep a POA in effect. She said she would have to view the form before answering my question. With that, she disconnected the call. To connect with this person took over an hour only to be hung up on, then not called back. Plus, I had none of my questions answered. A complete and total waste of time due to lack of training, incompetence, and inability to speak clearly.

I put the amount on ss yearly income but taxable amount was right. The Idiot that checked for errors added those two #s and also where you put withdrawal from your 401k amount and taxable amount added them both together so it almost doubled my taxable income and they took 90% of my return I sent in the form to correct the info and they just threw it away so system so they could keep my money.

We owe the IRS ALOT due to the incompetence of a previous tax accountant and the mistakes she made, along with the IRS. They think there was "fraud" on our account, of which there wasn't. They want us to prove who we are, even though we've lived in the same place, and have submitted our IDs, etc. But they won't talk to us! And now we are getting the "we're going to take your house" letters, by certified mail. We have TRIED to pay them, TRIED to set up a payment plan, but these half wits can't even answer the phone. And when they do, they transfer you to another person, but actually they disconnect the call. I seriously spent 8 HOURS on the phone one day trying to get help. I finally was able to make an appointment, spoke to someone in person, and they said "the IRS will be in contact with you within 4 weeks to set up your payment plan". No contact, no calls, no payment plans. Yet the "we're going to levy your property" letters keep coming. I don't think I have a choice now other than to PAY for a tax attorney. This system needs to be OVERHAULED!!!
