- Customer service incredibly unhelpful and skirt around questions. You only get vague answers or pointed to a place you already looked
- They told me I would get money back for a surgery and then they denied it later even though I had everything I needed
- Overall bad experience and not worth the money

A disgrace. locked out of my account, call customer service 3 times, waited 20 - 30 minutes each time and they dropped my call twice. I explained this on the 3rd call asking politely that if it happened again, could they call me back, to which I was told, no. A really shocking service for the thousands of euro paid annually.

Everything about this organisation is poor. Save yourself future problems by using alternative service providers. For financial services try Zurich or Allianz. And for health insurance use VHI or Laya you’ll save yourself time and stress by doing so.

This is the worst service I have ever experienced. Changing my phone number took 2-3 weeks, during which I couldn't log in to my account. I made 100 phone calls, constantly being transferred from one department to another. Now that I can finally log in, I get a backend error when trying to update my information. Additionally, every time I attempt to upload claims, I receive a "session failed" error. NOTHING WORKS on this site! Avoid at all costs!

100% stay away from this company. Just look at the amount of negative reviews. We had an awful experience. We were put in touch with Irish Life through EBS when going for our mortgage. We had a zoom meeting and while it was very informative the person we were dealing with Tim insisted on taking our bank details and assured us nothing would be activated until we had a draw down date. Well guess what?? He took our money and activated without our consent, claiming EBS was responsible for making a mistake and telling him to activate it. If there was an internal clerical error or miscommunication it had nothing to do with us the customer yet we were made to feel like we had some sort of blame in this. To make matters worse, when we went to activate our policy, he increased it by 18.5%. What sort of company does this? How can you justify an increase of that amount? He told us we either take the huge increase or we pay for months of insurance dating back to the mistake….for an account we never activated. It really felt like this person was punishing us and it was nasty. You’d think if they made a mistake they would apologise, but they actually charged us the customer for it. Awful experience. I must say that we received a follow up call from Dublin which was really positive. Morris listened to our experience which was very helpful. Nevertheless, it doesn’t change the fact that we agreed a price and they went back on the agreement at drawdown. We were cheated. Just read the other reviews….80% negativity…its companies like Irish Life that give the insurance industry a poor reputation. We all just need to keep sharing our experience to warn others. Just feel like we were taken for a ride. I would not recommend Irish Life to anybody.

Wish I'd read reviews before taking Broker's word that this was the company to go with for Company Pension. Disastrous. No communication for weeks. They just don't answer emails and it's impossible to get through on phone. Thought when we got a 'relationship' manager that would improve communication. Wouldn't recommend at all. So disappointed as I have health Insurance and personal life plans with them and they have all been fine.

I’m willing to bet that any good review is wrote by the company itself, 78 1 star reviews shows how bad the paying customers are treated, swap your policy over to a reputable company that will give you help, advice and deal with you directly, stop paying your good hard earned money into this shambles of a company,

I'm with them 6 six years , paying thousands on supposedly one of their best plans! Made my first claim and what a nighmare to deal with ! Declined ! Separately I've been referred to consultants who will deal with all Health Insurance Companies EXCEPT IRISH LIFE ! Stay away!

I signed up with Irish life health . Subsequently found out……not actually told on initial sign up that I needed confirmation of cover from previous health provider. Fair enough, but this is my first change. Got that, posted it and then checked with them re. Procedure cover to be informed that my cover had ended in 2019. Letter definitely stated 2024. I had the original email. They wouldn’t have it so I sent the pdf of cover requesting a phone call to confirm they had received it. Didn’t get it.i was in the process of booking a medical procedure which is difficult enough. When I rang they suggested using ‘Here to help’ a painful process as the fields are not well set and do not show ALL consultants or ALL hospitals. I spent ages trying to input my doctor and hospital. Talking to any of the staff is like dealing with the prosecution service in a courtroom. Quoting various tracts af legalities. Do they realise they’re dealing with humans who may have an illness and are trying to check cover. The last advice was to check with the consultant that it was medically necessary to have the procedure. That was the final straw. My doctor recommended I have this procedure but Irish life health are unsure. Seriously! Wish I’d stayed with previous provider but I will be moving again ASAP.

Charged me for multiple policies and you can't check the charges with them directly but only with employer, a refund for expenses is not done promptly and is often rejected. Would not recommend it. Also, if you have insurance with the employer it's a taxable benefit - so you still have to pay 52%. Overall, I can not recommend the insurance.

Terrible customer service. ILH cancelled my policy before the renewal date, even though it is fully paid up. I can only assume it's because I declined to renew with them. Could not get an intelligent reply while trying to sort out the issue. You know a company is poor when you have to contact the ombudsman's office for assistance.

Irish life health is not worth the time spent. Their register with a gp service is non existent... you'll be given a list of doctors in the county and told to contact them yourself. Digital doctor, you'll be lucky to get an appointment within 72 hours. Ridiculously bad service all round.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. An absolutely appalling crowd to try to deal with. I should have health insurance that my employer paid for, I rang up for information and they cancelled my policy instead! I've been ringing, emailing and using online chat function to be endlessly lied to that about callbacks & fixes that never happen. The stress of it is incredible. After over a month now with no health insurance, rang AGAIN today to be told nothing on my account about this, despite them ringing me a couple of days ago to tell me it would be resolved by end of the day & they'd call me, guess what, it wasn't and they didn't....STEER WELL CLEAR, never had any issues with any of the other health providers

Avoid at all costs. After an audit, three complaints and three months waiting to be reimbursed, nothing has changed. Ridiculous.

They updated their application more than year ago but you still need to login twice to access your account on their irish life mobile app. You are first presented with the old login page. You enter details, press login the new login page appears where u need to re enter the details then press login again

I am sorry to say this but this company is the worst pension provider for a company. They make mistakes in their accounts, do not provide any breakdown of how they allocate amounts. They made mistakes by allocating the wrong amounts to the wrong employees. As an employer, DO NOT consider them as your pension providers. They are unable to rectify any errors that they made and expect people to have Direct Debits set up with them. They threaten you to cancel any business with you if you do not have a direct debit set up with them. Despite that they can not even prove what they are debiting from your account. A scam company. Be aware of them!!!!
