DO NOT give Instant.one access to your Klaviyo account
We attempted to adopt Instant.one’s “Instant Audiences” feature, which was positioned as a way to boost our abandoned cart flows in Klaviyo by capturing more customers and improving revenue.
Unfortunately, before the technology was even launched, Instant.one made edits inside our Klaviyo account that disrupted our existing abandoned cart flows and prevented many sends from going out. This happened during one of the biggest sales periods in our company’s 25+ year history, so the revenue impact was severe. Based on the timing and missed sends, this cost our business tens of thousands of dollars in just a few days.
From what we could tell, Instant.one cloned our existing flows, updated filters, and created additional abandonment flows intended to capture traffic that no longer qualified under the original filters. In theory, the traffic drop in our original flows should have appeared in the new cloned flows. However, it appeared those new flows were never turned on. So instead of improving performance, the setup prevented customers from receiving key abandoned cart emails during a critical revenue window.
Even if the flows had gone live the following day, making those changes the night before a major sales period still would have left money on the table, especially since we have many overnight shoppers. That does not feel like a safe or responsible implementation process.
The most concerning part is that when a meeting was postponed, no one from Instant.one went back into the account to correct the edits or ensure the flows were functioning properly. To us, that showed a level of recklessness and lack of professionalism that made us feel completely unsafe granting them access to our Klaviyo account again.
Before we even got the chance to use their technology, our company lost a significant amount of money simply by engaging with their brand. That is just about the worst possible outcome when adopting a new platform.
We ultimately chose not to move forward with Instant.one, and based on our experience, I would strongly caution other businesses: do not give them access to your Klaviyo account—it's not worth it!
