A lot of our issues in 2025 stemmed from relying too much on AI for output quality. It was a mistake that we didn’t think we needed humans in the loop. We now work with real human creators and added human review in each step of the creative process.

Extremely buggy and low quality
Glitchy, buggy, incredibly annoying how it will close you out of your ad mid-edit for no reason at all.
Additionally, 1/2 responses were either GTP hallucinations or just didn't output anything at all .
I have not been this frustrated with a piece of software since download a microsoft family license through a VPN with a forgotten password.
Static ad generation MIGHT BE useful, but can't work for video .
Would be so incredible if the team took one of the seven weekdays to make useable features or debug.

Lou, we are so sorry for the terribly frustrating experience.
To be honest, the AI models we relied on in 2025 fell short in output quality. On top of that, the platform itself was glitchy and we did not iron out all the bugs like we should have.
We've since stopped focusing on AI ads. We now work with real human creators and with humans to review the output for every brief. We've also heavily invested in platform stability - the bugs and hallucinations you mentioned are now gone.

another overhyped tool it seems
In my first week of trial and quite dissapointed from the performance. I get the tool is new and they are working on improvements, but then,do not charge such a price for something that is sub-par. Do it like everyone else, start with a low price, get customer feedback and build a loyal base, and keep building from there.
If the goal is a quick exit, then this makes sense. And thats ok, i am just not going to be part of this as a customer.
On the tool-I have only used the image features, the tool keeps mixing up data you input and comes up with outputs that are not really usable for ads.
They claim support is 24/7/365 but i keep getting slow responses (we cannot spend all day online waiting for support).
Pricing is ridiculously high (in line with the hype they have made, since they have so much funds to spend on advertising).
Overall a sub-par performance , from yet another overhyped tool..

We didn’t deliver in ad quality because we relied too much on AI. We should have recognized this much earlier. We’ve since shifted away from AI tools to a human-led model - we work with human creators and incorporate human review throughout the creative process.

Deceptive promises and terrible support. I signed up as a Founding Partner, lured by flashy promises of “direct access to support,” “unlimited brand workspaces,” and a “100% money-back guarantee.” In reality? I got a bait-and-switch disaster.
From the second I joined, the onboarding process forced me to create initial ads I wasn't prepared to create (and didn't want to create upon sign-up) and instantly burned through my monthly downloads - with no ability to bypass the screen and come back later, taking my time to create the ads I wanted. All I wanted to do was make a purchase, print a receipt, and go away, taking my time to go through everything at another time. But I literally could NOT do that. I was stuck creating ads on the spot and had to choose from limited, generic options, with no creative control in the process.
I reached out to support multiple times for help and despite the supposed VIP access as a Founding Partner, I received slow, unhelpful, and dismissive responses. The whole system was clunky, difficult to navigate, and far from what was promised. Everything was designed to upsell you to a higher plan.
The final straw? I asked to cancel and got double-billed instead for one year of membership. I spent an entire week chasing down refunds, trying to get clear answers, and navigating the mess they created. Hours of wasted time.
Sadly, none of their promises lived up to the reality. The entire platform is geared towards pushing you into a done-for-you service at $1,500 per month. The do-it-yourself platform is not ready for prime time. It’s overhyped, overpromised, and underdelivers in every way that matters. So, if you value your time, money & energy, stay far, far away. I opted to design my ads on Canva using their templates and bought Adsby instead. It was a way better route to go to accomplish the same thing.

We created way too much friction in onboarding. You should not have gone through forced actions just to complete signup or access your receipt. The double charges and refund delays were also embarrassing oversights on our end. This is not the experience we want anyone to have and we really dropped the ball on our support flow here.
Moreover, we underdelivered in ad quality because we relied too much on AI. We’ve since made significant changes - we now work with real human creators and incorporate human review throughout the creative process.

To be blunt, the AI tools fell short in output quality and did not meet the quality standards we promised. We’ve shifted to a model where real humans are involved throughout the entire creative process. Ad quality has drastically improved ever since.

nothing works well, and they are just out to get your money
I started using the service, was given 3 free days to try it. Ran a couple of tries and nothing worked well.
Then cancelled on the first day and they charged me 199usd for that.
Do not trust them or use them, it is a terrible service.

Honestly, our billing software was not registering cancellations in time. We've fixed the bug so cancellations register immediately and charges require explicit confirmation.

Impossible to cancel!
The ads are very low quality, totally irrelevant to the data you input and I have been trying to cancel the subscription now for over a week and it is IMPOSSIBLE.
I will not pay for a sub par service so I have emptied my account - they have no way to cancel and try upwards of 4 times a day to take payment.
Do not use Icon!

Bella, I am so sorry we put you through this. Having to empty your bank account to stop our charges is completely unacceptable.
Our billing and cancellation flows clearly failed to work the way it should have. We've since built self-serve cancellation into the dashboard so that this doesn’t happen for anyone again.
Our tools also relied too much on AI alone, it was our mistake not to add a human in the loop. We've since started working with real human creators and incorporated human review throughout the creative process.

bad AI, can't produce a single good ad. Can't click away from 'join Slack' and 'cancel subscription'. then they tried to charge me 200 USD when I never agreed to pay anything more than the 39 USD per month, and I was still in free trial. scam

Not worth the money
Not worth the money. I signed up, tried the platform, it didn't produce any great ads. You can clearly tell it's bad looking ai, and the pop-up forcing you join their slack channel (which you can NOT click away from) is so annoying. I literally had to join their Slack channel just to cancel our subscription — and then you're met with a 6+ step cancellation flow trying everything to not get you to unsub.
Please do better than that guys... I wouldn't have given a bad review if it weren't for those things.
I think the platform and the vision have amazing potential, but it's not worth it at this stage.

To be honest, we depended too much on AI for output quality but the models were not ready. We should have realized this earlier. We’ve since moved to a human-led creative process and our output quality has improved significantly.
The bugs and pop-ups were embarrassing oversights on our end. We shipped features before our platform was fully ready. We’ve since replaced the cancellation flow with a one-click cancellation and removed any buggy pop-ups.

This product is trash
This product is trash. When I signed up, it produced a few terrible ads, and then when I clicked "I didn't like any of the ads," I got a pop-up asking me to join the Slack channel. When I clicked "I don't have Slack," I kept getting a pop-up at the bottom right corner saying "override request sent," and then nothing happened. I refreshed multiple times and tried different browsers, but nothing worked. It was a total waste of time. You have a looooong way to go guys. Get your Sh*t together and then go out asking for subs.
* No, I am not a competitor writing a fake review (I noticed that this is how you replied to previous bad reviews), I am just another user who wasted 1 hour for nothing.

Icon can be great if you guys change this.
I liked playing around with Icon— but it doesn’t feel like a normal tool with how pushy their popups feel.
As a new user, I felt like I was being forced to take actions against my own will (for example I got a pop up saying “you have to download at least one ad”) which is seriously irritating as a first time user who simply wants to play around for a couple minutes to see how it fits with your marketing needs. The onboarding flow also took ages, and there was no option to skip.
Same with all the other random pop-ups I was getting thrown on my screen - had to schedule a Calendly Zoom meeting with one of the team members just to freaking use the tool.
Honestly, it’s a shame - Icon is probably such a great tool, but if you guys fix this approach, it would be a much better experience.

This is now fixed. We’ve simplified the onboarding flow and removed any popups + required downloads. You can now sign up and explore the tools without running into any blockers or hurdles.

Snake oil. Bait and switch. They tried hard I think but they spent more time making saas onboarding automation to upsell/cross sell than on the product functionality. I know they are trying but just premature and its made to look much further along than it is.

Surprisingly polished and powerful…
Surprisingly polished and powerful video creator for us. From all the AI craze, I've been burned by flashy video ad tools, which made me a bit skeptical. But icon.me met and exceeded expectations. The platform is surprisingly stable and fast. I've created several video variations with zero crashes or rendering issues.
I imagine UGC creation will become commoditized over time so the additional features is what sets icon.me apart. They have things like ad cloning, where in a single-click you can clone a competitors video ad, and AdGPT (their product inside) will create something similar, but with our own company assets and branding.
For sure there is a learning curve but it's not much more than just using chatGPT or Grok, for example. TLDR; icon.me does everything it said it would do. Customer support is top notch. It's a key part of our marketing stack.

Icon.com ToS are predatory
Icon.com ToS are predatory, which prevented me from signing up to the platform.
Do hope they amend things, as it is, completely unusable; TLDR of my understanding: terms are extremely poorly written, there are references to things that don't exist.
In short it gives all rights to Icon, including your material, barely any to you.
The refund part they claim prominently in pricing is in no terms explained, in fact it pretty much says they will void it if you decide to cancel... which is the whole point?

Thanks for flagging this Fab. Honestly, our legal and billing language was a mess. It was written during a period where the product was changing quickly and we didn’t prioritize making the terms as clear as they should have been.
To be clear: you own your creative assets and output. It was never our intention to take ownership. We’ve rewritten those terms to be much simpler and more transparent so there's no room for confusion.

Total mess
The platform is unstable, buggy, and feels half-finished. I had constant issues editing videos, features that don't work as advertised and no real support. Cancelled my account immediately. What a waste of time and money!

The app doesn’t produce great video.
I feel like the company is trying to do everything related to ad creative, but doing nothing well. They go wide, but not deep.
I bought this for video, and haven’t been able to use a single ad from it yet.
That being said, I do think the team is great. Their communication has been good, and I can see they’re trying to build and improve things. I get updates almost every day via our custom slack channel, and am able to communicate with them directly. Hoping they can improve things. They have the team to do it.

Complete waste of time
This software is all hype, no substance. The AI takes forever to generate unusable junk, and at the end of the broken flow, they hit you with a big $$$/month paywall. Feels like they’re just stealing user data to train their model!?
If you pay, it gets worse: constant errors, missing features, zero support. The developers take your money and vanish while deleting negative reviews. This is a VC-funded cash grab fueled by fake hype and paid influencers. Don’t fall for it—avoid at all costs!
