Awful customer service
Awful customer service, in my first order I was sent the completely wrong meals. Then the other meal was significantly not as advertised, the image showed Hong Kong noodles clearly with a side of vegetables as you would expect for a healthy meal delivery. I was informed that was for ‘photographic’ purposes and it is just sauce, chicken and noodles. I was thanked for my feedback but informed I would not receive a refund even though it was significantly not as shown. Totally would not recommend, much better options out there such as frive with amazing customer service!

So tasty and you can see it's not processed
I'm writing to further review homecooks products. This time, I tried the new range available on GoPuff, which is how I learned of the brand.
My latest meal is the Chicken Shawarma, with pickled slaw and rice.
There's so much meat! They use chicken thighs which are by far the tastiest part of a bird. I can't eat a lot at once but I made three small meals out of one portion!
I really recommend this company's food, and I don't often bother to comment. But this is worthy of a positive review.

Mutton dressed as Lamb
I thought I'd give this a go, saw the options available via GoPuff. Absolutely disgusting. I thought it might be nice and homemade but so bad it out me in a bad mood. I really hate a brand that tells you it's homemade and has obviously come from a shitty factory using shitty ingredients. Fake flavours across all 3 dishes I got. The porcini one made me imagine what Oliver Twist must have endured during hard times. Sloppy, loveless and another company trying to say they are different without doing too much to back it up. I want proof that your meals are made by independent chefs, because the whole thing screams factory produced.

Thank you for the honest feedback. and you're right to call out the factory production.
Let me be straight with you: the meals you got through GoPuff are produced in a commercial facility following recipes from our partner chefs. The chefs themselves don't produce retail products because they don't have the logistics infrastructure or accreditations required for supermarket/third-party retail distribution. So yes, factory-produced – but using their recipes and specifications.
Here's the difference: our website meals are made by independent chefs in their own kitchens across 60+ locations. These are the genuinely homemade products we started with, prepared fresh and delivered directly. The retail channel (like GoPuff) was an expansion into a different model with different constraints.
I'd like to make this right:
Get in touch with us directly at support@homecooks.app and I'll sort you out with some website meals so you can try what we actually mean by "homemade by independent chefs.
Fair criticism deserved a straight answer.

Poor customer service
I placed an order with an expected delivery date of the 30th. I emailed a simple question about the order, and today I was told it had been cancelled, supposedly at my request. I never asked for the order to be cancelled. This is extremely poor customer service. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.
Update: Odd that considering I have only just moved to this address!!!

I thought I would try it out, but I would recommend to people to buy a bag of rice and some veg and save yourself about 60/55 quid.
I put a kindhearted review, as I know it's hard to run a business. but due to their response. I have changed it to one star.

I just had my first meal from their…
I just had my first meal from their delivery. It was delicious. I enjoyed the flavour and quantity, I’m hoping all the meals bang as hard as the rendang does. I found the selection on the site good,
Only notes: the packaging said microwave for 7 minutes; the website says 5. Confusing.

For now, follow the packaging instruction as that's been tested with your meal. Microwaves do vary, so adjust as needed.

Flavour ok but quantity and consistency…
Flavour ok but quantity and consistency not at all… once warm look like dog food, there is probably the quantity of 2 chicken wings of meat inside and with that sort of mash polenta not filling at all, it’s definitely too expensive 5.95£ a dish home cook you would be filled, I’ve purchased through Go Puff service. Customer Service it’s careful to clients need I’m pretty sure they will correct the quantity appropriately.

10/10! Can’t wait to order again
Honestly, WOW! we’ve tried three flavours so far and the only complaint I’ve got is why is there MORE haha! The portions are a fantastic size, the food is some of the tastiest food I have ever eaten! Both myself and my partner have always been a bit fussy with vegetables, but these are cooked incredibly that we even demolished all of them too! 10/10 cannot recommend enough

Brilliant alternative to Cooking at Home
Having been a subscription customer for nearly two years I am happy to say that I have been more than happy with the meals and the service I have received when things go wrong has been exceptional.
The meals vary from almost home cooked (smaller chef businesses or street food type businesses) to somewhat processed food (larger kitchens and SME businesses). However I am happy that overall even as processed food it is better quality than cheap supermarket ready meals. I hope this will continue as the busy grows and develops.
The meals are reasonably priced for this type of convenience food and it can get cheaper if you subscribe or collect loyalty points. At its highest price it is comparable to more commercial producers like Charley Bigham.

The perfect mid-week healthy meal alternative
I love HomeCooks as it helps me providing a healthy alternative for a mid-week meal for the family when I don’t have time to cook. We have several favourites now such as the Rendang or the Satay but I always like to try new dishes. The insulated packaging is quite robust and eco friendly too.
