Horrible care!…
The care my mother has received at this practice has been very disappointing. She has Stage 3 chronic kidney disease and was never clearly informed of this diagnosis. When her previous doctor retired, she casually mentioned, “I don’t know if you know this, but we are watching your kidneys,” which was the first time my mother realized the seriousness of the issue.
Since getting a new doctor, the level of care and communication has been extremely poor—from the nurses to the physician. Recently, my mother had very low blood pressure and called the office. A nurse told her she would speak with the doctor and call her back, but no one ever did. The next day she called again and was given advice by another nurse, but shortly after her blood pressure became very high. She called again and was told her message would be marked as a priority, yet she still never received a return call. The following day she called again and was once again told it would be marked as a priority, but no one followed up.
Because of the lack of response, my mother ended up going to urgent care and received better attention there than she has at this practice.
When she was finally seen at the office the next day, we expected she would be referred to a nephrologist or renal dietitian due to her Stage 3 kidney disease, but no referrals were made. Even more concerning, the doctor told her that when she saw how low her blood pressure was, she “didn’t know what to do.”
At this point, we no longer have confidence in this practice. Patients should feel like their health concerns are taken seriously and that they are a priority. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience.
