I started working with Santou around Grief, but have now progressed onto other topics of concern.
I started working with Santou around grief for three loved ones who died in succession, before I had a chance to process any of their deaths. I wanted to work with someone who I could access for as long as I needed, rather than prescribed by a work place scheme.
I have found her consistent non-judgemental support has allowed me to access parts of myself that I previously would not have shared with a counsellor based on my trust for her. I find her knowledge and understanding, not just of grief but of wider issues to be very enlightening. She is able to push me gently and then back off until I am ready to bring up that issue again. Much of my history seems very matter of fact to me, whereas her observations draw more compassion and kindness to previous versions of myself that gives me a new perspective on myself to understand more fully how I may be affected.
I recommend at least talking to Santou. She offers an intake session with no obligation where you can ask your questions and establish for yourself if you feel you have a connection. This is not something I had previously been offered, and I found it positive because you can both assess if you believe you will be productive in sessions.
