No care for animals, all about profit
Came yesterday with my bird after calling ahead to ensure they had a qualified bird specialist for a sick quail.
The vet did seem to thoroughly look over her but then began pushing X-rays and bloods. My gut instinct told me to get a second opinion just as i was surprised he had absolutely no inclination what it could possibly be or even may be. I was sent home with tablets PREDNIDAZOLE - advised to give one a day and to book in for X-rays and bloods (£400+)
Went home and booked into a bird specialist vet that I found. Within 30 seconds of walking in this morning the bird specialist confirmed that she had a severe infection in her abdomen and explained exactly what it was and that she needed to be put to sleep. When I showed her the PREDNIDAZOLE she was visually shocked as she said it is absolutely not a medication to be prescribed for birds so she was shocked an alleged vet prescribed it.
Overall seemed that they wanted to make the £400 (potentially more) over caring for a bird - Im not sure what’s worse, if they didn’t know what was wrong or if they did and he was intentionally dragging it out to make profit. Either way I’m glad I listened to my gut as I’m unsure how long they would have kept up the narrative for causing pain on an animal for their profit.
So £78 later at this vet’s - to be given incorrect information and meds that shouldn’t have been given - and I’ve now had to pay elsewhere for a second opinion and euthanasia.
If you care for your pets at all avoid.
I also have a feeling the most recent reviews aren’t genuine - seem very suspicious based of my experience. As they don’t accurately describe this place as they clearly only care about profit over animal welfare.
