The best online transcription service I've found
I'd given up on online transcriptions for translated focus group discussions (in good, but usually accented English) but Good Tape works really well- catching place names and common names and catching changing topics and speakers, even when there's only a single voice. Good customer service too. Hooray!

Absolutely awesome - we actually like to pride ourselves a little on our ability to understand accented English (especially since we're Danish speakers ourselves) - so to hear a direct testimony from one of users is simply great :)
As for catching place names and the like - that's the beauty of AI. Through using context gathered by our AI, it can make accurate and calculated assumptions on what certain names etc. may be - whereby a traditional automatic transcription service would get confused.

There is a simple solution however!
Just log out, restart your device, log back in, and reupload your recording. We ensure you that it'll work fine :)

Bad site do not use!! Paid version is a scam!
Bad site do not use! The free transcribtion is okay but the paid version is really a scam. For 18€ I got only 20h of transcribing for an entire month, while the site says premium plan etc...
Came to find out that they are a site that work their way into misleading people with the small details of an agreement. Do not use!!!! You will be dissapointed with the paid version!

We're really sorry you feel this way - but we do state on our site that we limit our users to 20 hours per month.
As much as we wish we could offer unlimited transcription hours for all our users, it'd simply be impossible with the insane costs of AI transcription.
We've already placed ourselves as the cheapest AI transcription model on the market because we aim to be a service that is available to all. Coming from Zetland, a Danish investigative media outlet, we know first hand how annoying it is to manually transcribe; which is why we've ensured that Good Tape is affordable (and therefore accessible) as possible. If Good Tape offered transcription on an unlimited basis, our service would immediately be inaccessible to 95% of our users due to the huge prices we'd have to implement.

The transcription is amazing but the moment you start editing the faults that they made, things start to get really annoying. For some reason it saves the edits in the app but when exported to a text 90% of all the edits are gone. Thought I could save some time on my thesis with this but truly disappointed in the double work I have to do now after paying for their service

Very precise even with uncommon accents
Cheaper than competitors like Otter.ai, offers a cleaner and highly precise transcription (which means you save a lot of time), and it's capable of handling more difficult accents. Really not sure what this 1-star-review concerning bad performance was about (probably a fake?).
I'm using it for academic work.

I am actually quite shocked by the accuracy of this transcription service. It tends to capture every word even if the speaker is non-native. Thumbs up to the makers. The waiting time has increased significantly for free users though. I hope they are able to increase capacity of their system and also introduce packages for users that need only few transcriptions per month.

Very very very poor performance even for paid subscriptions
the accuracy of the transcriptions are outstanding so the other shortcommings are really a pitty.
But the stability of the app is hillarious.
Though I have PAID for the PREMIUM version of the product, I now more often experience problems with lost data/tapes/transcriptions, no access to the app, security issues or too slow process times than I do experience a normal and acceptable processesing without errors.
If Google, Microsoft, Apple or Facebook have had the same basic issues they would have been in a giant global shitstorm right now.
and they had paid back the supscription fees for the past 1-2 months due to the completely unacceptable performance/service levels.
As your core source code (AI-logaritm) is so excellent - why dont you sell it to one of the big 4 mentioned above an then go back to your core business (journalism) and get big fat check for the IP and let all us users benefit from beeing handled by a real professional and reliable IT company.
Or at least dissable the free section untill you can deliver a reasonable service to the PAYING customers !
Such a pitty that you can simply not get the basics right. a Formula 1 car i still not able to win the race though it has the far best engine if it is has no tires !
