If I could give it a 0 star I would

If I could give it a 0 star I would. We had got in touch with Gascare as the divertor valve needed replacing ( local gas company found the problem but didn’t have availability to fix it ) . It has been freezing cold and when the Engineer arrived 3 days later he came with the wrong size of the valve .We had no idea that these valves come in different sizes . I had specifically asked at the time of booking the appointment if I should send a photo of the valve but the advisor on the phone was not interested. We now have to wait a further 3 days for the right size valve to be fixed . When I asked why the wrong size of the valve was sent I was told my husband gave the ‘ wrong information’ on the phone! Instead of apologising for their mistake the customer was blamed. Poor customer service at a time of the year when it’s freezing. Stay away from this company they are not interested in their customers ! Would not recommend.

As you have stated, your local engineer who diagnosed the fault didn’t have availability to fix your problem. You then contacted ourselves to help.

Our normal process would be to make a diagnosis visit to your property. As you didn’t want or felt you needed this we ordered a two port valve following the conversation , this saving you a call out visit charge. Roughly , 90% of two port valves in residential properties are 22mm. Unfortunately, in your case, your valve is 28mm. After bringing the 22mm valve and realising it wouldn’t fit we reordered and replaced this as quickly as possible.

You have mentioned regarding offering a photograph. The difference wouldn’t be easily identifiable on a photograph so we don’t think this would have helped .

As I am sure you can appreciate, the process of this job isn’t the norm. We would normally carry out our own diagnosis visit, order parts if required, then return (with the correct part) to resolve the issue.

Having skipped the initial call out , to save you money, this is where the process has fallen down. We hope to learn from this , and apologise if you feel unsatisfied with the outcome of a delayed repair.

Brilliant service from gas care…

Brilliant service from gas care engineer, the boiler broke on coldest day of the year typical!
The engineer spent ages getting thing working but unfortunately it was the pump and we needed a new one which had to be ordered, he managed to get the boiler going temporarily and then came back with the new pump , checked all the radiators were working as some were only luke warm , everything is working efficiently now radiators have never been so hot ,
Thank you for a great service 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Craig absolutely saved my life this…

Craig absolutely saved my life this week ..after being told I needed a new boiler he got my hot water up and running in minimal time ..now giving me time to work out what to do about a new boiler in the near future! fantastic service would highly recommend to anyone worrying about who to use look no further!

Absolutely brilliant

Absolutely brilliant! We had been messed around by our insurance for over a month with barely any water and heating with a baby in the house so we took matters in our own hands. Called Keith and he tried to help on the phone but then came round to have a look on the same day. Agreed a new boiler and fitted the day after! Absolute magic all up and running again! I would recommend him to anyone!!

Overcharged on parts and misquoted cost

Engineer didn’t turn up on day booked. When he did day after he spent time on phone being talked through the problem, not a good sign.
I was then quoted on the phone a cost of £255 for repairs so agreed as I needed fixed and they would order parts for both repairs.
Day after received email quote for £335 which is £80 more!
So I rang to enquire, looking into the pricing, charging over £150 for a thermocouple that can be bought online locally inc del for £95! And over £12 for a washer that costs pence.
Even taking into account the over inflated charges for parts of approx £160, this left a charge of £175 to fit that I was advised will only take an hour by their engineer.
It’s fair to say I was initially unimpressed at being sat waiting for over 2hrs to then have to rebook, especially as I missed an evening class. Worse I’m appalled at the excessive costs and certainly would not recommend.
I have purchased parts online saving almost £60 and a plumber is fitting them at a reasonable rate, saving me over £170, well below what they tried to charge :)

Good service

Good communication with Fiona via email to set up boiler service and a gas safety certificate. Good quotes for the jobs. Technician Liam called 30 mins before arriving and arrived in time slot. Friendly and completed in no time at all. Great service and value and would use them again.Highly recommend them.
